Sloans has a variety of ice creams , milk shakes, smoothies, chocolate and desserts not mention alot of various fun items to purchase. The specialty ice creams is what caught my eye when I first went here few years ago. My favorite ice cream is pistachio but the carrot cake ice cream is so beyond mouth watering. It taste exactly like carrot cake but frozen. If you love carrot cake this is a MUST. I did a scoop of both couldn't decide. The decor is very inviting and has lots to see and buy. I didn't use the restroom this time ,but the first time I used it was an unexpected experience as you can see out into the store but they can't see in. The special frosted glass is a one way. This is one of many places located at LBS (as we called it years ago). If you haven't been here you really need to go. There are other locations to visit if this one is too far. read more

I decided I wanted to find a unique ice cream shop this past visit and totally succeeded. I found Sloan's Ice Cream on google and decided we'd try it out. It was bright and fun on the outside, but I was not prepared for the awesomeness in store for me behind the front door. I'm not sure who's eyes were wider with excitement - the kids or mine. The whole shop is bright and colorful. They had a running train in front of the ice cream selection that went back and forth. The chandeliers were so fun! Across from the ice cream and fudge there was a whole wall filled with novelties and toys. So, you're probably wondering about the ice cream by now. It was absolutely delicious! I had warm apple pie and it was amazing! Brad and Kels ordered the same - Vanilla topped with gummy bears and m&m's. They both really enjoyed theirs and told me we should come here all the time. Kelsey asked to use the bathroom before we left and that's the bathroom behind her - the room you can totally see into. Turns out that changes when you lock the door. The decor of the bathroom totally matches the rest of the store. After learning about the bathroom Bradley had to use it half a dozen times before we left. Another great feature of this location (they have 7) is that it's a short walk from the beach. It's just 2 blocks away. You can get your ice cream and enjoy it at the beach. read more

Recently We stopped by the place and charged nearly $8 for a scoop of ice Cream . Upon our review the owner responded by saying that high cost of labor , food and insurance had caused the over pricing . There's a ceiling for every thing , over charging the consumers to stay in business is an excuse. Decided to come to Sloans since it was a bust at Umai for the donuts. Decided to try their new hot bombs. It was pretty good. You get ice cream inside a donut looking bread they press it to make it hot and then you add what ever toppings on it. They were pretty busy. But good service and fast. As the owner was very quick to respond on a public forum like yelp, but has since been radio silent on a private sidebar like gmail, seems like the owner initially was only looking to save face but had little intention of actually addressing my legitimate concerns. The glitzy, pink, chandelier adorned ice cream shop caught our eye, and we remembered trying it 2 years ago too! Overall, it was quite pricey. A kiddie scoop in a sprinkle cake cone was about $7.25. A double scoop in a waffle cone was ... oh, I don't remember bc I left this review in draft without finishing that sentence, but it must've been around that double digit price tag. So many flavor choices, but my ice cream of choice was drowning in slightly staling almonds, so the different inclusions couldn't be distinguished, and it took away from the overall flavor of the ice cream itself. They have a bunch of tables out on the sidewalk/street, which is nice during the pandemic. Great for people/car watching too on the weekend. I chose a small cup which was about one good scoop and was just enough after the dinner I had. The ice cream is very creamy and fresh not frozen tasting. I enjoyed each spoonful. 8/22/21- Sloans is a cute Pink ice cream and pastries shop. I gave Sloans 3 stars because, 1. The staff was not friendly 2. I was the only one in line, so why did it take a little bit to get my cone. I was looking at other things in the shop. It had slipped my mind that i had even ordered a cone. 3. I asked for Jimmie's. They did not coat my cone. She said, "It's difficult to get Jimmies on our cones". My thought was that the ice cream was not cold enough. So she gave me a cup of Jimmies. So I dumped my cone in the cup. But I wanted a cone. Not a cup of ice cream. 4. Some of the pastries didn't look fresh. Turned me away from buying. Sloan's Ice Cream is a rather big franchise chain with stores ranging from Florida to California. However they did originate in Florida back in 1999. Though a big franchise chain this store doesn't seem chainy or have that big commercial atmosphere to it. Instead it's almost like entering a little Disneyland of dairy, cookie, candy and chocolate treats. The lighting sort of twinkles and glitters and the place is full of all sorts of amusing little items that will catch the fancy of any child. The place also has a heavenly smell with its fresh made cones and cookies. Being the child in my husband and husband relationship, my hubby bought me a "Flower Child" which was topped with a little umbrella over a pot planted with delicious ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge and marshmallow buried under their fresh Oreo soil. It was not only delightfully novel but delightfully delicious as well. On season Sloan's Ice Cream can really get packed. The wait lines are long but move along fairly well as long as an indecisive one doesn't get in front of you. If that happens, though the ice cream is some of the very best you'll ever find, you may want to give it up to try again some other day. read more
