Fantastic food and service. Our party of 4 all enjoyed the meals. The Strati.... Cheese dip, gnocchi Mac and cheese and salmon in particular were excellent, and I'm comparing the salmon favorably to my frequent salmon dinners in the Pacific NW. Waiter was attentive but not overbearing and provided very good commentary to the menu. Good micro beer menu and cocktail menu also. Really great meal. Can't wait to try again. read more

Beautiful atmosphere! Server was quite knowledgeable, kind and outgoing. Menu was unique (a bit pricey), but food was delicious!

Ate there last night.....waited way too long to be served. The menu had at least 7pm items missing that they did not tell you unless you order one of them. The Atlantic cod special was unavailable but for a lot more money you could have the same dish as a regular dinner, scam. The fish was rubbery, the mushrooms that came with it were cold and and also rubbery. My son ordered soup, it never came. If I could give this place a zero I would. read more

It is terribly appalling when the Manager berates the customer! The lack of self respect this man presented was amazing.... It's called the hospitality business for a reason. Our waiter was amazing, I feel bad he has to work under such a buffoon! When we departed, the "manager", was tossing a few back.... We had a 5 o'clock reservation. Group of 7 at 7:30p on a Sunday evening - we were initially blown away with the appetizers and understood the poor service to be a result of a full dining room. However, quality of service decreased consistently throughout the evening, despite the decrease in customers/tables. Entrees were unsatisfactory across the board (I.e., overcooked, tough, etc.). We dined here on our summer vacation back in July of 2022. This was the best meal all vacation and we had some fabulous food in Colorado. The truffle salad was amazing! The service was so good. Everyone loved the entrees. My 12 yr old had the blue corn tamale and loved it. The s'more baked Alaska dessert is one of the best desserts we've ever had. I highly recommend this place! read more

I've been coming to Terra Bistro for 10-15 years. We ate at The Slope Room tonight for the first time. While the new decor and bar were nice and the food was very good, the service was the worst I've ever had. Our server was bubbly and nice, but they were clearly NEVER trained. The catch phrase was "I'll be right back with that". Plates accumulated on our table until I asked twice to please clear them. I had to ask over and over for another bottle of wine. Everyone finished their meal and placed their knives and forks together... and 45 minutes went by. I had to ask another nearby employee to please help. This is not my server's fault, it's the manager's ! I understand the difficulty the pandemic has caused, but management needs to know they are not training their employees anywhere close to an acceptable level. I love this restaurant, but it will die quickly if management doesn't train their staff how to serve. I won't be back ! read more

Excellent choice for a great dinner IF.... we arrived at 5:00 and they had 90's head banging music blaring through the speaker above our table. Think Killers or Weezer and other 90's icons loudly. Two attempts with our kind server did not allow us to speak to each other across the table. Direct contact with the hostess did the trick. Until, l the manager came by to berate us for not understanding his "environment". The newly remodeled Slope Room at Gravity Haus is phenomenal. It's the best new restaurant in Vail and I was very impressed with the decor and layout of newly remodeled restaurant. The wine selection by the glass is top notch, they have SilverOak Cabernet 2016 and I had that for drink starters. I had the Hamachi Crudo for appetizer, good portion and best Hamachi I have had in very long time as the Asian Pear and Thai herbs made the Hamachi such a fabulous tasting appetizer. For an entree I had the scallops and they were so flavorable with sweet potatoe galette and celery root mousse. I would definitely order these dishes again. We ate with my family and my niece had the Wagyu A5 appetizer a signature dish which was a highlight to watch him grill it on the hot stone. He loved it and it was enough for him for dinner. For dessert our family shared the Apple Cranberry Cobbler which comes with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and the combination of that and the spiced oat strussuel was excellent ending of our meal. The service is top notch and the staff is very attentive. I can't wait to come back to Slope Room and have made my reservations for late March when my family returns to Vail. read more

Nice atmosphere and impeccable service. The wait staff is friendly and they work beautifully as a team watching out for each other's tables as well as their own. The food however is mediocre at best and not worth the price. The Ceviche was bland as was the vegetarian option. The Salmon was fresh but not memorable and the beet risotto was disappointing. I do not say this lightly, I have found my new favorite restaurant. My wife and I have been all over the world but this place is so simple it's perfect. By simple I mean the food is so well prepared it doesn't need a huge presentation. When you first walk in the atmosphere is dimly lit with a modern ski lodge vibe. Very romantic with a sophisticated feel. We sat with Josh W. and he was outstanding. Not only was he super knowledgeable about the menu but also the art on the walls. Josh wass incredibly friendly and made sure everything was on point. He was very entertaining as well and made us laugh. We ordered the wagyu stone appetizer and the simple salad. The wagyu is out of this world and the salad was exactly as described, simple but flavorful. For dinner we ordered the wagyu strip with a side of potato's and mushrooms. We could not stop eating no matter how full we got. Everything was extremely flavorful with the perfect sized portion. We could not be happier with how everything came out. The steak was very tender and made my mouth water with every bite. Of course we couldn't go with out desert. My wife got the baked Alaska and I got vanilla ice cream. My wife was blown away with hers. Not only do I recommend stopping in, it's a must! We will definitely be back! read more

Awesome Apres spot!!! Had a yummy happy hour Haus G&T while I let my fiancé do a few more runs before hitting the parking garage to head back to Denver. The decor in the restaurant is super nicely renovated and the drink was yummy! Am looking forward to coming back again to try the food when we have more time! Also, one of the best things.... I didn't get to finish my cocktail before my fiancé somehow finished his extra few laps, but they gave it to me to go!!! So awesome!! Especially a great option during Covid! read more

First time here since it changed hands. Meeting a bunch of friends before the concert. Ordered a beer while waiting for people to show up. My friend arrived and ordered a Campari from the same bartender- she got her drink and I still never got my beer. Finally my friend asked where my beer was and he said he forgot. It was not busy in the restaurant but I got the feeling he was only interested in serving folks who were ordering expensive cocktails . We were completely ignored after that and were trying to order food and drinks. Finally the other bartender realized we were not getting served and took out orders. He was very polite and accommodating. Later we asked for more bread for our mussels- seriously must have asked 4 times. Overall the drinks and food were good but definitely got the feeling that if you are a local they are not interested in your business. Only after the tourists spending lots of money. We were disappointed with the service as it is us locals that work hard in this valley and try to support our local businesses. read more

The vibe and atmosphere of this restaurant are fantastic and that alone makes this restaurant worth experiencing. The Aperol Spritz was spot on and the dinner rolls ... perfectly crusty and full of homemade flavor. Our entrees were good, but the unique flavors were not appreciated by my meat and potatoes husband (who couldn't stomach finishing his lamb shank.) I, on the other hand, appreciated it and found the food quite tasty. Compliments on service, as well. It was quick and quite friendly. I'd go back but unfortunately don't think I'll get to enjoy the beauty of this restaurant again as my husband was not a fan. read more

Me and my wife spent NYE at Slope Room. I had the Lamb Shank which was one of the best dishes I had in Vail over my week stay. The hot stone wagyu appetizer was delightful and definitely opt for the 2 additional ounces. I do not drink but my wife said the dirty martini was very well made. The atmosphere was the best in all of Vail, especially when compared to La Tour which looks like it hasn't been updated since 1985. I plan to go back President's Day Weekend. read more

The food and service at the Slope Room were both truly subpar. We had a waitress who was incredibly rude (not sure what her name is, don't care). The appetizers were underwhelming and bland as could be. The Wagyu that was served on a hot rock had virtually no seasoning at all, and for the prices they charge I was expecting a lot better. The waitress forgot to bring out half of my order, so my sister gave me some of her's since she had gotten the same thing and I didn't feel like waiting to order all over again. When she had come back to the table I told her she didn't give me my mashed potatoes with truffle, and requested they be taken off the bill. She then begins to question me about how I had mashed potatoes in front of me, and seemed to have an attitude that there was no way my sister could have given me the potatoes, but she seemed to accept the fact and walked away. This waitress also came to our table and took the plate of food away from my mother who was still in the middle of eating her dinner. About 5 minutes after this, this same waitress comes back and, despite the pandemic, leaned over in between my family friend and I, pulled her mask down and begin sniffing and investigating the mashed potatoes which had been given to me by my sister. I then had to explain to her again that my sister gave them to me, and told her that she could bill me for the ones she forgot because I was honestly over being interrogated for a mistake she had made. Due to all of this we requested to see her manager (I believe her name was Jessica) and she apologized to my family and I for the waitresses' actions and was very polite. Following our dinner, my mother noticed that her phone was missing. We have retraced our steps from the night and the only place the phone could have been was in the restaurant/hotel. The phone has been turned off since it went missing after dinner, and when I called in an employee of the hotel where the restaurant is located named Gregory asked me many questions about the phone, seemingly implying he had it, or information about it. But by the end of the 5 minute call he settled on saying it was not there. Nothing is confirmed yet, however a police report has been filed and the police will be investigating the incident, once the police let us know what they found out I will update this review. However, even barring the missing phone the experience and food at the Slope Room were bad enough to warrant writing this review. read more
