    Italian buffet

I apologize for taking so long to leave this review. I am forever grateful to the chophouse for an incredible evening celebrating my son and daughter-in-law to be on the evening of August 29, 2024.. we were planning a destination wedding in Vail and I was in charge of the rehearsal dinner for 60 people and welcome party for 150 people. I had never been to Vail so most of the planning was site unseen. I worked with Stacy throughout the process and she continued to calm my nerves and make things easy for me. She helped me plan a beautiful Italian buffet, a nicely designed table layout, microphones for speeches, and the chophouse is very own homemade Limoncello at each place setting to cheers the special couple. She even brought in a chef from one of the Italian restaurants in the area to add a special touch to the meal. After dinner, we welcomed 150 guests with an incredible display of hors d'oeuvres and desserts. The indoor area worked perfectly, the bartenders took care of our guests Incredibly and the indoor and outdoor space was just perfect. Not to mention the beautiful view surrounding us. Again, I am forever grateful to Stacy and highly recommend the Vail Chophouse for any event. I also want to mention Joey. I met with him the day before the event to go over any last details. You could tell immediately from interaction with Joey and Stacy that they were very well-versed in putting together events like this. Their team of people did an excellent job. Don't hesitate to book this place if you have the opportunity. Love and respect to the Vail. Chophouse!

Overcooked salmon on bed of wild rice cooked al dente with micro greens and cranberry confit on top

Disappointed. Hotel concierge said this place was fine dining. Decent food. I had the sea bass, my husband had the NY strip and my daughter had the salmon. The salmon was a little on the overcooked side but everything else was wonderfully cooked, including the sweet potato fries. The place didn't seem so busy so I couldn't understand why they didn't allow us to dine earlier than 8:30pm which was a little late for us. Staff seemed to enjoy themselves more than ensuring patrons felt tended to, so it made the place less "fine dining" with professionalism. Lighting was alright - could have been more festive considering it's the day after Christmas.

This place has it all! Delicious food, impeccable service and the views, well they just can't be beat! My boyfriend was out snowboarding and I got to enjoy a quiet lunch here, people watching and drinking with mountain views. Highly recommend the prime rib dip! If you're into horseradish sauce, get an extra on the side. I opted for that over dipping in the au jus. Also French onion soup was really good, probably 9/10 but would order again if I was craving it. Don't miss this spot!

Nice, classy but not pretentious restaurant. The pork shank fall off the bone good though the grits were a bit of a surprise, not bad at all but in my mind I was expecting mash potatoes. The waitstaff was excellent!

This is a great place; Great View of the Ski Slope, good food and service. We were able to get a reservation on Open Table for same day. We ordered the steak to share and they split it in half and served us individually. The Brussel sprouts were some of the best we've had and the ribeye was perfect. The lobster Mac was just ok. The Spicy Bloody Merry with candied bacon was on point except for the huge celery stalk! Also this is a great place for few beers apres ski.

Colorado lamb chops! Best thing on the menu.

I really enjoyed my pilgrimage to the Vail Chop house. I came craving a rib eye but ended up having the Colorado lamb chops which were the best I ever had. I met some really nice folks while eating at the bar and the service here was great. I got nicer photos on my proper camera but ended up attaching some basic photos off my iphone because it's easier. Wayne and Susie... it was a pleasure meeting you if you see this review .

Very solid good food. Lobster Mac and cheese was fantastic good size pieces of lobster. Filet and NY pictured were very good with a compound butter. Green beans were solid but nothing special. Overall a good meal fantastic location. The food was reasonably fast. Looks like they have a set up for live music but there was no one playing. Outdoor and indoor seating. Drew our waiter was good!

We had a great dinner that was close to perfect only complain I have is the oysters are a little small and steak had some minor issues but everything else was perfect

We really enjoyed this restaurant, the ambience and service was great. It's a little more upscale and priced higher than some of the other places around this part of vail. Food tasted great as well, and my fillet was cooked. Perfect. My husband enjoyed the baby back ribs and the fries were a great side.

    Sking to drinking!

My friends and I always put this stop on our list for a good dinner, great drinks and awesome atmosphere. We love listening to Phil and the dollar game is FUN. We are always happy with our food. The bar mixology never disappoints a d add dancing. Just perfect for a night on the town. The TVs at the bar are a nice addition.

Dinner reservations are available 30 days out on Open Table, and they go instantly. I heard them quote 2+ hours for walk-ins, so definitely plan ahead if you can! Cocktails: I've always loved their cocktails, so even if you don't have dinner here, you should at least check out the bar. I've never been disappointed in any drink I've gotten. Dinner: - Butternut baba ganoush: all the flavors of baba ganoush but with butternut squash, and the warm pita was great - Fire roasted tomato and chorizo soup: a bit on the thinner side, smoky, interesting - Buttermilk sea salt biscuit: rich, flaky, with extra butter, country ham, and red pepper jelly - Warm pimento cheese: I don't usually care for pimento, but their's is great with grilled bread. They also use this on their burger at lunch - Wood grilled octopus: nice wood fire flavor, great ham hock beans underneath, grilled avocado - Crispy brussels sprouts: interesting flavor with the grilled avocado sikil pak - Wood fired pork chop: tender, generously sized - Grilled cobia: wonderful warming pineapple coconut curry, charred pineapple, and fresnos for a kick - Seafood diavolo: very flavorful (my dad found it too salty), served over polenta Lunch items: - Fresh catch: Argentenian shrimp and polenta - like shrimp and grits, very flavorful - Grilled cheese and soup: always a good combo - Burger: we added the onion rings, which had a good kick to them They also had a really solid kids' menu, which I appreciate. Despite how busy they are, service is attentive, and the manager came by personally to check in, which was a nice touch. Food and drink pacing was also good despite it being packed. The restaurant is definitely number one at customer service and I loved how everyone worked together. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel lost in the shuffle. It was clean and inviting. They offered an array of choices, so there would be something for everyone if you decide to dine here. The food was good, preparation and display were done carefully, but the taste was overall just ok. The appetizers we chose were Warm Pimento Cheese, which was mildly flavorful, but good, and Prime Beef Carne Apache, which had no flavor at all. The main courses we chose included a pork dish and a chicken dish. The chicken had great flavor, but was placed on a bed of potato wedges which were not all completely cooked through. We felt this took away from the overall dish. The accompanied sauce made with yogurt and poppyseed did not add any flavor to the dish. The pork dish had great flavor. The drinks accompanying the food were made well and tasty. The kids menu has an array of choices as well, and our choice of macaroni and cheese was a hit! We ended with a frozen snicker bar dessert that tasted exactly like a frozen snickers bar. Overall, we had a very nice evening and would definitely visit again.

I struggled to slice it even with a steak knife, and it was also quite flavorless. I ended up leaving most of it unfinished, as shown in the photo. I had hoped the server would ask if anything was wrong with the dish after seeing so much of it left on the plate, but he didn't. Considering the quality, the prices were on the higher end. As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.
