Great pizza and service. I went to their new location off of MLK Blvd. it was nice... I am looking forward to watching them get settled into this new location & working out the kinks...this location has SO MUCH potential, I hope Slow Rise can capitalize on it. While visiting family in Waco, Texas we met up at Slow Rise Slice House. The service was good. The pizza and boneless wings were good as well. The reason I gave four stars is because the delivery of the food to our table seemed disorganized, despite using the buzzing circular pagers for orders. They share a building with a local coffee shop and part of their seating is on that side. Next time we're in Waco we'll probably try them again but maybe not on a busy Friday night. read more

Food is decent, service is terrible and ran by high school kids. Orders come out one plate at a time. We waited 10 to 15 minutes between plates and we had 3 items. This makes eating with others very odd and difficult. Do you wait and eat cold food or be rude and eat before the others get theirs. This is going to be a neat place when they are fully up and running. Went with the slices. One cheese, one pepperoni and one meat lovers. Meat lovers had pepperoni and sausage but thought it should have been more of a vareity for meat added to it. On the slice of cheese they put parsely or Oregano or one of those green spices that work out swell on pizza. Went with one of the Brotherwell beers I was pleased with. Apparently this place is right next to a Common grounds location which surprised me. It's kid friendly. There were 2 or 3 kids roaming around. After tonight I'd really like to give it 1 star. I loved this place. It has a great patio and good pizza, a great place to take a whole family. Tonight we went in just to grab a few coffees and some funnel cake fries. While walking in we see lots of pets out on the patio. Totally fine with that, until we see customers putting dogs ON the tables. Not ok in my book. We decide we no longer are eating. We order our coffee to go and head to the restrooms while they make them. Women's restroom is closed and there is a line. Come to find out the men's stall is out of order and only one working stall in the women's. The place is packed so to have 1 urinal for all customers is disturbing and just grossed me out. Not sure if I care to go back or recommend a once favorite place anymore. read more

The lady workers here at the front are seemingly rude and act very stuck up to anyone that seems like they are monot from here or dressed like everyone else in the building. Food is good but, DO NOT GO HERE if you aren't from Hewitt/Woodway and poop out 100 dollar bills. The ambience!! That was one of the things I loved most. We sat outside in a section somewhat designated for families with young children. There was space for them to run around, picnic tables, pretty lighting, and a small jungle gym made out of tires. If you don't have children, they have some stylish and comfortable space outside and inside. Such a great place. Now for the food.....mmmmmmmm! Yup! That good! The wings...mmmm. The funnel fries...mmmm. The pizza, let me tell you it is the dough for me! It was so good, the kids who don't normally eat their crusts...oh they are their crusts! When visiting family from Dallas, this is the place we come to have lunch or do pick up! Because this place is conveniently connected to Common Grounds - Woodway (which is so smart!), it's an easy place to have your coffee in the morning and then take a few steps to a pizza place. The menu has a great variety and the pizza slices are BIG! Think New York big! And a good selection of other items too. I love the inside seating, but really appreciate places with large outdoor space to enjoy it in good weather and to bring kids out there. So, it's kid friendly! And as parents, you want places like that. Love me some Slow Rise! *I hope the bad reviews are not the ones people read. We have been to Slow Rise for in-dining and also curbside pickup for a couple of years and initially very pleased with service and food. However, recently the wheels have fallen off. Last year we ordered for curbside 4 slices, 2 each of Pepperoni and Margherita along with wings. When got home and examined the pizza, one slice had the crust cooked properly but almost no mozzarella cheese and then two pieces the crust was burnt and the forth slice the crust was totally under baked. Looked like for our 4 slices curbside order they collected 4 left-over slices from the tables of in-dining patrons. We got left overs! We put them in the trash. I emailed pictures of the crust bottoms with a letter TWICE and never got a response. Then three weeks ago we did curbside and ordered a pizza and salad with grilled chicken. Got home, nice salad but no chicken even though I paid for it and it was in the receipt. I called and was told I could drive back and get the chicken or they would give me a $10 credit for the next time I ordered. They would put my name on a list for a $10 credit. I asked for an immediate credit on my credit card and was told that could not happen but the $10 credit would be ready next time I ordered. Tonight I attempted to place an order and asked for my $10 credit. The lady said there is no such thing or list or record for my $10 they owed me. And was almost laughing and indignant about. And she asked the managers and they said it was not going to happen. There was another experience when I ordered for Christmas Eve when they stated they would stay open and they accepted my order. When we showed up and they were closed tighter than a drum. Got an email on the 26th my order will be ready. Two days late. My bad for not calling. This is my last experience with Slow Rise as they are not quality or customer focused. And when I express my dissatisfaction they ignore and even laugh or make up a lie that your $10 credit will be here under your name. It's not about $10 it is about customer service and quality in the service and respect for the customer. I have given Slow Rise ample opportunities and they have shown they do not care. I went to Poppa Rollo's tonight. And they were great. With this kind of service and quality Slow Rise is doomed to have a Fast Fall! read more

Nice little place that also has a coffee shop and "tap room" on-site. The appetizers were phenomenal (cheese sticks & bone in wings). The pizza however was lacking. It wanted to be a a my style type pizza but fell short. This was my only "negative comment" because outside of that everything else including the service was great! Would I come back here? The prices were very reasonable, but most of all the pizza was freaking awesome! Been a while since we have been here. Really enjoyed the salad and pizza here. Was very good and the crust is homemade. The loaded fries were good but a bit heavy. The mahgerita slice was tasty as well as large. The salad was filling and I enjoyed the dressing. Definitely a complete meal w the salad and well worth the price. I never did try the coffee business in the same building. There are some games as well outside to play and what appears to be a full bar although I am not sure about that as we don't drink. I would have given a higher rating but the menu is on the small side. I do wish they had a slightly bigger menu. Other than that I loved the slice and the salad. I wasn't as happy w the fries as they are s but in the heavy side. It is definitely a good place and I would easily go again I just haven't been again for a bit. Atmosphere is excellent. Lots of room for your kids to play outside and occasionally live music. Pizza is great and very large slices. If you order a whole pizza you might have to put it in your trunk! Beer selection is excellent with several local beers as staples and lots of rotating options. Instead, let customers know they're about to start your order, feel free to get a drink at the bar. This way, you're essentially upselling and making this business more money. I wanted to get the frozen Margarita and only didn't because I was told it'd be 5 minutes instead of the 20 minutes I actually waited. Not happy that they don't put the sauce on the boneless chicken wings for to-go orders. The reality is that little container of hot sauce isn't going to coat the chicken. I have hot sauce at home. I could have made this at home and the reality is I'm going to have to now because all you gave me was ingredients. Let people opt to order sauce on the side. This should not be the way it comes. I would've waited to have them toss the chicken in the sauce but the dilemma would be now I will get extra cold pizza because I've already waited 10 minutes with a hot pizza waiting for chicken wings that didn't come out coated with the sauce. I wasn't willing to wait another 20 minutes to get them actually put the sauce on the chicken. Ordering pizza and wings today was a nightmare.
