If you're heading to a Cubs game with kids, Sluggers is an absolute must-stop before first pitch! We were in town for a Cubs game and knew we had to take our kids to experience Sluggers. We grabbed a table downstairs, and our server was incredibly friendly and helped get us into the game-day spirit. The entire place was buzzing and you could feel the energy from fellow Cubs fans getting ready to head to the ballpark. The highlight for our kids was definitely upstairs. They spent most of their time in the batting cages and playing the arcade games, and they thought it was the coolest thing ever. It's such a unique experience and the perfect way to build excitement before walking over to Wrigley Field. We kept it simple with a couple of Old Styles and shared an order of nachos before making our way to the stadium. It was the perfect pregame stop. If you're visiting Chicago for a Cubs game, especially with kids, I highly recommend making time for Sluggers. It's fun, unique, and creates the perfect game-day atmosphere. read more

Stopped into Sluggers after a Cubs game and tried out the batting cages upstairs. Went through a range from slow pitches up to the faster speeds. It's a fun way to mix things up at a bar, and definitely adds to the atmosphere. The place itself has the classic sports bar feel, packed with fans, loud music, and plenty of energy. Served 2 minors tequila in their lemonade without us noticing until we got the receipt, gave us a 6 inch pizza instead of a 16 inch pizza because the new waiter had no one training her in her first day in am so disappointed in the service, never going again and I got scammed at the arcade read more

HUGE bar with actual batting cages and tons of other sports related games. We had a couple of drinks before heading over to the Christmas market. Didn't try any food, but we had amazing service. A fun sports bar for drinks, food, and entertainment. Its actually a really big place with two floors. They have dueling pianos, batting cages, and other games. The have a stage for live music as well. Service was quick and the staff was very nice. I would definitely go back next time I am in the area. read more

This place was such a fun environment to be apart of. With endless activities revolving around baseball and live singing happening in another room, the options were endless here. Everybody was well spread out and it didn't feel jam packed, yet the vibes were high. Getting a drink was super easy and efficient. Overall, great experience. Fun for any group. read more

We had the best time at sluggers. We were recommended this place by a friend who lives in the area and it did not disappoint. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was not busy at all. The inside was decorated with all cubs pictures and souvenirs all over the wall. I am sure they get crowded after the cubs games! The bartenders were super friendly and made sure to get everything we needed. We tried the Mac and cheese bites and sliders which were so good!! I definitely recommend those Mac and cheese bites. I will say we didn't expect the canned drinks to be as expensive as they were, but they weren't outrageously priced. We also decided to check out upstairs. They have batting cages with slow and fast pitch balls and many arcade games. This spot is so cool if you are trying to find something to do with good pub food! read more

We came in for drinks while touring around the area. This place is beside Wrigley Field. As it wasn't a game day, it wasn't too crowded and we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and efficient, and kindly changed one of the TVs to the game we wanted to watch. Our drinks were made well, and the beer on tap was cold. They had a good variety of beers on tap. The restrooms were clean and stocked. read more

This place was fun and a great way to kill time before our tour of Wrigley Field (sadly the Cubs were on the "road" vs the White Sox) I no longer consume alcohol so can't really speak to this place as a bar. What I can share about are the games which are a blast. At least while I was here, everything worked properly. Everything including the batting cages were cheap (compared to California prices) and well maintained. Oh and love how the "prizes" from the game tickets are very relaxed. We went to an event on the 2nd floor that, we found out, was oversold. At $700 I expected better...much better... The bar staff didn't get the "memo" that our event included "premium cocktails" and they were only serving well The "gourmet food" was mushy sandwiches, French fries, a gross nacho bar, wings and the driest chicken I have ever tasted... A compete waste of money and time. We left after 30 minutes and won't ever be back. read more

Towards the end of the night I had to use the restroom and TWO MALES came to the restroom to announce that they were close and to exit the building when I'm done I acknowledged them and said "okay I will" when little after that I was washing my hands when another employee "female" opened the door and said "WE ARE CLOSED" with a bad attitude I said "yes I am aware" I'm getting ready to head out as well. As a FIRST time visitor to Wrigley field and the other bars around it really gives a bad impression I really wish they weren't so rude. I really just need it to use the restroom. Thanks. read more

We were staying by Wrigley Field because we were there to watch the baseball game. Decided to get a quick drink and a small bite before the game started. We heard great things about this place and that they had some batting cages on the upper floor that was pretty cool.server was quick to get to us and get us started with drinks. We decided to order a small deep dish pizza too. Overall, the food and drinks were good. I would say they are extremely expensive from what I've seen. If I could leave them less stars I would. I handed the DJ a handful of cash after he promised me he would play a specific song for my friend's birthday. He promised me he would, after two hours of him saying it would be next song I realize he wasn't going to do it. The next DJ came on and I told him about the situation and he said that it was between me and the DJ that I originally spoke to. At this point, he claimed he had already played it. I know for a fact he didn't. He was a liar and took my money for nothing And it was a song that fit the theme of music that he was already playing I wasn't asking for anything ridiculous it kind of felt like fraud. This is him. Don't trust him. I requested "Here with me" DJ marshmello after other songs from the same genre/generation. read more

This place is packed with fun things. Batting cages are $2 and you get to hit like 10 balls. You can do softball or baseball. Arcade games are cool but I didn't play any, they have like basketball and skeeball. Drinks were like $10 for a cocktail pretty good. We went on a dueling pianos night but didn't see them play. We also went in the middle of the cubs game towards the end so there wasn't really any people there. Probably got more crowded as the game ended. read more

Took advantage of the batting cages and arcade on the second floor. Got there around 7pm on a wednesday and had the place to ourselves for an hour! The batting cages are a lot of fun, $2 for 10 pitches. Bar downstairs is a typical dive bar. Great spot to hangout and talk. Older place but it wears it like a badge of honor. read more

Bar food ! Amazing atmosphere after a cubs game where everyone goes. Make sure you have an ID they check before you can go in. After the game on the second floor there were two pianist planning song by request! They were amazing. There is also a batting cage to work on your skills. We (family of 5) tried to go to Sluggers last night at around 8:10-8:15 after we left a Cubs game and we were informed no children were allowed because it turned into a bar at 8. Not a big deal- we returned the next day 5 minutes before it opened at 3. We get in and the floor is sticky, musty smell. The bar tender informs us that the waitress isn't ready yet so give it about 5 more minutes. We go upstairs to use the batting cages which is one of the only good things of this place. A member from our party came up to inform us that we couldn't eat there because there was no chef there and it would take an hour! This place opened its doors at 3 and nothing was ready. They should have had everything ready before opening their doors. We left quickly after- no food no drinks. This place is ridiculous! The only saving piece of this is the bar and the batting cages- which only take cash! read more

I had a lot of fun around here, my family and I were batting for around a hour. I would recommend this place there's a bar for drinks and they even gave us free tokens after we asked a second time. There's nothing better than beer and baseball! I had an amazing time with my friends drinking Old Style, batting in the cages, and playing lots of arcade games. I loved the ambiance of this place and can only imagine how fun it would be in the summers before a Cubs game (I wouldn't get near it then, though, since I'm a Cardinals fan!) DJ was amazing with top hits and throwbacks but the bathrooms were small and doors wouldn't stay closed. Also I've never been to a bar where I couldn't order plain juice. The first bartender gave me my pineapple cranberry but the second one said that I HAD to have alcohol in it other wise I could order redbull or water. That's confusing and isn't right. I paid $3 the first time and when I told her that she just said "sorry I just work here" Also out of 5 bartenders behind the bar I had to wait about 5 minutes just to get a water. As a bartender from the suburbs I'm a bit disappointed in the service I got. read more

Multiple servers and bussers walked past our table several times, yet no one acknowledged us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. It honestly felt like our table had been forgotten. Because we were never able to place an order, I can't comment on the food or drinks. We ended up leaving before anyone came to our table. The wait time itself wasn't the issue. We were seated immediately. The problem was waiting 15 to 20 minutes after being seated without receiving any service, especially at a nearly empty restaurant. As for value, it's hard to judge since we never had the opportunity to order anything. However, spending nearly 20 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us made the experience feel like a waste of time. It's unfortunate because the atmosphere and location were great, but the lack of service completely overshadowed the rest of the experience. If you're looking for an all encompassing workout/work space, this is it! They have everything from full-size tennis courts, to a golf simulator-like set up,except you get to hit into an inflatable pillow! They also had plenty of Pickleball courts, and they offer so many different workout group classes.both a wet and dry, sauna, and tons of treadmills and free weights. I was also really impressed that they also had a physical training area. So think something that was my personal favorite and the best thing for Chicago Summers is a beautiful rooftop pool and lounge area. Not only did they have two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids) but they also have an indoor pool as well for winter as well as an indoor hot tub! They also had a common area workspace where people can come to take meetings and do their work from home gigs. You could practically move in here haha! As of right now, it is a $750 new membership fee as well as $295 a month, which is a pretty hefty chunk of change if you ask me considering most of the high rises around, have some kind of rooftop pool and workout area. It is cheaper if you join with a domestic partner or if you're between the ages of 16 and 29-see pic for current pricing. They also sometimes host social events which is super fun to meet everyone else in the club, but at the same time I think it is more of an investment in your future and your future health if you can afford it! I will not be joining at the moment, but hey-that could change anytime if I decide I should be on a health kick.

Classes are sold in 5 week packages, and reschedules are not typically allowed. The class structure follows a set sequence of exercises. Instructors are friendly, but engagement is inconsistent. While they guide kids through various activities, the level of encouragement and feedback varies, with some instructors mentally checking out after providing initial directions. The UIC facility itself is quite nice - The water is comfortably warm and there are changing areas. Parking is available but paid for a few dollars. Note that your access is restricted to within 15 minutes of class time, so don't go too early. The service here was not just sub-par, it was aggressive. One would assume that when paying for services, the establishment would have personnel willing and able to assist. However, the overall demeanor was aggressive, intrusive, degrading and relentless. Starting with the bouncer, I was ridiculed for wearing a shirt depicting the American Flag - the bouncer depicted me as an "uneducated frat-guy hell bent on over doing it." What a patron is wearing should not be an issue of concern assuming that they are a law abiding, civil, paying, human. Beyond that, the wait at the bar was over 20 minutes despite having a group of over fifteen people. Every member of the party was present for a couple celebrating their anniversary and was rebuffed several times for being "apart of that big group." The attitude exhibited from four separate employees was either fueled from the stress one can expect from an impending apocalypse and thus destruction of all that we know and is fair, or is just the standard attitude found at sluggers on a typical weekend evening. Terrible experience. Aside from the crazy bar area. We sat at the outside seating. We were berated by drug dealers "black kids selling promotional thing signs". Well we know they were drug dealers based on seeing them pulling out drugs and selling them. Owner of this bar, young guy, said there is nothing they can do. Made a point he was Italian. First off. I dont give a crap if you think your fake itlalian ass can run a bar this day and age. Do not let criminals threaten your customers. He made a point thinking he was so strong and guido like. Italians don't have a stronghold. Get over yourself. Do not go here. Fake Italian wannabe. No batting cages. Unsafe to customers outside due to black drug dealers. Don't go here. I warned you. Your bouncer is also involved. The drug dealing. Better get that checked out "Italiano". Do a better job to protect your customers. You suck and this bar sucks. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR!!! FULL OF CROOKS AND THIEVES!!!! This bar is full of crooks. We went to the batting cage and it ate all of our money. After it took over $50 worth of our money, we asked the attendant what was wrong. He responded by saying "thats part of the fun" and proceeded to not address the issue whatsoever. I repeat, that machine ate $50 of our money. Every manager that was sent our way also extended the rude explanation that "thats part of the fun" with no respect for the patronage or money we had just spent at their establishment . All the bad things about the college scene! If you want to go and see what happened to all the Frat-boy date-rapers you knew in college, go here. Would you believe I was at a "Girls Fight Back" fund raiser here?! This is the place to go if you don't mind over-crowded meat joints that smell like sweat, stale cheap beer and even cheaper cologne. Honestly, as a guy, I thought it would be somewhat amusing to hit on some Lincoln Park / Wrigleyville Trixie, but they were so few that when they did pop up, the jackals wearing striped shirts would pounce on them. This place is awesome, don't pay attention to the entitled A holes leaving bulls**t reviews. We Stopped after cubs game got some drink and had a great time singing with the dueling pianos. The coolest thing about this place is the indoor batting cages. WTF, that is just awesome... this is all on second floor. The 1st floor had dance floor DJ and multiple areas to get drinks. Plenty of bars to get a drink on both floors. Place was packed, everyone seemed to be having a great time. I highly recommend visiting whether there is a cubs game or not. read more
