They spent most of their time in the batting cages and playing the arcade games, and they thought it was the coolest thing ever. We had the best time at sluggers. We were recommended this place by a friend who lives in the area and it did not disappoint. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was not busy at all. The inside was decorated with all cubs pictures and souvenirs all over the wall. I am sure they get crowded after the cubs games! The bartenders were super friendly and made sure to get everything we needed. We tried the Mac and cheese bites and sliders which were so good!! I definitely recommend those Mac and cheese bites. If I could leave them less stars I would. I handed the DJ a handful of cash after he promised me he would play a specific song for my friend's birthday. He promised me he would, after two hours of him saying it would be next song I realize he wasn't going to do it. This place is packed with fun things. Batting cages are $2 and you get to hit like 10 balls. You can do softball or baseball. Arcade games are cool but I didn't play any, they have like basketball and skeeball. Drinks were like $10 for a cocktail pretty good. We went on a dueling pianos night but didn't see them play. We (family of 5) tried to go to Sluggers last night at around 8:10-8:15 after we left a Cubs game and we were informed no children were allowed because it turned into a bar at 8. Not a big deal- we returned the next day 5 minutes before it opened at 3. We get in and the floor is sticky, musty smell. The bar tender informs us that the waitress isn't ready yet so give it about 5 more minutes. We go upstairs to use the batting cages which is one of the only good things of this place. A member from our party came up to inform us that we couldn't eat there because there was no chef there and it would take an hour! This place opened its doors at 3 and nothing was ready. They should have had everything ready before opening their doors. We left quickly after- no food no drinks. This place is ridiculous! DJ was amazing with top hits and throwbacks but the bathrooms were small and doors wouldn't stay closed. Also I've never been to a bar where I couldn't order plain juice. The first bartender gave me my pineapple cranberry but the second one said that I HAD to have alcohol in it other wise I could order redbull or water. That's confusing and isn't right. I paid $3 the first time and when I told her that she just said "sorry I just work here" Also out of 5 bartenders behind the bar I had to wait about 5 minutes just to get a water.
