We had never ordered or eaten food from here before but it was 9:20 pm on a Sunday night and we desperately wanted sushi. We ordered the small sashimi plate and two rolls. The restaurant was closing at 9:30 and we weren't even sure if our order would be accepted. When we drove up to the restaurant, our stomached dropped. The outside did not bolster any confidence. Going inside, we discovered a meticulously cleaned establishment with a clear protocol for keeping both customers and employees safe during the pandemic. We were greeted cheerfully and thanked for ordering. They were genuinely grateful. They really appreciated the business. When we opened the boxes of food at home, we were awe-struck. I have never seen such big pieces of sashimi before! The fish was fresh and beyond plentiful. The rolls were huge; each was filled with ingredients, surrounded by a thin layer of rice (unlike where we normally go, where the rolls are fat because of the rice). We were stunned by our meal. So much so that we ordered everything again the next night! It was delicious AGAIN! We have found our new sushi home. The only problem is that we just want to eat from here every night now. We were waited on promptly and our food came quickly. This was a bonus for everyone involved! I ordered the tonkatsu, fried pork filet. It was served on tempura veggies with rice on the side. It was very good. The pork was not over cooked or dry as can easily happen in this preparation. My husband had two rolls. The Playboy and the Pasadena. Both were good. As much as I'd like to support an up and coming local place. I can't in good conscience write a good review. Please let me qualify first and foremost that I was born and bred in Asia. I know good quality Asian food. We ordered the spicy calamari and it was rubbery. There wasn't any real flavor. Next, we tried the Kabuki roll that other reviews said was good. A lot of rice and the flavor came from the spicy mayo that soaked the rice. Worst sushi I've had in my 51 years. Wow! What a surprise it was walking into here! This is by far, the FRIENDLIEST and most accomodating restaurant I've been to in a while! Being a local of the Millcreek/Holliday area, I like to check out the new restaurants that open nearby. I stopped in one evening with my 9 month old son. I was immediately greeted with a smile by the owner Sam, who quickly got me a high chair, and allowed me to choose which table best suited us. After ordering myself, the sushi chef brought me over some fresh Mandarin oranges, and a bowl of sliced avocado for my baby! (Which she didn't add to our bill). I had friendly conversations with both of them, and felt like I was dining with new friends. I ordered a sushi roll and one of their specialty mango boba smoothies! No complaints! I am a big fan of sushi, and I was again wowed by how quickly she made it and brought it out to me! The restaurant is very clean, the menu items are original, good variety, and fairly priced . This placed is definitely on my top favorites now and I would recommend it to anyone . I called this place an order to go and could barely understand the guy on the phone. When I got to the store they gave me the wrong to go order and I got all the way home before I realized. I called the guy he told me he would give me my meal for free when I came back. When I got back to the store they told me that I should keep the other food in addition to my food that I ordered. I told them no I didn't want the food and that i wanted my money back. There was no way I could eat it all. He insisted that he wouldn't give me my money back and gave me $10 which was not even half the order and sent me on my way.
