The best sushi in the valley! If you get an entree the miso soup is perfect, the salad is simple but amazing if you love ginger. The desert orange is sweet and a very fun way to end the meal. Katsu? Delectable. Tempura? Authentic and divine. You will want to come back, only to be foiled by hours and menu availability. This is a nice family owned small business. Rolls are not the "fanciest" but the Fish is always fresh and well prepared.

Wow! This takes the cake for the best sushi I've tried in Utah so far. First off, the staff at Teru are the sweetest people. We were seated very quickly, waters and menus in our hands in no time, and I appreciated the time they took to chat with me about which sushi they would recommend since it was our first time there. We settled on four different rolls. Each was delicious and high-quality, but if you have to get one roll the Vegas Roll was the best one yet!! It was crispy, flavorful, the salmon inside was mouthwatering, and made me want to order two more!! I want to emphasize how affordable and high-qualify the food is here. It is very rare to find a sushi restaurant that can provide both and Teru does that plus provides excellent service and gets to know their customers. One of the gals on staff told me that a customer she was just talking to was her old dentist and had been coming to their restaurant for years. That speaks volumes to me as an Elite who loves to support local businesses. My family is visiting soon and best believe we will go and get sushi at Teru! read more

It is Fish and rice only. If you are into Nigiri only this might be your place. I like a good specialty roll with a little hot mayo, eel sauce, something crunchy, etc. We tried 8 different rolls and they were all the same. Fish, rice, one roll had a avocado. My warning is when the menu says "crab, avocado, cucumber" It means EXACTLY that and nothing else. We tried a couple of sides. I was particularly excited about the beef roll. I almost didn't want to review this place because I want this play all to myself. This is seriously great sushi! Don't let the outside scare you. The food was great and the service was just as good. It took our server almost ten minutes to come to us. The owner/server was too busy talking to her regulars to even turn to seat us. The sushi chef told us to sit wherever we wanted because it was completely empty. Literally it was me and then the table she was at. The owner just ignored us which I thought was extremely rude! I shouldn't have to wait around to get service from someone who owns the restaurant. Eventually she came around and gave us our menus. The sushi was pretty good and well formed. I am super happy to have this little neighborhood joint only a few minutes from our home (especially in the food desert that is Cottonwood Heights!). My boyfriend and I have been a few times now and both times we have left happy and full. The location itself is pretty no-frills, which doesn't bother me because I'm just there for the sushi. Service is friendly and attentive, both times the food has come out at a great pace.
