Very disappointed. Checked hours online, made a trip and was told they close that portion of the menu 30 minutes early than it states online that Smackbird closes. I arrived at 8:44 PM, online states they close at 9:00. Once I showed cashier the hours online I was left with a nice, sorry it closes earlier with no offer to make-up for the wasted trip due to the website being wrong. Ordered takeout from here! SmackBird is a "ghost kitchen" located inside Cowboy Chicken. I tried the chicken tenders and the Jumbo chicken sandwich. You can pick your spice level. I went with the "Good Smack" (mid-level spice) and "No Smack" for my sister who doesn't like spicy food. While the chicken was crispy and tender, the seasoning on the Good Smack was too salty. The sauce and pickles were also very salty, so that didn't help. The "No Smack" chicken wasn't as salty, so I'm pretty sure the source of the saltiness was from the spicy seasoning. The prices are higher than your typical fried chicken fast food chain, but I didn't think the chicken here was particularly better than Chick-fi-la or a Popeyes. However, I did like how the food was neatly packed in the take-out boxes, and the pieces of chicken were generously sized. I also had the banana pudding, which was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet and there was no obnoxious artificial banana flavor. Lastly, I placed my order through a food delivery app. The picture for the chicken tenders included a side of Mac and cheese, but it doesn't actually come with it unless you pay extra for the side. read more

Overall I give this a 4 out of 5! The food was absolutely delicious. The food was 5 out of 5. I got a smakin cheese sandwich ( a chicken sandwich with mac and cheese). The staff was very nice but my order was delayed and I waited 40 minutes for my food. I tried to wait and give them time as there were huge orders that were before mine. They were not able to find my order when I went up there to ask about it. The staff was nice after helping and got my food out as fast as they could after the incident. I would recommend switching the soda options away from The cans and having cups. But over all 4 out of 5! read more

This review is for Grubhub, the delivery service that Smackbird uses. I submitted my online order at 6:46 with an initial wait of 30-50 mins (7:20-7:50) which I thought was fair due to the time ordered and rain. I got an update saying there was a delay at 8:00p and that I needed to call Grubhub support. The rep told me the food was ready at 7:05, but that I wasn't going to get it until 8:24! I was told they don't have enough drivers, so the driver is delivering multiple orders at one time which causes apparently an hour delay. So, I have waited an hour and 38 minutes for cold food. Great! Smackbird (Cowboy Chicken) you may want to partner with another delivery service. It is 8:20....so no food yet. I will update with a food review If and when it gets here. read more

You order inside of Cowboy Chicken and the cashier will direct you to a separate iPad where you place the order yourself. We came during dinner time, so the wait was around 15 or so minutes. If dining in they will bring out the order to you. We ate inside cowboy chicken and the ambiance was comfortable. Now onto the actual meal.... Hands down BEST chicken sandwich I've had in a while! We got both sandwiches they have. (the original and the one with Mac and cheese). The chicken was hot, fresh and very flavorful! It was a nice and large piece of meat! We got classic heat and it was a nice savory kick! LOVED it. The sandwiches were loaded with pickles and the sauce gave it the perfect touch! The coleslaw that came on the side with the sandwich was barely anything though...we would have appreciated some more... As for the fries, they are like skinny potato wedges. Not bad, classic... nothing special though. The desserts were a little subpar, nothing too impressive like the chicken sandwiches ;) I would've appreciated the brownie to be warmed though...it was practically frozen.. nonetheless, the chicken sandwich really outshined the rest... hence their specialty! Terrible experience!! Tried ordering f online for delivery, my order was canceled. Tried to order online again for pickup, and was told to pick another date as the store was "closed at this time" which it wasn't. After trying to call and place an order on the phone I was told you had to come in and order in person. Once I got there I had to wait for the iPad to charge to even order. After all of this I got home to realize my banana pudding that I paid for was missing from my $60 order. Not happy at all. The mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting and the chicken was alright. Be advised SmackBird is a ghost kitchen operating out of Cowboy Chicken. Other than the sandwiches all of the food is the same as Cowboy Chicken but more expensive. Literally identical. If you really want to try it, order your sandwich and slide over a register and order a drink and any sides. Chicken sandwich was 10/10. Paying more for sides and drink was irritating when literally the same thing. Employees almost seemed irritated that I wanted to order. read more

The restaurant is located inside the Cowboy Chicken restaurant. The Smackbird chicken wings were ok. But the Smackbird chicken sandwich was quite good! The Mac and cheese by itself was pretty good, but when added to the sandwich, it was even better. The restaurant has a rustic, hole-in-the-wall feel like an old Route 66 spot. The visible open fire grilling chicken is a savory touch. Makes your mouth water! But, here's the bad part. The service. It wasn't much worth commenting on. Typical service. The manager seemed bothered by our presence, and as we finally received our order, he looked relieved that we were leaving. The reason for my disappointment was that my order was incomplete. I was supposed to receive a can of soda, but understandably, they were out. So, when the staff informed me of this, I requested a to go cup. I was given the smaller cup of the 2 they offered, and sadly the lid didn't fit. I mentioned it to the staff member, and she directed me to the manager. He heard my concern and said he was aware and would talk with the cup manufacturer, then the manager opened the door and escorted me out. Basically, he was saying, too bad. You can go now. He didn't even ask or offer a solution. As I drove home, that loose lid came off and spilled soda everywhere. And what's truly upsetting is that this could have been resolved with a simple offer to change my cup. I won't return. What he doesn't realize is that I bring business with me. I've ordered SmackBird several times, and (clearly) enjoyed it. The best ranch! Order extra! The first, second, third, etc. orders had amazing pieces of chicken, seasoned perfectly! No spots lacking or overwhelmed with seasoning. My last 2 orders, unfortunately, were not the same quality as the first 5 or so. All three of the tenders had a rubbery tendon throughout the entire length, some incredibly dry parts, and spots that were thickly sticky with the rub. Almost like they sat out for too long. The ranch was still great, lol. But it was so disappointing to have about 1/2 an order of pricey, inedible chicken. read more
