To be honest, barbecue should stand on its own without sauce and sauce should only be there to enhance the flavor. The meat was tender, but I couldn't really get a feel for the flavor of the meat because the sauce interfered with that. The pulled pork plate was good. Also, my girlfriend said she enjoyed that. But again, sauce should come on the side in my opinion. I have no real complaint against this place, but I wish I had known ahead of time that the ribs came with sauce on them and I wish that I had known that there were only four ribs on the plate, I would've ordered a whole rack. Prices are good, the place is clean, and as I said, the owners are very welcoming and warm people. Give this place a go, it's worth a trip! But just ask questions before you order!

The fried pickles were extremely overcooked -- so crunchy they were hard -- and didn't have much pickle flavor at all. The fried okra was bland and lacked seasoning. We did arrive around 6:00 p.m., and they close at 7:00, so it's possible we caught them at the end of a long day. Either it was an off night, or this is typical -- we're honestly not sure. Be sure to check their hours before driving over there because they aren't open daily. Also, take note of the billows of smoke that rise from their smokers out back late in the day and overnight.
