Wonderful service. The two owners started it because they love to cook and love ramen! Simple but perfect answer. The baos were most and amazingly tender for being done in a tiny tent @ The Boerne Market Days. Char Siu was authentic fare. Small menu done right. Their ramen looks amazing. Trying it next time.

O.G Pork Bao. food truck is at Free Roam Brewery, beer and live music at the bar as well.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

Located in a strip mall, parking was ample. We didn't have to wait long to get seated. Menu had a variety, but still maintained a simplicity. Ordered my go to anywhere- tonkotsu black. Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles. Server stated udon was a not possibility for the kuro black soup. Friends also ordered the steamed and pan fried chicken gyoza. Service was prompt and establishment was clean. Good food.

We tried making reservations but the website said there were no reservations available. We decided to go and wait, knowing there were other good options nearby if the wait was too long. The restaurant was practically empty!! Started with appetizers of gyoza and iko karaage. The gyoza were good but the ika (essentially calamari) arrived barely warm, too heavily breaded, overcooked, and with a sweet sauce that did nothing to enhance the dish in any way. DH got a chicken katsu dish he enjoyed. I got a crispy chicken yuzu noodle that turned out to be a poorly executed chicken piccata. All the elements of chicken piccata were there, minus the balance of a good chicken piccata. So much garlic. Not good. An order of nigiri was also just ok for $16. I ordered unsweetened iced tea with sweetener on the side. All they have is an off brand pink packet. The tea didn't even taste like tea. It was brown sweet water. For over $100 for the two of us, we'll just stay closer to home for better and cheaper, next time.

I was immediately annoyed because the music was very loud to me. That could have been due to the empty restaurant, the actual volume or my perception of the volume lol. I was really hoping for a more intimate vibe for conversation. The speakeasy lounge actually looked more like the vibe that I desired but I settled in and placed my order. I wanted some of the showier selections seen on IG, so I ordered the tuna tower and flaming Romeo & Juliet roll and a cute (albeit sweet) cocktail that came in a goldfish shaped glass. When the tuna tower arrived the young server asked me something several times which I couldn't hear over the music, so I just nodded. After she smashed the tuna tower, I figured out she was asking if I wanted it mixed. Lol my bad! I actually did not want it mixed but it was delicious anyway. The Romeo and Juliet roll took forever to stop flaming but once it died down, it was absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his roll as well and they gave him a complimentary birthday desert with sparklers. Overall I give service a 3. I would have liked a more professional presentation of the menu, hyping it up a bit. And a less soft spoken server. The food was a solid 5, everything was fresh and scrumptious. Overall I give Uni'ko 4 stars and I look forward to returning. I thought it was a good value given the extra razzle dazzle and food quality.

The service has always been great and the atmosphere is very welcoming, which is why my family and I kept coming back. However, I recently came back yesterday and was honestly really heartbroken to find out that my favorite items are no longer being served. The pozole ramen and the chicharrón ramen are gone, and to top it off, the pork bellies are gone too. Those dishes were the main reason we would come here in the first place. I had actually been looking forward to them because I was having a really rough day, so finding out they were all gone was really disappointing. No offense to the restaurant, but without those items on the menu anymore, there's really no reason for us to return. It's a shame because those dishes were what made this place special for us.
