I do like the modern feel and colors, but I felt a little awkward when I came in and wasn't sure where to sit. The front desk staff said hi, but didn't really engage me. It could have just been an off day. I recommend this vet if you're looking though because it was very clean, and the tech and DVM I had were great!!

I have had my dog for 6 years and have watched the VCA prices rise far above the rate of inflation. In case anyone else is curious, YES they were acquired and taken private by no other than the Mars CANDY company in 2017. It has been about exploitation and profit margins since. Look into Mars' role in vet medicine and dog food. My dog was seen in Brookline for an illness in March 2025 and then again in September 2025 and in that 6 month time frame the sick exam fee alone increased from $134 to $139. That is just to walk through the door. And I am sure if I look at vaccine and medication prices the case is the same. They have steadily increased prices every few months since I started going in 2020. It is not about keeping up with inflation at this point. An annual physical fee now costs $112. Just last year it was $102. a $10 increase! Mind you, when I started bringing my dog in 2020 the routine physical exam fee was $76. a $36 increase in 5 years, that is 47% and FAR beyond inflation rates. Private Equity investors know vet clinics are of value due to their recurring revenue (aka loving pet owners trying to care for their animals) and they are ruining vet medicine. The insurance companies are no better. The staff are nice enough, and when I have felt uneasy about something the vets have reassured me with care and tact. This is not about the people who work here, but the state of veterinary medicine in general and how people are being priced out of owning pets so a shareholder can buy another yacht.

They were incredibly patient and careful with him as they swabbed his ears and eventually got him set straight. He is food motivated and they had peanut butter and treats ready to distract him! My only critique is that it costs $100+ just to get in the door. A checkup, without taking into account any treatment, is $98. I usually walk out $200+ in the hole for routine visits. One time I was sent out to Acton to get a root canal done on my cat. When I got there, the dentist there said it couldn't be done and she just extracted the tooth. For $1,000. I got referred to another place in Chatlestown for something else, because their relationship with the people who had been doing onsite had fallen apart. That one cost me over $1000 too,for something I was told would cost around $250. When I came in for the last few visits, nobody ever seemed to know why I was there. There seemed not to be communication or professionalism. Their prices were exorbitant, too! I really regret not having switched to my current vet sooner.
