This winery is as advertised, fun, colourful and happy. The outdoor décor is all bright colours and humorous signs like 'good riddance, we thought you'd never leave' at the exit. The outdoor setting is also very pretty with tables and chairs surrounded by flowers, shrubs and trees. I was there for a goat yoga session held on the property rather than a wine tasting but I did get a can of their Shiny Apple Cider. It's a fermented alcoholic drink made from Ontario apples. I love apples but not apple juice. So I'm not their target market (i.e. I'm not much of an apple cider fan). The staff were friendly, the washrooms were clean and the parking lot was big. read more

Very cute place to try some interesting flavoured ciders! They did a good job with the aesthetic. Everything is colourful and looks freshly painted. It's first come first serve, but people come and go pretty quickly. They also have a lot of seating. Most people try a few flights and go to the next vineyard, so it's perfect for vineyard/brewery hopping. We got a few flights of beer and one flight of wine. We weren't paying attention and tried the ciders before the wine. That was a mistake. The ciders are quite sweet, so tasting the wines after didn't give us a fair taste. Out if the ciders, our favourites were the peach cider, mango pineapple cider and the pink lemonade cider. All of them were very sweet though. The salted caramel was the most unique flavour and was surprisingly pretty good as well. They did have charcuterie on the menu, however I wish they had some other small bites to accompany the tastings. All in all, super cute place to add to your vineyard hopping list! read more

This vineyard is the former Stonechurch Vineyard. It's a cute little spot not too busy and I loved the pops of colourful detail. We came to try the coders (3 tastings for $10). This vineyard also offers yoga with live baby goats. We came on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm and didn't see any classes running. This vineyard is perfect for IG photos. Overall, it's a cozy vineyard and a good place to catch up with friends with ample seating. The patio seats are spaced out nicely and they also have indoor seating available. I swung by last summer (2019) for a Bachelorette party. We enjoyed sipping cider samples and toured the small but elegant facility during our hour long stay. I loved the picturesque nature of this vineyard. They have colorful lawn benches and chairs. Naturally, you can't avoid the sun or mosquitos so plan accordingly! Small Talk was such an amazing stop on our wine tour! We weren't originally scheduled to visit this winery, but they were kind enough to let our group stop in and it was a bus load of 43 of us! They were so organized - especially for a last minute tour. The owner, Hank, recently rebranded the company with these amazing labels that say polite/professional sayings on the front, and on the back it says how you really feel. It was so much fun to read though them. My favorite wine was their Pinot Grigio. They also brew hard ciders! We sampled two - one was a peach cider and the other was made with whiskey. This was a very fun, colorful boutique style winery located off the beaten path of all the other wineries. The sayings that they have plastered everywhere are quite fun and entertaining. The labels are made up of sayings as well "hence their name Small Talk Vineyards". The "Dessert Anyone?" 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon & "Dessert Anyone?" 2011 Riesling were our two favorites! Needless to say we took home several bottles of their Ice Wine, as well as some of the canned Shiny Apple Cider. I will say that the Shiny Apple Cider we took home didn't taste the same at all. On our FIRST stop to Niagara on the Lake, Small Talks was a great place to kick our winery adventure. The front patio yard has a beautiful summer like feel with bright colors and huge signage welcoming all guests. With the YELP check-in our entourage was able to take advantage of the free sampler which gave us four free taste test, either cider, wine or a mix. I LOVE this vineyard. We bought a package off Groupon for a wagon ride and tasting and it was so much fun. The exterior of the place is decorated with bright colours and flowers so it's very picturesque. We went as two couples but it seems like a common spot for a girls day wine tour or a bachelorette event. The wagon ride was long but the guide was very nice and tried to keep us involved. He gave us samples of different drinks to try on the ride and also let us try the grapes from the vineyard. At the end of the ride, we returned to the main building and got to sample two (I think) different wines/ciders to help us decide what to purchase. Some of their wines are available at LCBO but some of our favorites were exclusive to that location. Definitely include this in a trip to Niagara on the lake! read more

Fresh of a flight from LA, my wife and I rented a car and drove an hour to this amazing vinyard, all at the suggestion of my mother -in-law. I had no expectations so when I arrived I was blown away. The colors, the staff and the wine were all a breath of fresh air. We tried the reds, the whites and even some ice wine. I can't overstate how cozy the vinyard was. It feels like you're in your own world. The coolest part of the vinyard are their labels, which explains the name small talk. If you have a chance to read the labels in the picture, you can see what I'm talking about. It's sooooo . Overall Small Talk was a great place to start my Canadian trip. read more

Really enjoyed the wine however the front desk was quite chaotic as they didn't know whether or not to seat us as they stop service between 2:30 and 5. Our server was amazing (Emily). The manager should feel terrible sending her out to a table (at a wine vineyard, keep this in mind) having never showed her how to open a bottle of wine. Bless her heart, being thrown to the wolves like that. I was a server for years and was happy to show her. She was amazing and a great sport. Lovely winery. The vibe and decor of this place was right up my alley. I love the colorful furniture, the friendly staff, and the on site food truck. The wine was pretty tasty as well. Their spiced cider and shiny Pinot were two of my favorites that I tried. We each ordered 4 sample flights and tried some of the redneck bbq from the truck outside. They also offer cider and wine by the glass for you to sip on site. The labels on he bottles were my favorite part, I had to get some as gifts to take home. I ended up buying winter harvest ice wine, a six pack of shiny Pinot cider, and burning ambition. I highly recommend this winery. This place is awesome. It's a smaller winery tucked away from the main route. I honestly would not have thought to visit were it not for the Sip and Sizzle event. It was our first stop on a beautiful drizzling day. The look of the winery is charming. Loved the tractor buggy out front. Driving here without navigation, you'll be lost As I came to this place , I found it very pretty winery. Colorful and very lively. I was the first one and I met this very friendly person who's been so kind and helpful. There was a free wine tasting coupon as you checked in in yelp but I didn't go the tasting. The staff offered a free wine tasting because I purchased almost a dozen of their merlot & sav.. Well, the place itself was clean and beautiful. The prices were reasonable. The staff was good. It was a nice side trip on the lake.. The only thing I lost signal on my roaming data so I almost lost my way. But my experience in this winery was impressive. This place was very unique as it featured a unique selection of ciders, a nice change from all of the wine! The building and outdoor structures were very colorful with welcoming signs leading to the front door. This would be another winery in NOTL that I would be interested in spending time at during the spring or summer months. It was clear that they provide outdoor seating and from my understanding, they bring in food trucks on Friday's for guests to partake in. Once inside, the feel of the place was exactly what I expected - sensory overload with bright colors and hand crafted drawings/paintings on the walls. There were a variety of seating options ranging from high top and low tables in addition to a bar area. The ciders - they were definitely a little different than I had expected. I tried their original Shiny Apple Cider which was a solid general cider - not too sweet, not too tart. Next, I sampled the Shiny Peach, and while peach is one of my favorite flavors for almost anything, I was not a fan of this cider at all. It almost tasted fake, despite the description saying that "local peaches" were used to make it. Finally, I ended with the Bootleg Spice Cider. Despite not being a huge whiskey fan, this was an interesting combination! The cidery's description of this one was more accurate - a hint of apple pie combined with vanilla ice cream in a cider form. I don't know if I could drink a lot of it, but it would be a nice sipper! I liked the uniqueness of this wineries selection. However, the staff appeared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people in the facility. They did not want seem to want to spend extra time with their customers - just pour samples and stand back until the next sample was asked for. The prices of the items were a little higher but being that they stood out from other places due to their selection of ciders, they were not unreasonable. I would love to come back here during the summer season with flowers blooming, birds chirping, food trucks serving, and cider flowing! read more

This place is another gem tucked away in the Niagara-on-the-Lake trail. Not only do they have wine, but the cider tastings were amazing. When you walk in the place is very trendy, with pops of bright colors, chic white furniture, and a nice fireplace burning. It was chilly when we arrived, so after our tasting I popped a squat with a glass, and perused one of the many Canadian Food and Drink magazines they had on the coffee table. The ciders were memorable. We tried a pinot-cider that was cut with wine, and a whiskey cider. I am kicking myself for not buying a bottle of the whiskey one, because it was awesome. They also have deals on refills of bottles and growlers if you are local. Like all Niagara pourers, the tastings are generous (like, not those dinky 1 oz pours you get in the FLX), and you get 4-5 tastes for $5. If you are coming from Buffalo or Rochester and you enjoyed any of the wines and ciders from Niagara on the Lake, BUY THEM. Ontario has strict liquor laws that prevent them from selling their products outside of the province, so their actual location might be the only place you will be able to purchase it. I have been looking for a good whiskey cider since, and now I am going to have to come back to this cute little place to get more in the future. I didn't have the chance, but they do offer wagon tours as well. You bring your beverages on the tour. read more

Our final stop of our Canada trip. On the way to a different winery, their sign grabbed us and pulled us in. They were actually having a nice market while we were here, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Their tasting room is nothing special, but their ciders were well made and had good flavor. My favorite was the Bootleg Spice Whiskey Cider. It was a blend of spiced whiskey and cider, and had fantastic vanilla notes mixed in with a calm effervescence that hit the spot. It's their most popular cider, and I could see why. From my understanding, they do have some of their ciders available in LCBO locations, but this one is only available at the cidery itself. Their other ciders didn't really blow me away, but like I said they were tasty and had good flavor. read more

Okay so this place was very adorable. Their outdoor seating is very pleasant and colorful. I came here for their ciders so that's all I drank; by far, my favorite was their bootleg cider that has whiskey in it. I almost bought their handle of it, and I would have, if it weren't for my mother's discouraging me. I love cider so much and I think that one is my all time favorite. I checked it through my app to receive a free tasting so be sure to do that as well! Unfortunately I couldn't try their wines but I would have if I had more time and tolerance.
