Very rude, snotty, arrogant, unprofessional, miserable staff with the most constipated looking frowns on their faces. Having worked with the public before myself I can empathize It can be dificult. But don't mistreat customers who don't deserve it (especially elders) like my mother who is older who has said she was treated badly by their service. Make sure to check your receipt before you leave to ensure you were charged correctly. Things that are marked as on sale in the store and in the papers, often do not ring up at the sale price and the cashier will argue with you about the sales being marked wrong. Even when they double check and it is in fact on sale they have an issue correcting it. read more

This store is cool for the most part. Except for the part where the employee Fransisco/ Frankie thinks it's ok to flirt with the checkout ladies. He slows down the lines, and I never see him actually doing any work. Get rid of this employee. Your strode will do better. read more

I love some if the people that work there...but the majority of the people that are there at 6 in the morning are unfriendly and oblivious of people around them. Poor service by cashier. I placed milk and a few small items on the belt at checkout. I then paid, and proceeded to pack my few items into my cold bag. My milk was nowhere to be found. I asked the cashier "Is my milk up there somewhere?" as I looked all around, unable to find it in my cart or on the counter. He said "no" and continued to scan the items of the next customer. I started to check my receipt, but felt like I was in the way of the next man being checked out, so I went outside to check. Sure enough the milk had been scanned and was showing on my receipt. I double checked my own bag then went straight back in and the checker wouldn't make eye contact, so I got in his line to wait my turn again. Before it was my turn, I saw him leave on break. I flagged him down and apologized to bother him if he is going to break, but I needed him as a witness that I had not received the milk. I showed him my receipt and he told me to hang on. He walked over and started talking to someone else (perhaps supervisor?) I walked over to the original checkout and asked the women who had just replaced my original cashier if she could see a half gallon of horizon milk sitting behind her counter by chance. She said no and looked at me like I was stupid. Overall the cashiers showed no desire to help find my milk or to rectify it by offering me to go grab another off the shelf. They acted like they had no clue about customer service. It was a major mystery. Where did the milk go between being scanned and being lost? My best guess is the customer before me must have grabbed it with his own items. It was my first item scanned. Either that or the cashier deliberately took it, which seems unlikely. I Just ended up leaving as it was stressing me out being in everyone's way. IMO the cashier could have done this differently. When a customer cannot locate an item right after paying and while bagging her stuff, he could have verified it on the receipt, made eye contact and helped me look. Assuming we still couldn't locate it, then offer me to grab another milk. read more

I'd like to start off by saying! I love the customer service that the employees at Smart and Final provide. From the greeter with a smile to the cashiers, and in all in between. I was in the store this evening, having trouble finding something. Frank the supervisor was happy to help, attentive to my needs and pointed me toward right direction. I had another employee Derek help with another item I couldn't find. All of the employees trying to do their individual jobs, keeping the shelves stocked and helping customers. Getting us in and out quickly and safely as possible. I just like to say thank you for all you do for us. I very much appreciate all of you! I love our new bigger better store! Has good pricing for bulk products. The store's clean. Employees are pleasant and helpful.

My daughter went to the store for me. She is new at shopping. While there, she remembered that she had used up our vanilla, so she picked some up. She didn't realize that she was buying REAL vanilla at $40+ dollars a bottle instead of imitation for 5$. I immediately brought it back. I brought a bottle of alcohol with me to disinfect the bottle so people would be safe. Smart and Final refused to take the return. Their policy is to refuse refunds under any circumstance. (The fact that this is illegal is irreverent under the current crisis). I understand why they are doing it, but it seems ridiculous to refuse a return on a disinfected bottle of vanilla because of the virus to keep customers safe when I have NEVER ONCE SEEN SMART AND FINAL PEOPLE DISINFECT THE KEYPADS AT THE REGISTERS. Where is a customer more likely to get the virus from; a thoroughly disinfected returned bottle of vanilla or a non-disinfected keypad. P.S. The cashiers tried to help but had to defer to management. Management was abrupt and inflexible, but I know he is under stress and tired from dealing with unhappy customers like me and he was just doing his job as he was ordered to do by the company. read more
