I love going here for my groceries in general since it's always stocked with such fresh vegetables, fruits and hand made tortillas. However, today I was curious as to how good their made to order food was. We went around 10 am to try the breakfast burrito. There were several options (potato and egg, bacon, chorizo etc) with an option to include cilantro and onions. We got the chorizo breakfast burrito with cilantro and onions with red sauce on the side. The staff at the counter are friendly and they give you a number on the receipt when you order. We waited about 5 minutes and our number was called. They have seats in front of the counter where you can eat indoors if you choose to. Or you can do take out as well! I went to Vallarta and Ordered from La Cocina and the fat, short, no lip, Rebecca had me waiting for my order for about 20 minutes. I was the only one there when I ordered but people who came after me got there food without hesitation. Even a man who ordered his food after I was waiting for 15 minutes had his food before me. And so I asked Rebeca "why did everyone get there food before me?" And all she would say is "Im sorry" "Im the only one here" but why were the five or six other customers served before me, the one who ordered first???? And I still don't know because she refused to say why so I am left to assume it had to do with something about me she didnt like. Vallarta is a place that my family has always gone to shop and we've always had a good experience. Unfortunately not today . I went shopping with my mom we were down the meat aisle when i saw a worker pushing a cart full of heavy boxes coming towards us and i tried stopping it with my hand because he was about to run into us he didn't stop and he hit my mom, my mom fell and dropped her items that she had in a basket. My mom could have been really hurt if those boxes fell on top of her. I asked for his name wich is ( juan ) ( wears glasses ) Managers in charge need to really talk to them about they're surrounding's while pushing those big things .. So this is such a cool Mexican style supermarket. This place is super clean and offers many varieties of hot and cold foods. The assortment of Mexican sweet breads will make anyone on a diet say the heck with it and chow down on the breads. They have an awesome and I mean awesome hot food section. They have an assortment of soups like menudo, pozole, carnitas and other foods. Did I mention they also have somewhat of a tamale bar? They had like five different varieties of tamales. This place also has a meat area where you can get carne asada meat to tomahawk rib eyes. I can keep going on and on about this place. I can go on and on about this place. Salsa bar, agua fresca bar, candies, this place has it all! Another cool thing I saw was they have ice cold beers on ice near the registers. Grab a cold one and enjoy it when you get home. Went to get ice cream and girl working at 8:15pm on June 26 2024 was rude asf. First she saw us approach the ice cream spot and she continued "cleaning" the orange juice machine and would side eye me and my husband and would pretend to not see us. Once my husband got her attention she asked him for his order which she gave a good amount of ice cream to him, she then asked me for my order and she only gave me half of what she gave my husband . Stopped by the Vallarta Supermarket La Cocina indoor dining for lunch on 3/30/2022 at 1:05pm PST. Placed an order for a dine-in lunch meal. At 1:20pm PST, went up to the counter and asked for ETA on meal readiness. Apparently the staff had forgotten about my meal. Handed over my receipt and they took the next 5 minutes to make my meal. Beware ..... I don't know what the standards are for this market chain .... But Their staff is not trained ! I bought 3 lobster tails today ( on special , probably a mistake ) and they Were ROTTEN ..... Literally rotten ...... when I opened the bag they smelled so bad I wanted to puke ..... Not only is everything way more expensive than other grocery stores, but the quality here has me wondering who is in charge of this store. Wandered in, as it's one of the last grocery store options before you get to Sequoia. What a great store, and an AMAZING meat counter! Would not recommend this place. I have found a lot of their products expired and molding, a few weeks ago I picked up a shrimp cocktail in a cup and as soon as I opened the cap it gave off a sour stench. I called they're management and they never did anything about it. This place is the Disney World of supermarkets. It is one of the most intense places ever. We found it randomly on the way to camping up in Sequoia. We walk in, and we are clearly the only white people in the store, which is HUGE, is blasting ranchero music, and has tons of people walking around. It is incredibly clean for how many f'ing people were in there. We went on a quest for marshmallows with the helpful employees, and found these knarley strawberry ones...But as we walked, we discovered the SALSA BAR, the ridiculous meat selection, and oh yeah the FOOD COURT. Naturally, we got Mexican cokes and quesadillas. They were incredible. My straight friend got hit on by probably the only gay guy in Porterville. After we got our beer, we realized we had been chillin in Vallarta for well over an hour. So, we sadly left, spending barely $60 on way too much camping food. Don't eat their chili relleno burritos!!! They suck!! They didn't bother to grill the pasilla chili properly NOR did they peel them!!! I've had better chili rellenos at a hole in the wall!! This is the only decent supermarket in Porterville. This place is a wonderland of food. It is particularly a wonderland of meat. If you like meat, shop here. I had a hankering for carnitas, so my co-worker sent me here. There is a food court in the supermarket! I ordered two carnitas tacos. The amount of food I got for $2.50 (per taco) was generous and filling. The carnitas was tender, juicy, delicious. I also got a huge horchata, which was also delicious. I could spend hours and lots of dollars in this place. I could also grow fatter eating at that food court. I have to keep Vallarta on a strictly special occasion basis. read more

It's the biggest grocery clean store on Plano, on the south side of town. They will even take you home in their van if you shop there. They have everything. There is always a lot of shoppers there. Polite workers. Price wise some tings are not the cheapest in town. I love their Bakery section. The desserts look beautiful. They have a cream cheese and jalapeno filled roll which is kept in the back refrigerated. So you have to ask about it. They make their own tortilla there. They have a lot of things on display even the meats. I,myself, don't like the sides of beef being displayed. For people who don't want to see their food hanging around. In the cafe area they are cooking something in a vat. Their Carne Asada that is cooked needs to be a little more presentable. It's chopped up and tossed in. I'd prefer them to take the bones out before being displayed. I'm picky. I want my food from a store not right off the farm. But if you can eat your food "that fresh" go for it. read more
