I have had many time hired contractors and rarely find one that shows up exactly when told, comes in on budget to the penny, comes in on time to the hour (not days weeks or months) and leaves the area around the job site better than they found it. Dimitri was entirely honest and forthright that my wheel chair ramp would me much more expensive in materials and his labor than a modular alternative that I could purchase. It could be taken down much easier after my rehabilitations or move with me. H saved me several thousand instead of happily putting it in his pocket. I had a previous contractor who had played ever unscrupulous card in the deck and kept 5300. of our cash for several months I was not just making a snap decision. With his making such an honest and caring approach and answer we hired him on the spot. We can not even express how effortlessly it was to have such a big project done. I could not be happier with the look of my beautiful deck and everyone states it is absolutely gorgeous it is perfectly done. You can not find a screw showing anywhere he is such a skilled craftsmen. I will be using him again in the spring to take care of a new porch. You can not go wrong with Dimitri. So very pleased can not find one single minute complaint about the entire job. Having just moved to Maryland from Arizona and having a unique spa/deck requirement we did extensive on-line research into companies that had the demonstrated skillsets and experience we felt were needed to complete the job to our satisfaction. With summer coming, we decided that it was time to focus on our backyard. We had an existing deck which was approximately 14 feet from the ground, due to the slope of our property. Our plan was to add an additional lower deck that would extend over the new above ground pool, with connecting stairs and a separate entrance to the pool area. We had also requested that the original upper deck be refinished to match the new lower deck. We needed two very large custom doors replaced and the price of the custom door from the supplier was more than we were expecting. Smart Choice Construction (Dimitri) was able to design an alternative option that involved removing the custom doors, framing the openings, installing two windows and two doors, replacing the siding, replacing the light fixtures, and everything else that goes along with installing new exterior doors, windows, walls, and siding. The price was far lower than we could and would have spent on a new custom door, and we love the way it looks. The design that Smart Choice Construction developed was smart, it saved money, and it looks far better than the original design. Every part of the job was planned for expertly and explained in a manner that anyone could understand. All of the phone calls, planning, and paperwork were easy to understand and without any issues. We hired Dimitri of Smart Choice Construction to remodel our master bathroom shower after another contractor had botched a shower door install the year before that had caused water damage. Dimitri came in, surveyed the damage, and told us how to correct the problem. He and his helper tore out the old fiberglass shower, corrected the damaged subflooring, had a plumber move the pipes, framed in a larger shower space including custom built-in shelves, and covered it all with beautiful porcelain tile. Dimitri and his team did a fantastic job! Not only do we have a shower that no longer leaks, but we also have a roomier shower with a distinctive and updated design. We also had Dimitri install a kitchen backsplash while at the same time as the master shower remodel. The backsplash is natural stone and looks great. I constantly receive comments on how nice my kitchen looks since the backsplash was installed. I highly recommend Dimitri -- he has an excellent demeanor and knows what he is doing.
