He came over my house and hung some stuff on the wall, One of the things I requested is that he suspended my TV in the wall he did but when I went to use it later in the evening the TV fell out the wall and shattered everywhere. BE WARNED! I can't describe how dissatisfied I am With this company. I reached out for installation services of laminate flooring to my home. I was told they could do this job in 2 MAYBE 3 days, exact words from the company, but it ended up being 4 days which put us way behind in our moving process. Do not be fooled by the images or the reviews on this page , I highly doubt they are real! The two guys showed up late consistently every day, sometimes up to 2 hours late . One of the two guys was constantly on the phone all day and the other did all the work. At one point we came with items from our move and the one guy was on the phone in front of our neighbors house , two houses down, and then ran inside like we didn't see him and pretended to work. They ate food without permission from our home and turned the air down to 69 and left doors open in our home! I needed to have a bifold louvered door trimmed and installed to hide my stackable washer and dryer. The bifold door was just a bit too tall and wide for my door opening. I contacted three handymen and Smart Handyman had the best estimate. He came with his partner and they did an excellent job. They had to unhinge, trim, paint, reinstall the hinges, and hang the door in a position that allowed someone to open and shut the washer and dryer. They cleaned up the saw dust from the cutting. I had a simple handyman project which was to remove the existing old shower curtain rod and install a new one. Here's my experience. Pros: -Fuad was the first to reply to my estimate request. -Rate is reasonable $85, on par with other sevices like Task Rabbit app. -Was available the next morning -Job was cut short and prorated to 50% of his rate Cons: -Lack of care during the job -After successful removal of all the screws from the first shower rod anchor, Fuad did not take careful measures to slowly remove the anchor that was stuck to the wall due to the item being painted over during the years. -I understand removal of the stuck shower rod anchor would need a bit of force but he used way too much force. When the anchor was finally release from the wall, he also pushed the rod way too far out of it's place causing the other side of the shower rod anchor out of its place and ripping parts of the plaster out of the wall. -After this issue, Fuad immediately stop the project instead of offering any remedy to the situation. -He claim he doesn't have time to wait to continue even though I offer to patch the wall and give him the option to come back the next day to finish the job. He claim he can't come back tomorrow cause he lives in Hungtinton Beach and he can't stay cause he has another job. Not sure if this is true but I will give trust him on that. However, he could of come out the next day. -I asked if Fuad accepts digital payments like venmo, paypal, etc and he said yes he accepts all forms of payment. This was communicated before I awarded him the job. But on the day of the project, he was pushing me to use another form of payment. I told him I rather use venmo or paypal since that's what we've agreed upon. I ended up wasting another 15 mins for Fuad to install the app and register so he can accept payment from me. Why would you say you accept venmo when you actually don't have the app downloaded and ready to go? Not completely being truthful in my book. I totally understand the spec of the job has changed due to the damaged wall which is not 100% his fault since there were a few other variables that is not within his control like the shower rod anchor being painted and stuck to the wall. However, with his experience having done this before, he should've proceeded with a bit more care than I have witnessed. I am disappointed that he did not offer any workable resolution once the wall was damaged. Instead, he decided to cut loose so quickly. In hindsight, I would not recommend Fuad from Smart Handyman nor using any handyman services from yelp. Instead, I would rather use Task Rabbit app to hire a handyman since the app does insure all projects being booked through the app so you would have some sort of recourse if the projects hit a bit of a snag. read more
