We also wanted a church that actively helps people in need. First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista is where we settled. The welcoming spirit and passion for outreach make it a wonderful home church. There's also a great children's ministry and a vibrant and active youth ministry!

We love the inclusive environment and mission activities like building homes on the yearly Mexico Mission trip. I've realized I have a passion for social justice and am thankful to have found a church, life group, friends and Pastor who have similar interests. I enjoy both services. Having grown up in a mainline church, I find the traditional service familiar and the music wonderful. We also attend the crossing service regularly, and enjoy the band and more contemporary service. Christmas Eve Candlelight and Easter services are wonderful. Also importantly, I am so pleased to have found a community which is inclusive to all and embraces LGBTQ+ families and friends. While my family is not, it is important that all are welcomed and loved. This embrace is very thoughtful and has been done through deep study of the scriptures and the historical context of passages. I really enjoy Pastor Brian's sermons and have learned a lot and grown in my faith significantly, We're just striving in all of our ways to follow Jesus and the greatest commandment. "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:36-40 NRSV You're welcome from whatever background, church experience (or no church experience), spiritual, deconstructing/reconstructing, etc. I'm thankful my children are learning to love like Jesus.

I was referred by a friend, and this place has been fantastic for my child…read more All praise aside, it's the numeric improvement that speaks for itself. My son last year struggled, with COVID and the lack of effective teachers, he fell behind big time. Over the course of the entire year his lexile score only improved by 75 points, WITH alleged extra tutoring from the school. If you aren't familiar with lexile scores, a 75 pt improvement over the course of the year means he left farther behind than when he started. I was told about Kumon. I enrolled him when I found out how far behind he was, the school literally did not communicate all year these scores. We started a few weeks into summer. After 4 weeks of Kumon tutoring, he was reassessed at the start of the school year and saw a 50 point improvement. He basically gained in 4 weeks at Kumon what the school had done all year. The woman who runs Kumon is super nice, and direct which I appreciate. If we're on vacation she is really nice about a make up day...That is a testament to her putting the kids first. Most places nowadays refuse make-up classes. But she genuinely does not want your child to miss out on any learning. I have nothing but great things to say about the tutoring and facility here. They have really helped my son improve, he is now actively participating in class (which he refused to do before), he has built more confidence, etc... It has been so much more than just a tutoring lesson for him. Thank you!!!!

Extremely effective method in addition to traditional learning methods at school. I wish my…read morechildren would've started sooner. My son started at 4.5 yrs old and daughter started at 5.5 yrs old. Currently, my son is in kindergarten and is reading beyond the 2nd grade level. Even though he still needs time to build comprehension through more reading, he can spell and read way beyond his level. In math, he is trying to master his multiplication, while his school classmates are still trying to learn simple addition and subtraction. My children are in no way struggling with school, kumon just made their school work so much easier for them. This allowed them to focus on the more challenging areas in each subject at school. After setting them up in a routine of doing kumon workseets 15 minutes a day, it's amazing how much easier it is for them to learn. They are not born smart, they are conditioned to learn at a different level. This is not a place where you can put your parent responsibility on others. This is a place to help you as parents develop a learning strategy and organize your effort by enforcing the routine religiously. We saw results after 6 months, now they are excelling at a phenomenal pace. Small investment when it comes to your child's future. Don't wait until they struggle, proactively condition them to learn, so you don't have to worry about them struggling.

Which I was glad about. On the day of the exam, it took me 4 grueling hours in battling the traffic. Huhu..And enough time to be able to park and sign in. The receptionist is so nice. I told him what I was there for and he asked me where I parked, I got confused at first. Then he told me about the designated parking spot because patrols are very good in towing cars. Jeez. Thank you very much for letting me know. I moved my car to the designated parking spot, get back to the receptionist then that's when he asked for my paperworks. When it was all checked, I was able to sit down and take my exam. I was confident that I passed it. After the test, we moved to a different room for the actual exam. They only take 10 test takers at a time. There were 2 Procters watching and grading the test takers who are doing the tasks simultaneously. While inside and waiting for our turn, we took notes from the other test takers errors/mistakes. Each test taker has to perform 5 actual tests and it is graded accordingly by a Procter. Miss Evangeline is my Procter, she is calm and patient but firm as well. She pointed out my errors in such a nice way. And I am happy that I didn't have to repeat a task. It gives me hope that I passed the actual test. P.S And Yes I did pass my CNA exam.

10/24/23 I want to…read moresay! How disgusting the behavior of this man! Who says he's a Doctor and the owner of this testing site. The outright disrespect & discrimination that was displayed personally by him! Not only to the young man who came to test. But also a few others he turned away. On 10/24/23 Eastlake is practicing selection of who they think deserves to take their test. By this man in the photos given. Our student was early, and had all necessary documents given from his school. When presented to this prideful and arrogant man. He made up things to turn the student away! Stating the wet signature needed to be in red or blue ink. Which is false information. It only needed to be a wet signature in black from the head nurse at the school. Which was provided. What this unhappy and unprofessional person didn't know. That several other students were permitted with the same documents to enter and take their test. One being my other son ( who wasn't present at the time) We will be providing this information to a lawyer! We have several other students who were turned away and notified us of this behavior by this ( MAN in the photo) We are American citizen! his of discrimination isn't allowed here! You can't pick & choose who you deem is qualified. Especially with a government funded program. ( which includes this testing site) When the actual schools administrators that the students came from. Requested to speak to this man in the photos. He refused to give his full name! He refused to actually speak. When he did speak to someone he argued with them stating he's done this for 15 years. ( well that's 15 years in error). We are requesting not only this site in San Diego, Ca be shut down. We are requesting this man never is allowed to receive any federal money to reopen another testing site. Also, compensation. For the students he's turned away illegally. You sir ( and that's giving you to much respect) are not allowed to treat anyone like this operating a business in the untied state of America Your personal views of anyone that comes to that site is non-void. As long as they have all the proper paperwork. Your job is to allow them to test. So, many have been turned away because of your prejudices. You're playing with people's livelihood. And you get a kick out of doing so. With smile on your face when the school corrected you and let you know you were in error. You still refused their student to test! This site manager is despicable. If there are anymore students who have experience this please contact me directly. You can reply or comment to this review. Class action suit! We will be contacting the BBB of San Diego as well! I personally will not rest. Until you sir pay for what you've done. By
