Had a clog in my plumbing. Smart gets 5+ stars for sure. Excellent service at a very reasonable cost. I am very handy and know a good bit about plumbing. Smart was on the ball top notch, resolved the issue fast. He ran a snake, kept everything super clean and gave us some great advice that nobody else had mentioned and I didn't know. Our toilet started to gurgle when taking a shower, then toilet wouldn't flush down water normally. All drains from shower, toilet, and sinks on that line were suddenly super slow. My previous plumber was good but I decided to call around Lawrenceville to compare for knowledge, service and cost. We weren't in a rush as this was a 2ndary/separate septic system. Smart Plumbing returned call quickly and was able to discuss the issue over the phone and make the appointment later that day - on a Friday no less! Other plumbers I called would only have a call center/dispatch agents handling calls. They couldn't or wouldn't discuss the issue at all - no plumbing knowledge, just trying to 'lock in' and 'corner' the appointment. Others would not give a basic quote to run a snake; instead they wanted to charge for a visit and then quote to run a snake which would surely cost more. read more

We had a leak somewhere above our kitchen, the ceiling was quite wet in several seemingly random places. Plumber we had previously came in and cut three holes in the ceiling and basically gave up, saying he couldn't find the source of the leak. Called Smart Plumbing and Peter was here within the hour even though it was late in the day. He checked all possible sources for the source of the leak and thought it could be the washing machine upstairs. He measured for the location prior to cutting 2 spots in the kitchen ceiling. He discovered that the drain for the washer was not the problem but it looked like it is coming from the vent pipe on the roof. Said that with the recent heavy rain we have had that the water came down the side of the pipe and flowed to the nearby low spots in the ceiling. He recommended we do not repair the ceiling until we have another heavy rain to verify that this is the cause. Once confirmed we will replace the boots on all vent pipes on the roof. He definitely went the extra mile to resolve our problem and we are sure his evaluation is right on. Highly recommend this company!! read more

After getting a few quotes, we used Peter for the first time last year to unclog the kitchen sink. He was very personable & professional and gave us a very good price. So I did not hesitate to call Peter on Wednesday afternoon when my wife noticed our hot water heater leaking in the garage. Again he gave us a very good price over the phone and came to the house the following day to install a new HWH. Not like some companies that you have to make an appointment for them to come to your home first, before they will even give a price quote. He also took several extra steps to make sure the HWH was installed correctly, that was not done by the company that installed our last HWH, and he left the work area very clean. Our water line coming into the house was leaking pretty badly and is about two feet underground from the meter. I called Smart Plumbing, and even with all of the frozen pipe work going on in the area, Dec 2022, they were able to get to me the next day. Peter, certainly one of their best employees, called when he was on the way, and worked for 3 hours digging up the area, being careful to spare the shrubs. He gave us a quote to make the repair. He replaced the rusted valve, and made sure there were no other leaks. Then asked us to test all of our water sources in the house. He was incredibly nice, and thorough. I can't say enough good things about Peter and Smart Plumbing. He returns calls promptly, he ALWAYS shows up, he's professional, he's kind, and he just won't quit. I called Smart Plumbing to repair what I thought was a minor pipe leak. But, apparently, a squirrel had gotten between my basement and first floor. And while our water was turned off, that thirsty squirrel gnawed through every pipe between the floors. Peter's work had to be timed in conjunction with what the exterminators were doing. He came to our house five times during the 40 days we were without water, worked for 20+ hours, had to cut over 20 holes in our sheetrock, and used what seemed like a football field of pipe. Needed to have a new water heater installed. Called around for quotes and found Pete's price to be very reasonable. He showed up on time and was extremely professional and his work was top notch. After installing the water heater he discovered another issue but instead of charging me $300 he told me that I could easily do it myself and save a lot. I just completed the repair myself and spent less than $40. Pete showed his integrity by advising me of this, he could have easily recommended that I pay him and I would have probably done so. I had a leak in my basement last night. In panic mode I called 3 different companies and only this company called me back. I tried (and failed) to fix a toilet valve then noticed water in my basement. Turned out to be unrelated but our water heater was leaking. It was 23 years old so we needed a new one. Peter was very responsive and arrived on time and in roughly 2.5 hours had completed the entire project. Peter saved the day! We had a pipe bust in the middle of the night creating quite a mess. I called first thing in the morning and Peter came at 12(exactly when he said he would) to fix the issue.
