My review of this business is long overdue! They are top notch window tinters. I actually had a lifetime warranty on car windows I had tinted out in Pasadena. But that particular business no longer carries 3M window tint and so they referred me to Smart Sun Control. I just had to wait for authorization from 3M, which didn't take very long even though this was during the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Smart Sun Control replaced the tint on my front 2 windows and now my car looks like it's got brand new windows. I cannot be happier with the customer service and the attitudes of the employees, either. If you are looking for quality car window tint and want 3M products, definitely come here!!! Really great experience getting the windows on my Honda Civic Hatchback tinted here. The gentlemen working the counter was very knowledgeable and walked me through the different kinds of tint, gave me recommendations, and shared some of his personal experiences with different kinds of tint. Just went to have my 2016 Corolla tinted. I was greeted by Agustin and Eduardo. Eduardo walked me to the office to select which color to get. He explained everything which is legal and not and which one to get for the back and rear window before they started installing. The installation took almost 2 hours. I was watching a movie while waiting for my car and at the same time you can watch them installing the tint on a security monitor. They only use 3M tints with lifetime warranty. I'm absolutely happy with the window tinting done for my vehicle. Eduardo is very professional and did an excellent job of not only explaining the difference in the tint level but he has a machine in which you can feel the different heat levels based on the selected paper. Sabrina is very attentive and and allowed us to select what to watch on Netflix and Hulu while I waited. Their waiting room is equipped with water, coffee, and snacks. We have an older house in Northridge that is nothing but glass windows across the back. Very large and very old glass. I called Smart Sun Control to ask about some type of film to keep the glass from shattering. Sabrina was so helpful! She went out to the house in just a couple days, measured all of the glass and had an estimate to me before the end of the week. The price was really reasonable, so we said go. She had her installers out by the following Wednesday. Unfortunately, with the age of the glass, one of the panes cracked during cleaning (she had warned me in advance it could happen). Eduardo went to the house to inspect it and called me immediately. He then arranged for Tarzana Glass (also a great company!) to come out and replace the pane. He stayed on top of the project, and went out once the glass was in and put the final film on that piece. So happy with this job and the professionalism of their team. Thank you! read more

I've been getting my windows tinted ever since I started driving and even used to tint windows in college. I've always gone to another place nearby and been happy with the price and service. Smart Sun Control did a fantastic, 'straight A' job with tinting my new ride. Appointments are quick and easy to make via phone/text. Easy access to a local coffee shop if you plan to hang around. The tint job was smooth, clear, and perfect in placement. The staff was detailed in their knowledge of 3M tints as well. I chose the Obsidian, but there are two additional, high quality tints available for diehard super black fans. Follow directions as you will leave with some slight bubbling as the tints cure on the window. But they were all gone 48 hours later leaving a pristine finish. I got my new car tinted with 15 ceramic in the rear door windows and trunk windows. The process went very smoothly. I called and spoke to Diego who explained the differences between ceramic and 3M Crystalline tint. I got quotes from other places but chose Smart Sun Control even though they were slightly more than other tint shops. I liked that they are a 3M Certified Dealer that is listed on 3M's website. If I have a problem there is a lifetime warranty through 3M. The business is family owned and the technicians seem very knowledgeable. When I got to my appointment Sabrina further explained the options and we went to the lot and looked at the tint on other cars. I am very happy with the tint job so far. The staff is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I am considering going back to do the front door windows. read more

Let me start out saying if there were 10 stars to give, I would give them 11. In business, any business, there are 3 basic desires that a consumer wants: fast, good & cheap. In almost all cases, you can have 2 of 3; if you want it good and cheap, it won't be fast; you want fast and good, it won't be cheap, etc. With Smart Sun Control I got all three...with a smile! I must have looked at every shop in a 50 mile radius from the SFV and no one, and I mean NO ONE, had the pricing, product and projected turn-around time that Smart provided. I was met by Eduardo, who thoroughly explained the process and the types of film available...then he showed me. I was going to go with a lesser film until I did the 'heat' test. 3M film is simply amazing. Eduardo did not try to talk me into a higher price, instead he explained with the 'lesser' films can do first, but I was already sold on the 3M. When we went downstairs, I got to meet Sabrina and Agustin. What a pair of total professionals. They made sure I was 100% certain of what I wanted and then they went to work. They said it would normally take 3-4 hours but as they did not have another job till a bit later, all 3 would do the work. They finished in 2 1/2 hours. They even through in some 70% for my moon roof.... FOR FREE! I waited a little over a week to leave this review to make sure all was good... Pros: 100% Professionalism Excellent Price Friendly and Sincere Extremely Knowledgeable HONEST!!! 3M Film Cons: Give me a few more minutes...I'm still waiting to see if one drops. What a great example of a small, local business that makes America such a great country! First, the patience of Sabrina as I had to change our appointment probably five times. After two months, I finally brought my car in to get the rear windows and windshield strip tinted, for the first appointment of the day. Eduardo opened the gate early that cool Saturday morning, and an hour or two later, for a terrific price, my windows were tinted. This was weeks ago, and it still looks great, like a factory tint. And, it has the most legitimate lifetime warranty you could get. See, even though it's a little local shop, it's not at all one of those hole-in-the-wall seedy tinting places. They're a certified installer for the 3M brand. And so, after you get it, Sabrina will e-mail you a link to download the warranty info, listing your car by VIN and showing exactly what you had tinted, from the 3M website. This means you add true value to your car, making the investment well worth it. I don't expect it will, but if it ever bubbles or gets discolored, I know I'm covered. read more

First of all I chose this shop because it is a certified 3M shop. I contacted the shop on a Monday and I spoke with Sabrina which was very knowledgeable and helpful, I was surprised that she even give me an estimate by phone. She explained to me the different tints and differences on prices, she was very pleasant to talk to. On Wednesday I stopped by the shop which is convenient located on Ventura Blvd with plenty of parking space. When I got there I was approached by a technician which asked me what kind of tint I was looking for and immediately started to inspecting my car and he told me that the car did not have factory tinted windows and introduced me to Diego the shop owner. In order to go more in detail with the process of window tinting Diego started asking me questions about what shades of tinting I was looking for and even showed me his tinted truck and couple others cars that were there in the shop at the time. He was not pushy like other shops were they tried to sell you the most expensive stuff, he went over the different qualities and prices and took his time. Diego asked me what was the purpose of tinting my windows and I told him that I wanted some privacy and also I wanted something not to dark to show the interior of the car. He went to his office and got two pieces of film and placed them over my windows to show me the differences on color and how the car was going to look inside and out. After I finally made my mind he asked me if I was planning to wait for the car in the shop or not, and I asked him how long was going to be he told me about one hour an a half and I told him if I can wait for the car in the shop and, immediately he offered me his office to wait there for my car. When the car was ready Diego went to the his office and got me to show me the final look of the car. I went downstairs and I was very excited to see how nice my car looked. Diego after inspecting the car with me to see that everything was in order and done right went over the warranty again and told me that was lifetime warranty or until I owned the car and I said to him what !!! LIFETIME !!!!! Wow. Overall the whole experience of tinting my windows at Smart Sun Control was amazing I highly recommend this shop.
