Nice station clean, easy central spot in the heart of the city. Nice bike paths to get around.

Families can enjoy the large playground, with climbing structures and slides. There are also paid attractions, which are seasonal. My family has enjoyed the miniature train and carousel, plus pony rides and the Animal Barn, where kids can meet and pet the animals. Then there's beautiful Lake Ralphine, where you can fish or rent paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes. The lake is also a peaceful place to sit, enjoy the scenery, and watch the wildlife. For those who like to stay active, Howarth has miles of hiking, walking, jogging and biking trails, with connections toward Spring Lake and Trione-Annadel State Park. There are also tennis and pickleball courts, which are currently under construction. It's also a wonderful place for birthday parties, picnics, field trips, summer camps and group activities. And I love that you can have a completely free, relaxing day walking the trails, enjoying the playground or having a picnic, or add some of the paid attractions for an extra-special family outing. Whether you're looking for outdoor exercise, family fun, nature, fishing, boating, playground time, or just a beautiful place to spend the day, it's hard to beat having all of that in one park

It also nice for walks and runs, the trail has different exercises you can get into. Theres a fishing doc here along with plentiful places to BBQ. Multiple playgrounds and the list goes on. It's always packed so parking gets full. But with our mind state we serendipity get lucky- as we come into the park, someone always leaves at the right time for us to park! Definitely a gem in Santa Rosa.

I feel very lucky to have a place like the Children's Museum of Sonoma County right here in Santa…read moreRosa! There are so many fun, hands-on activities and special events for kids, which makes a membership absolutely worth it. We especially love the extra-large Light-Brite, water play area, and art room, but there is SO much more to explore. Totopia is also fantastic if you have little ones under 3--it's such a great space for them to play and explore. My only complaint is that the museum can get pretty crowded, so I definitely recommend getting there early if you want a little more space to enjoy everything. I'm also really excited and grateful that they are planning to expand the museum, which will create more exhibit space and hopefully help with the crowds.

It's centrally located in town and very close to the Charles Schultz (Peanuts/Snoopy) museum which is pretty well known. Pluses: - fun for all ages, but especially the littles both indoors and outdoors. - pretend play areas indoors including a dentist office and a medical clinic and a fast diner. All 3 were a hit w/my kids. - lots of other hands on activities inside to include a treehouse where kids can load apples and send them up and down baskets, my kids love that when they were little. - very popular air launchers to shoot wind spinners. - a huge manual pinball machine that is super fun, my kids never tired of making the pinball launch over and over. - a miniature train set that goes around, it's on the 2nd floor. - plenty of outdoors activities and play areas. - a little stream for water play, little kids love that. - a real life former medical helicopter (a bit random, but still cool). - a climbing structure, and a few other play areas also. - so many ways to tire your kids out, guaranteed a good nap on the way home and they'll prob sleep a lot that night. Minuses: - The building indoors is really quite packed. The different features are each thoughtfully designed and very nice and colorful, but it can get crowded here. - Pretty expensive admission. We got a discount, but I think their prices have increased. All in all, a great little place and good for creative play for kids maybe up to like 5th-6th grade at most, but best for 9 or younger probably.

It is the historic railroad depot, and it is also adjacent to the public transit station for downtown Santa Rosa. They have a lot of tourist information for both California and adjacent states. However, the really cool thing about this location versus the others is the Peanuts-themed monuments around the area and Peanuts-themed souvenirs. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great experience for visitors in the area.

This depot was used as a backdrop in Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt and is now a Visitor's Center! I am pinching myself that I have not stepped inside sooner than today (though I have taken photos outside on the wagon years ago and dined out in Railroad Square many times). Well, today is the day! What a cute little visitor's center with tons of brochures, magazines, pamphlets on many wine country attractions. There is a cute little gift shop that is scattered throughout visitor's center from Snoopy merchandise to Visit Santa Rosa gifts. In the other room contains the Northwestern Pacific train museum with old photos and artifacts you can explore. A recommended stop whether you are a tourist or a local! Even though I have lived in Santa Rosa for 12 years now, I wish I came in sooner given that I love Santa Rosa history, Snoopy, Trains and just old historic buildings. Check it out!
