Good design of TV over desk

Great spot, highly recommended. Great mix of old and modern architecture throughout. Room was clean and well designed; yes it a bit smaller than other hotel rooms, but I'm there to sleep, not jump around. Bathroom was clean and well designed. One nice design aspect of the room is the TV above the desk; it's a good use of space. And you can plug your laptop into the TV to get your favorite streaming movies. WiFi was easy to connect to with a simple but not obvious password. The one thing that was disappointing was the free breakfast. They had some good stuff like granola, but the coffee was weak, the fruit selection was limited, and the bagels were packaged white bread. More fruit and better bagels would have been nice, at a minimum. But there are a ton of cafes nearby.

Me and my partner stayed here for our anniversary, and we fortunately gotten upgraded into a king sized bed. When we originally had a full sized bed. Our room was super clean and nice, it was very convenient to plug in our laptop to watch shows on the T.V. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I would come here again once the time comes.

So my hubby and I took a little Valentines Day getaway and stayed here for one night. We valet parked for $19 a night cause there was no street parking and it was raining. The lobby is very pretty. Great furniture. We checked in with Daniel and Chris. Both of them were very friendly and gave us ideas of places to go in the area to listen to music and have some drinks all within walking distance. We stayed in room 204 which unfortunately had a view of a brick wall. But the King room was very nice. The bed was really comfy and warm. There was a nice flat screen TV. The furniture and lighting was really nice. The bathroom was beautiful. I loved the walk-in shower. There was a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea pods. Also had cream and sugar. It was quiet at night but I did hear the sounds of a bar getting out around 2 am across the park. We enjoyed the stay and is a definite option next ti.e we stay in Santa Rosa.

Spotless hotel, modern details. Room was on the smaller side for two people but the cleanliness and modern cozy decor made up for it. The hotel is located in the main shopping and restaurant area of Santa Rosa, so everything was walkable. There is valet parking, but if you want to have access to your car you have to either pay by the hour for a regular spot downtown (3 hrs max) or park in the nearby parking garage ($10 per day).

The hotel was so beautiful and charming. The area it's located is perfect, there's so many restaurants steps away. The staff were so helpful and kind. The front desk young woman was so accommodating and empathetic. I loved our room! It was so spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. It's only 8 minutes away from the Charles Schulz Museum

The front desk employee, was annoyed when I arrived at 2:00. She lectured me about rooms not being ready, and how she doesn't like the app giving guests the option to check-in early. Rooms are old and dont smell great. There were also some unsavory type guests staying in some neighboring rooms. I got he feeling this may be a popular place for unhoused people to stay when they get enough money together for a room. Our next door neighbor was clearly on drugs and came outside and glared at us and slammed his door each time we went to our car. Very odd and a bit unsettling. Bottom line, this hotel is just too inexpensive to be a safe place to stay. I'll just pay $20 more p night and stay in a Hampton Inn or Garden Inn as opposed to this location.

The weekend we stayed was a busy one, so the property was mostly occupied. The staff was moving as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Upon check-in, which was an hour late beyond check-in time, we had to store our luggage with the front desk. We were hoping to get in on time so we could freshen up before our wine tasting but we just used the lobby bathroom. When we got back from lunch, we get to our one-bedroom suite, which is the Sonoma Garden Suite. The room is super nice and spacious room with a full patio (see photos); it easily fits 4-5 (two full beds and one couch). But we had one problem....the room was soooo hot...mind you, we went on a hot weekend. We called for service and they send the engineer to look at our AC unit twice. Air was blowing, but it was warm air. At this point, we decided we cannot stay in this room, and I asked the front desk what can be done. They said they could move us to another room. I asked for TWO rooms bc technically, the suite we had was a room made for 4+ people and I booked it for the sole factor being we had lots of extra space (800+ SF). After a little back and forth, the young lady at the front desk said there was nothing they could do bc they only had ONE room. Then the front desk manager Eddie Huang stepped in and said they will try to fix the AC one more time when my group and I were out to dinner. Before leaving, I asked in the event the AC is NOT fixed, what are our options. He said they would figure that out when I got back, but I told him I didn't want to deal with this after a later dinner; I would rather have some kind of backup plan as the two first visits from the engineer did not result in anything. I left slightly annoyed, bc although I was reassured they would make it right, there was no clear plan. We left for dinner, came back to the room, changed, and made the decision that we needed to get out of this room ASAP. Luckily two of the gals were able to deal with the air, but two of us could not. So, we marched to the front desk and front desk manager Eddie was still there. He said he has taken the necessary steps to move us into TWO rooms and that they are ready now. Told him we only needed one room since the other two guests were ok with staying where they were. The next morning, we checked out and Eddie was there again, said he reimbursed us all our points, and took care of the resort/parking fee as well. I was pleasantly surprised. I know sometimes the staff can only do so much, especially given it was a busy weekend, but I have to say the two times I've been here, the staff was very nice and keep their cool. Patrons can be unruly so a high-five to them for dealing with the complaints. This property remains one of the nicer ones and is within walking distance of so many good eats. I would go back again and hopefully try to make use of that nice patio in that suite I booked.

The rooms both times were clean, with comfortable beds, and all amenities seemed great as well. Did not use the pool or the hot tub but they were on the premises. I did like the daily events available: went to a yoga class on one morning and on one of the evenings to the s'mores night, both are free for those who stay at the hotel. I did not hear any neighbors on any of then nights but maybe got lucky. Can walk to the nearby restaurants which is a plus as well. Will be back again if will visit the area.

It looked like the price was fluctuating only about $5-10 per day so I decided to book. After, I booked, the price dropped by about $50 per night (taking taxes and fees into account) including up until the day of our trip. I tried to call on the phone to request an upgrade to account for that, and I will save you the details, but they were extremely unhelpful. Then the hotel was 98% sold out. Already a bit of a sour taste... The room is tiny; I originally thought the bathroom was a closet. This is the smallest hotel room I have stayed in ever. The bed takes up most of the room. Ridiculously small. The bed is rather large and comfy. The pool was VERY busy over the weekend. I used the gym/health club sufficiently so that was a positive. Local residents can join the club so it really is a full size gym with classes. It is a few parking lots walk over depending on where your room is located. This made up for some of the negatives with pricing and room size. The location is great depending on what you want to explore. The vibe of the hotel itself is cool with the restoration. Checkout is at noon, which is considerably later than I have experienced elsewhere. Overall, we had a good time but would likely book here again only if the price was right (and not a basic room)!

As for the positives, the rooms are all very clean, spacious, and comfortable with amenities like kitchenettes and seating areas. The building is also a very short walk to the downtown square with plenty of shopping and restaurants. There was also a nice common space that had continental breakfast items for grab and go. However, I found that some of the customer service was lacking, and this was very dependent on who was behind the front desk. We had one person who was pretty unhelpful and got annoyed when we asked about accessing parking or if they would be willing to hold bags behind the desk, but when we came back later, there was a different person, and they were very helpful. In addition, this isn't a resort, so they don't have amenities like a gym/pool or dining onsite, but that's expected. I would probably stay here again based on the rooms and location. We historically have stayed in the Healdsburg area. This year we decided to mix it up a bit and stay in Santa Rosa. With its proximity to Santa Rosa downtown as well as multiple other wine country towns and attractions, we picked Art House to stay at. For our very large group of 20+ people, everything went super smoothly from start to finish. Booking our multiple rooms all on the same floor of the hotel was so easy and ideal. We booked everything from the Classic King Rooms to the Urban King Apartment Suite all the way up to the Cityscape Corner Apartment Suite. All the rooms were extremely reasonably priced and worked out great! I personally stayed in the Corner Apartment Suite and it was just such a great space. With a huge living/dining room, full kitchen and separate bedroom with a king bed and bathroom, it was so comfy. The floor to ceiling windows let in so much natural light with sweeping views of the Santa Rosa skyline. It frequently served as homebase most of our stay for everyone to just gather and hang out together in. It was just a fantastic room. Another huge plus was the complimentary Continental Breakfast. Stocked with bagels, English muffins, muffins, cereal, granola, yogurt, juice, milk, Nespresso coffee and various teas, this was simply fantastic to start the day with. For our huge group with multiple kids, it also saved us so much hassle and extra money vs. going out to an off-site restaurant for breakfast. What also made our stay EXTRA AMAZING was all of the staff. From the front desk team to housekeeping, every single staff member was absolutely wonderful. I will especially like to point out Marilyn, Ruth and Bernadette. This trio of women really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I really hope the hotel management recognizes this remarkable team. To be a good, complete reviewer, I will point out the few minor quibbles that others in our group did mention. The $21/night parking in the extremely tight enclosed garage was a bit pricey. Paid street parking is plentiful and cheaper, but if you have a nicer car then the choice is yours. The local Santa Rosa tap water flowing from all the room faucets could use a filter to help improve the taste a bit. And finally the shower pressure could use a lesser flow restrictor. Overall, Art House is just a fantastic choice if you are looking to stay in the Santa Rosa area. Our huge group unanimously agreed that we will definitely be back for a future repeat reunion here!
