I went into my engagement with high hopes, based mostly on the quality of their website and some of the YouTube videos I watched of the installs. Ordering from the website was easy and clear. That's about the only positive thing I can say: 1. The delivery process was completely opaque. I tried calling the numbers on the emails I received to get a delivery date. First I went to someone's voicemail. The second number was no longer in service. Then some guy, who'd apparently been monitoring the voicemail, called and told me he'd get right back to me about a delivery date. He also told me that the delivery company would call me the day before, and if I didn't answer or couldn't be there for the delivery, they would cancel everything. That's the last I heard from anyone. 2. Weeks later, I tried emailing their customer service again and got Autumn Scoggins of Catalina Home Customer Support (apparently the distributor of SmartTurf), who told me she'd track down my order. I didn't hear back from here, but did get an all from the delivery company saying they'd be there the next day. Well, okay. 3. The delivery driver showed up in a full-sized semi and refused to try to get it to my driveway. We had to tug the 300 lb roll of turf out of the truck by hand and then drag it a half block to my home. Then return to the truck and load all the infill and Air Drain tiles into my car for transport. 4. On unrolling the turf, we discovered that it was sliced completely across the roll in one place -- not completely but we couldn't install it that way. We had to purchase a patch kit and repair the cut prior to install. Also, 2 of the Air Drain tiles we so damaged they were not usable. I reached out again to Autumn at Catalina, who appeared very concerned and said she'd work with the company to see about a partial refund. A month later, Autumn hasn't returned emails. Since replacing the turf would have been a complete nightmare, we decided to patch the defective roll and install it anyway. I first contacted Smart Turf about getting a quote on October 18th. Within a few days, measurements were taken and a quote was given. It took me a long time to bring myself to install artificial surface in my backyard. I was very anxious about this all the way through the installation. I explained to David on my first visit to the showroom, I wanted something that looked so much like real grass that my guests would have to lay on it to tell it was artificial. We installed "Troon" which is the longest cut Smart Turf carries, and I must say, that it looks real. The color is rich and the texture is thick. I think the thing I like most about it is how clean it is. The service was great from my first visit to the sales call through the installation. We changed our mind on the original coverage and the Jake made a second trip out immediately to remeasure. We changed the installation date and the new date was graciously accommodated. So we decided to get artificial grass for our home and we began to do some research online. I came across the folks at Smart Turf and went to the showroom where I was introduced to their outstanding line-up of turf. We selected on that we felt really looked natural. The price was not the cheapest that we looked at the the product was far superior. So we had the grass installed. They did our yard in ONE day! That is they tore out the old grass, regraded the area, put down gravel stuff, laid out the new grass, put in the fill and had the place looking brand-new. We love our turf!!! We had our backyard done just recently because our grass was dead, and our dog did not like playing in the yard because of the dry dead grass. Now that the turf is installed, he loves playing and lounging in the yard but even more so on the grass. He lays on it all the time. Great Company to work with! Tried to get other estimates and mostly dealt with others that didn't show up, call back or had substandard products. I did receive a couple of quotes prior to receiving one from Smart Turf but they didn't compare with Smart Turf. I was very fortunate to get a call from Travis from Smart Turf. He returned every call, showed up right on time and provided us with a prompt quote. He measured, answered all of our questions and was very professional and pleasant. He showed us samples of the highest quality and gave us a great price. He was very communicative throughout the process from beginning to end. Everyone I spoke to within the Company was very friendly, helpful and professional. The installers were awesome! Showed up at 7AM and were completely done by 1 PM (500 sq. ft). They removed the old ugly grass and 3-4 inches of soil, replaced it with the crushed gravel and installed the new beautiful Pacific Dunes turf. They were very meticulous with the cuts, seams and setting in the edges. They thoroughly cleaned up everything and left the street and yard as it was. After watching tons of YouTube videos on DIY turf installation I decided without a doubt I was going to choose Smart Turf as my turf. Based on other DIY'ers reviews on the quality and the microban aspects of Smart Turf I logged onto my computer once again to order Smart Turf and realized they were located 5 miles from my house....SCORE! The guys at Smart Turf went above and beyond to help me out...gave me some tips, a short tutorial on joining seams and sent me on my way. I purchased "Pine Valley" for my small project and am super happy with the way it turned out. I finished the install yesterday and have already had a handful of neighbors stop by and compliment the look of the smart turf, ask questions, etc. Still more work to do with pavers and plants but the turf looks great! This review is not about their work or quality of grass but about their business. I called them to set up an appointment and had to call multiple times. Messages were left and after five days received a callback. He said he will give contact information to his regional salesperson "Rosevelt" and the guy will call me next day. Eight days have gone by and no calls. If this business is unreliable in contacting potential customers, one can only imagine what will happen after they have taken our money and their is a problem later on. Couldn't be happier with how our turf and putting green turned out. I live in Pasadena and we completely did our entire front yard with new hard and soft cape. Decided on turf because grass is so much work and always having issues with sprinklers and also wanted to save on water. Neighbor said she'd installed Smart Turf at her last house and recommended them. I got samples of different types of turf, Jake came out and gave me a formal estimate and a week later the installers came. I'd had a little turf for a dog run in the back but I wanted it done right and so wanted to hire pros. These guys were pros.
