My husband and I had talked about a backyard putting green for years. When gophers attacked our grass, we decided to make it a reality. We contacted several companies and decided to use Backyard Golf and Games because they specialize in putting greens. We are so glad that we did! From the consultation on, Trent discussed a green that was exactly how we pictured it! We have a small side yard as well, and Trent and his crew even delivered the gravel for our pathway! Installation only took two days. I have a backyard orchard, so I was worried that some of the branches of my trees would be damaged. My worries were for nothing. The crew worked my trees into the design and none of my trees were damaged during installation. The crew cleaned up after themselves each day which doesn't happen with every landscape/construction company. At the last minute, my husband and I decided to add another hole and change the hole placements. No problem. I decided to focus on a firm specializing in putting green installation as the key contractor for my backyard renovation. I talked to landscapers who have installed artificial turf as part of their landscape plans & @ 3 putting green specialists. I decided on Backyard Golf after meeting its owner Chris, who is a golfer & was very familiar with the kind of green an avid golfer like me would appreciate for years to come. I was able to offer 'architecture' input to make me fee like I was involved but I really relied on the contractor's expertise and experience. I ended up with a clean and aesthetically attractive green customized for my yard that wraps around a newly built 'California Room' The green rolls at a 10-11 stimp and the fringe compliments the green & provides a nice collar to practice chipping. Additionally, Chris provided a separate kidney shaped portable chipping pad and attractive striped golf hole flags. The installers did a superb job finishing the turf & Chris stayed active in the supervision all 3 days they worked at my house. Chris also referred me to a landscaper he had worked with in the past & we are currently renovating the balance of the backyard & the whole front yard. Very disappointed.. We have a putting green but after 9 years wanted to spruce it up. I went on Yelp and contacted 3 companies to give me quotes. Backyard did contact me in 3 days, however they didn't even seem interested in coming to give an estimate, maybe since it is a small putting area (206 sq ft). I texted a picture but heard nothing. I texted again after the 2 other companies came and gave very professional quotes. He texted me a ballpark and it was twice the amount of the 2 other companies that took the time to come out.. I would not have given Backyard Golf even a two star rating before their terrific and immediate response to an obvious problem with turf they installed. I would not now hesitate to HIGHLY recommend Backyard Golf to anyone who appreciates honesty, integrity and great customer service. We moved into a home that required a complete backyard re-do. Based on a recommendation, we worked with Backyard Golf and were pleased with their sales offer, their product, their team. Until the install was completed. There was an obvious problem with the turf. Distinct ridges of longer blades of turf running the length of the artificial grass. Backyard was quick to respond to our concern, came out and back swept the turf at length, no resolution. Backyard then called the manufacturer who came out, more back sweeping, again with no resolution of the problem though by now everyone involved said that they recognized that there WAS a problem. We lived with the unsightly turf for a few months until the sight of the it ate away at our visual sensitivities and sense of propriety and became a huge detractor to our otherwise great backyard. When we again contacted Backyard and re-advised them of our disappointment with the turf, especially given our cost of this investment, they were extremely responsive. They agreed again that there was a problem, agreed to and did replace the originally-installed turf with upgraded turf, all at their expense and within days of our discussion with them.
