DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY We scheduled for 1pm and expected them to arrive within the hour. By 1:57pm, I had sent an email, two texts, and I had made several calls. I received a response via text, saying to expect the person at 2:45pm. That was the last thing I ever heard from them! We had to change our plans and errands to accommodate for the lateness (and eventual no-show) of a company that didn't even give us the dignity of telling us they wouldn't be able to make it. They just ignored our continued messages for 4 more hours! The only good part about this story is that they don't charge until the appointment is kept, so we didn't have to fight through the same level of apathy to get any money back. We just wasted an entire afternoon, missed deadlines, and piled up tasks could have been completed if only we'd known not to wait for them! This was a horrible experience and we hope they don't get the chance to treat anyone else so carelessly. They only get the one star because zero wasn't an option. No show. No apology. I scheduled an appointment and the appointment was missed without any notice or call. When I reached out, I was simply given the response "tis the season, we're busy and overwhelmed with appointments". I get it. Demand is really high during the holidays, but I booked my appointment during an available time online so as a customer it's hard for me to understand how my appointment was missed. I was able to get an available appointment same day; however, I was completely inconvenienced. To top it off, I was charged double to triple the amount for the most basic wall mount available. What really irks me is that I was inconvenienced and still overcharged for the service. This is not how you treat customers who have already supported this business multiple times. I called Sam on a Sunday evening and much to my surprise, he picked up. I was having trouble with another provider and decided to move on. Sam was very helpful over the phone and in-person. When it came time to do the actual work, he was meticulous and creative. As others have said, he quotes the price upfront and he knows his stuff. I found Smart TV Installers and heard back very quickly from Samson ,the owner. I explained what I needed and he came out the next day and did everything perfectly. He adhered to the current Covid situation wearing a mask and booties the entire time. Leaving this review now as I should've read the others and booked an appointment elsewhere. I had a 8am scheduled appointment for today-received email and text confirmations leading up to and the day prior. 8:15am, then 8:30am rolled around with no communication so I reached out via text and email and received no response. The phone number listed goes straight to an automated response telling you to text them to book an appointment-no one ever picks up or responds. I had to move my day around for this 8am, and since they're over an hour late with no communication to me whatsoever, I sent them a message cancelling. The installer (owner - Samson/Sammy) showed up 1 hour later than scheduled and did not have a mask. He was wearing a neck gaiter - which has been shown to be ineffective at blocking the small aerosol particles that cause COVID-19 infection (as published by MIT: single-layer gaiter blocked only 10 percent of 0.5-micron particles, while the two-layer gaiter blocked 20 percent). With COVID-19 rates on the rise in the DMV this week, I was uncomfortable with letting him in with only a gaiter instead of a mask. I asked him if he had a mask of any type (the words "official" were never used) -- just not a neck gaiter, and explained why based on the info above. He agreed to go buy a mask and said he would be right back. 30 minutes later, I called to ask where he was, and he told me that he left the job and was not coming back! He said someone could come back tomorrow - when I responded that I am not available tomorrow, he said he would call me right back. Well, he never called back and no one responded when I called or texted. By the way, even before today, just as the other reviewer also experienced, no one ever answers the phone when you call - ever. read more

I was looking for an installer to mount 2 tv's and hook up a sound surround system. I left messages for them twice, but never got a response. It reflects the character of a company whether they consider they feel any obligation to respond to inquiries. If its unimportant to them to call back, even if they are currently booked tells you something about their integrity and whether they are customer centered. read more

We scheduled for 9 am. I received multiple email and text reminders about this appointment (including that day). No one showed. I tried to call, the mailbox was full. I tried to text, no response. I never received a message about anyone running late or even needing to reschedule. I took off work and my husband cleared his calendar for this installation. Such a disappointment but unfortunately more common than not these days. No excuse for treating paying (and reviewing) customers. My husband and I run our own business and value our clients' time and trust. We've all been there: burned by Best Buy. I've owned my flat screen TV for years, but as a renter I didn't want to bother with hanging it on my brick wall. When I moved, my mother recommended I get the Geek Squad to install it, and I have already documented that terrible experience. Smart TV redeemed my faith in this industry. When I called Samson, it took just moments to set up an installation time the same week- and he was on time. He had all of the equipment he needed, including the mount itself and some extra HDMI cords. He was thorough and quick, even though my wall proved difficult to mount because the space between walls was too narrow- he sawed down the nails so they'd fit and helped me adjust to the television to the optimal height. I received an email confirmation for the appointment then I received a text a dew days later asking if they could arrive an hour earlier. Smart TV Installers never arrived and didn't respond to repeated texts (their preferred method of communication), emails or phone calls. That's unfortunate and extremely unprofessional. We called on a Saturday afternoon after realizing there was no way we were going to be able to install 2 flat screen TVs ourselves. We got Sam, the owner, and he was able to come out a few hours later to do the install. He did a great job cleaning up after himself and working with the existing mounts we had. He quoted us a great price that was on par or cheaper than many of the other locations that we found online and weren't going to be able to come out until later in the week. Outstanding job! We needed to mount a new 65" on the family room wall in a rush because we had people coming over the next day to watch a movie. So we called Sam who was extremely kind to add it to his busy schedule at the end of the same day. He came even earlier than anticipated, did a perfect job and charged a very low price compared to Best Buy or other large companies. He masterfully hid the AC outlet and cable, and was able to tilt the TV just enough to have the perfect view angle while sitting on the sofa. The TV is now up on the wall and looks simply great. I wish there was an option to put zero stars! I have never in my life experienced service like this before. I called and made an appointment with him.....not only did he not show up..he never even called to cancel OR answer my phone calls. He then texted me hours later and apologized saying his charger had broken and phone died (which was a lie because his phone was ringing) but I decided to give him another chance when he offered to come the next day because what can i say I am a pretty forgiving person. He did not show up for the second appointment and did not call or text me and still ignored my calls and texts AGAIN. Then texted me hours later saying he had a big job......I was so angry I have spent two evenings waiting for this man to show up and do his job and he had the audacity to offer to come a third time. He is very unreliable and unprofessional and lets just say this is my first time writing on yelp. Having moved from Anne Arundel County to Montgomery County, and being forced by circumstances to shift from Comcast to FIOS, you better believe I needed help with a full surround sound setup. Sam is the Man! He was delayed by a long appointment and weather, but came at night anyway, and worked until he was finished installing my HDTV and surround sound system, including setting up towers for the speakers, running wiring, etc. He was pleasant, efficient, and very professional, and the charge for the work he did was very reasonable. About a month after he installed my system, I had a problem getting audio, and Sam came out right away and fixed the problem promptly, again with a great attitude. In a time where service industries of all kinds are just performing abysmally, I can honestly say Samson and Smart TV are a complete pleasure to work with, and I will not hesitate to recommend Smart TV to anyone and everyone who needs high quality, expert assistance with their audio-visual needs - you cannot go wrong with Smart TV. read more
