They make a pretty good burger. Nothing transcendent -- no ballads will be written about them, no poems composed. I do like the haystack style onion rings, and the fries with rosemary are pretty tasty, too. However, something has gone wrong with their management of the customer experience. The wait in line to place your order is ridiculous; we stopped eating there for quite a while because of it. Eventually they developed an online capability to pre-order for take-out, or we would never have come back here to eat (that said, I should note that the staff seems to have a lot of trouble keeping track of which orders were placed online and which were placed in the restaurant, which doesn't inspire confidence; just assign unique order numbers, for heaven's sake...) The kids seem to gravitate more towards Smashburger than the nearby 5 Guys -- and Smashburger does have a more upmarket feel -- but I don't think their burgers are any better, and 5 Guys not only takes your order much more quickly, they offer you gobs of roasted peanuts to munch on while you wait (a nice, homey touch). read more

They do also offer roasted brussel sprouts which is a green thing to clease out your grease. The fries? Well the regular fries need work but they do make up with their garlic flavoured fries and sweet potato fries. If ever you want a true fast food establishment. I specified no extra salt in my burger because I already had the blue cheese and as everyone knows it's already salty. #3. Farheed was my charismatic order taker. Awesome kid! There was a rather long line for 2PM. There were but a few tables available. And it seemed that no one cared. Some people were ordering food and chatting as if they were being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon. No one batted an eye. If this was a McDonalds, someone would have, by now, thrown several F-Bombs. By the time, I got to the counter, it was my turn to laugh. He would ask for items from his co-workers. They gave him 'good face'; translatable as oh no and get it yourself because we are busy too. The air was light, but it did not affect expedience from order taking to expediting orders. The burger and soda was under ten bucks. The beer, as an add on was another five bucks. Not bad. The manager that was expediting the order skipped my burger, a few times. But Farheed had his back. The well done burger was cooked and served under eight minutes. The food was great! I had a bean burger my boyfriend had the buffalo chicken burger. However service was slow. Long lines at the register, had to repeat my order 3x to the cashier who by the way appeared to be the manager don't know if he was annoyed or not paying attention. Their was no ice in the machine, warm soda several tables were not cleaned. It took at least 15 mins for our order to come. The table next to us had the last diners tray sitting on it for about 20 mins. The waitress who cleaned the table knocked over the remainder of a milkshake it was all over the floor and seats. She never returned to clean up the mess. The manager walked by the mess 2x , the waitress who brought our food also ignored the mess and the same waitress walked by it as well. I came to this smash burger with my husband awhile back maybe a year or two and the service was so slow the manager gave us a coupon for one free burger, chicken sandwich or salad which had no expiration date and had a store number on it with the managers signature. My husband and I were going to fairway and decided to stop in and get a bite to eat. We walked in to find puddles on the floor which is really gross, there was only one person working the register and a decent line. We planned to order 2 meals and 2 sides but we walked out instead because when we presented our coupon the woman at the register told us that they no longer accepted those coupons, so we asked to speak to a manager. The manager Maurice was absolutely not helpful at all. He explained to us that they have updated their system and now they use new coupons with scannable QC barcodes, which we completely understand but he was not willing to honor our non-expiring coupon regardless. We told him it doesn't have an expiration date so we don't understand why they wouldn't just scan a new one for an equivalent discount but he just kept saying "yeah I know but we can't take those coupons anymore." So he was just unwilling to discount us the one burger. We found Maurice to be absolutely ridiculous and rude how he preferred two customers to leave unhappy and without spending a single dollar in his store. We have been to many smashburger restaurants before and never had issues but this specific location has forever lost us as customers.... read more

Always been a favorite of mine to come here. Such a limited selection of good food joints 2g2 in NYC compared to back home in Louisiana. You can literally change anything on the menu and create a custom meal. Such fun! I had the grilled chicken with melted Swiss and mushrooms, but skipped the bun in favor of the lettuce and spinach. Fast and delicious. Not sure what the other reviews have seen; probably messy patrons more than the restaurant itself. The staff were friendly and fast, the tables cleaned after every patron left, and the burgers tasty and served remarkably quickly (although to be fair I got chicken rather than beef). My boyfriend ordered the regular classic with fries and a milkshake and he finished his burger so I'm assuming it was good. They do get busy during lunch hours so there may be a wait.
