The place is good, solid. Pretty much everything served is good; clearly owner knows food. Salads great, burgers and pork sandwiches solid. But last we were in the owner appeared to have instructed the wait staff to come and tell me that outside water bottles were not allowed in the restaurant. I mean it was warm, I have a condition I am battling that requires constant hydration and so I always have a 16 or 20oz water bottle in my hand. I eat out probably 500 times a year for the last say 25 years so say more than 10000 eat outs and have never been hassled about drinking water I had in process to stay healthy, so this is kind of an extreme outlier to me. We haven't been back since and likely won't ever go back even though we live in the neighborhood, since it just so destroyed the vibe to be hassled over a 50 cent bottle of water. We generally tip 30 to 40% even on $100 plus bills so it is just in my view a dumb business decision to hassle over something like that and lose what I would guess is $2500 in revenue from this customer a year. For sure the owner can run the business however he wants, but doubt the hassling behavior is increasing revenue for him. read more

I've had food with AJ's a few times. My first experience was at a party, where AJs was the caterer, and I was impressed with the variety and taste of the food - everything from pigs in a blanket, sliders, a salad, and pasta. My more recent experience was with delivery. Overall, I was still very pleased with the food. The burgers seem to be a guaranteed slam dunk. My pulled pork was very tasty, but in comparison to the size of the burgers, it felt a little more mediocre. This is absolutely the best burger I've ever had. I was driving through New Rochelle on my way to Boston and stopped for a bite based on all of the positive Yelp reviews. We were seated and served by an older gentleman who I assumed was the owner. He had a fantastic personality and was joking with me and my boyfriend the entire time. We both devoured our burgers and fries and agreed that this was one of the best burgers we've both ever had. It got busier as we finished up and it took some time to get our check, which we didn't mind, but because of this our server brought over two free orange sorbets as well as the cannoli cream cup dessert to go. This was such a nice gesture and we were already more than happy with our experience at AJ's even before the freebies. However, we did really appreciate our servers care for his customers. Overall, I'd highly recommend this restaurant as it was incredible and somewhere that my boyfriend and I talk about often. My wife and I went out to AJ's Burgers and got the Garden (veggie) burger, baked french fries, and broccoli rabe. We were not disappointed. Great music and decor, good service, and the food was really tasty. The burger was huge, a little too big for my taste, but maybe that's you're thing. It was also crumbly and a little messy to eat. The flavor was good, especially when you add the chipotle mayo. If I were them, I would swap out the onion slices (or put them on the side) and add some avocado... that would be my dream veggie burger. The potato wedge fries were delicious -- we asked for them to be baked to avoid them being fried in tallow, which we don't eat. I can't believe it took me to long to discover AJ's Burgers. Our server Anisa delivered exactly what we ordered. Burgers were delicious, caramelized onions were actually caramelized. My family and i decided to try A.Js Burgers and it did not disappoint. Just from the smell of food on the grill that greeted us, we knew we were in for delicious food. Came here with a large party for Mother's Day. They were very accommodating since we came late, right before closing. They put us in a 8 seater table by the window. Great spot in the cut, I loved it. Also, it wasn't busy and we got the red carpet treatment. I met AJ the owner and his daughter who was our waitress. They were both incredible. Super personable, friendly, social and patient since we had kids with us who were a little picky. The menu's are online and on the table. All the food came out hot. A few of the items people ordered at the table, they weren't fans of once they tried them and they immediately removed them from the bill and offered other options, no fuss no muss. We had multiple items: garlic knots, regular cheese burger with onions, lettuce and chipotle mayo, garlic parmesan truffle fries (delicious, cooked crispy like I prefer), Whiskey sours (needed a little more whiskey, but still good in my opinion), chicken tenders fries (very good), caprese (wasn't bad), bread, clams, salmon, and a couple of other options. Everyone loved their full meal or at least something about it. They asked about desert and everyone was stuff, so they gave us some brownies to take home, mine didn't make it all the way home. Shhh! We have been going to AJs for years since we first moved to New Rochelle and our kids were small. It is always a welcoming atmosphere with good food. Tonight I had the opportunity to appreciate them even more. I ordered dinner online through their website for delivery. Easy and cheaper than through the apps. However, the food is delivered via Uber and despite getting the texts that the driver was on his way, close by, etc. our food never arrived. I texted the driver, no response. About 25 min after it was expected to be delivered, I called the restaurant. The woman who answered was super nice, tracked down the food (the Uber driver left it at the wrong house), and remade the order immediately. They included dessert on them and refunded the our order. AJ himself delivered it within 15 min. You cannot beat that for customer service (and dinner was excellent)! read more

He works with the employees to make the experience over the top. He kept bringing samples of food to the table . Never had such a good experience like this before .
