I ordered a hamburger and a little Cajun fry. I used to frequent this location all the time but it's my first since the renovation. When I went to swipe my card it asked me about a tip. I asked the cashier why it's asking me for a tip and the lady repeated the comment to me about what the screen was showing. I specifically stated to her "No" and swiped what I thought was for $17.77. I had a weird feeling about it so when I got home I saw the cashier gave herself a $5 tip. This is poor service, not the way to do business and am asking for this to be looked in to immediately. Besides the toasted sesame seeded bun you get 2 hamburger patties and this time I got lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions, ketchup , mayonnaise French fries. Popped in to five guys today after seeing the TikTok review of the grilled cheese sandwich with patties. I received excellent customer service I wish I had taken her name. She was amazing. Ordered a double patty. Grilled cheese with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and grilled onions. I went ahead and got large Cajun fries and a salted caramel milkshake. The burger is a definite 10 out of 10 customer service was a 10 out of 10 but the fries were a one out of 10 they were too many fries and they were not good. I don't think they would've been great. Had they not been Cajun and spicy I just think it's not good fries the place was empty and clean and it's fast food so there's no ambience to speak of but definitely go get the grilled cheese. I would not go with two patties next time. that was too aggressive but one patty with whatever toppings you want and you will have a delicious burger. read more

Incompetent workers. I ordered through the app and it said it would be ready in 7 mins. I get there in 10 mins. The app is under my name, but My husband ran in to pick it up. One of the best locations in the Bronx. I'm always greeted with pleasant service. The peanuts left out are always fresh. The fries are always fresh, hot, and nicely salted. Love how you can build your burgers to your preference. The milkshakes are nice and thick. Don't know what kind of ice cream they use but it's smooth and creamy. I did have a recent issue they left an item out my to go order. Called them when I got home and the person who answered was very sympathetic. I didn't know why it was a good idea to have Five Guys the weekend after Thanksgiving - like by body hasn't gone through enough abuse :-p Five Guys is good, there's no doubt about that. The burgers are huge, juicy, and messy - don't kid yourself thinking you'll be eating healthy by coming here. I utilized their online ordering system which worked pretty well - I liked that you could totally customize your toppings, the whole process was pretty seamless. Burgers come standard with two patties, if you want a single patty choose the "little" options. You can also get your burger in a bowl or a lettuce wrap in lieu of a bun. While burgers are the obvious star of the show, they have a small selection sandwiches as well. The fries were pretty good, but not my favorite. The best part for me about the fries is that they have no qualms about giving you way more than what fits in their containers - tons of bonus fries in the bottom of the bag. Overall, I'm a fan of Five Guys - Shake Shack is still my favorite of these fast food-ish burger places, but compared to its competitors, Five Guys is near the top. This may be the best Five Guys in the Bronx and Westchester area. The ones in White Plains always seem to give me burnt fries. I say that that to say this I have never received a terrible fry from this location. The burger themselves are always on point. My biggest joy at this location especially is there customer service. They never seem to mind to most reasonable request. They will also work with you here with making the secret menu items off of the menu. Food was the same as all other chains. No actual complaints about service. The woman who took our order was pleasant and kind. Our only complaint is in reference to the workers having loud conversations over us while eating. By that I mean, while one is by the sod the machine, another is sweeping the front of the store and someone in by the frier... they're going back and fourth about whose closing, who will clean out the out and refill the Mayo. Those are understandable conversations to have, I just think they should be discussed between themselves not shouting loudly. I'm easily triggered by sounds, but my hats my personal issue I work though daily. But... but there was this one guy... he was a megaphone. His voice and laughter was mega boosted and vibrated the space. Now I'm only writing this review bc the conversation went from their job duties to then discussing, hooks bars and "going it for the gram" while I'm trying to eat with my child. I waited over 20 minutes for a burger and fries, while waiting for my food I noticed the store had greasy floors and potato bags stacked across the stores floor. I finally received my food to realized my burger was cooked to a crisp and my fries were cold. I mentioned this to the cashier about my issue he stated I would need to wait behind 5 people to have my concern addressed, Unbelievable I said I have an important appointment and can not wait that long, he replied you I'll need to wait. First time trying Five Guys. I was expecting better. This place is like a glorified Burger King. I had a "Little Bacon Cheeseburger" and a small fry. I personally did not enjoy the fries at all. They were generous in their serving though. The burger was pretty good but the bacon was disgusting. The bacon seemed old, like it was laying out all day, and it was burnt to a crisp (to the point that it was inedible). If I didn't have bacon on the burger I would have enjoyed it 10x more. A huge plus is their Coca-cola Freestyle machine! You don't see that in many establishments. The counter worker taking my order was pleasant, as were the other guys behind the counter. The dining area, however, did not seem clean. I was sitting there for about 45 minutes and not once did a worker come to the floor and wipe down the tables...and they have a pretty fast turnover on tables, so I was hoping they would be out on the floor more often wiping tables between sittings, but no. It actually made my dining experience worse knowing how unclean the place was. The whole time I was cautious of touching anything. They also have a limited menu. I was actually hoping they had like a chicken option or a veggie burger option, but they unfortunately do not. Strictly burgers and hot dogs. They do have a "veggie sandwich" option, a "BLT" option, and even a "grilled cheese" option, but really that's It. I guess I'm just spoiled from places like Smashburger. My order of a "Little Bacon cheeseburger", small fry, and soda came out to almost $15. Now don't get me wrong, I am known to spend crazy amounts of money on food, but for what I tasted and experienced, I was better off going to Burger King for half the price, or just end up going to a good diner and getting the real deal. All that being said, I wouldn't mind giving them another shot because I did enjoy the burger, minus the gross bacon!..and I enjoyed their Coca Cola Freestyle machine. I'm confused. I had gone into a Five Guys Burgers in Manhattan a few months back and walked right out because I balked at the $12 pricetags on the burgers, without fries. Now I feel crazy because these burgers in Pelham were only $6 and my sister tells me it's always been so. You pay for the burger or cheeseburger and all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, sauteed onions/mushrooms, bbq sauce, mustard, pickles...tra la la) are FREE. It gets pretty messy if you are overzealous like me and order a burger with everything, hold the tomatoes. They have veggie burgers too, but I don't like going out on a limb with vegetarian "meats" unless it's free (i.e. generous vegetarian friends or church potlucks) :) Apparently the default is a double patty burger. For a second there I thought they just liked me but my sisters discovered the same with their burgers. They have cajun and regular fries in regular and large. Order the regular in a regular. I wasn't in love with the cajun seasoning and the large cup is BEASTLY. My sister and I, with our endearingly bottomless stomachs, wanted to share a large and we were struggling. You have a cow in one hand and 10 potatoes in a cup...it's hard. There were still fries at the bottom of the paper bag. I'm love burgers and I enjoy five guys. I do have my other local hambugers. I don't eat hambugers every week but every few months when I am in the mood for a burger I like to come here or to shake shack. My husbands first time coming here and he enjoyed it. He loved that they didn't charge you for every topping like most places do. The one that passed the test for me was my daughter. She is a picky eater and at most times will leave her food or pick off of our plates but she finished her burger way before I even had a chance to take a picture of it lol. My husband liked that it wasn't fancy, he always says you don't need fancy to make a good burger and boy was he right. You actually feel like you are hanging out at a picnic or bbq. They have boxes of salted peanuts for you to munch on while you wait for your order. I'm giving it four stars even though they got my order wrong. I went back to the counter and the guy not only apologized but offered free bacon lol. I'm a meat lover so this was an added plus for me. We will definitely be coming here more often. read more

Five Guys makes Shake Shack burgers and the entire Shake Shack experience an epic waste of time. I've been wanting to come here for ages, and I've passed by nearly all their other New York locations. Since my summer vacation is drawing to a close, I decided to finally drop by and see what all the fuss was about. The line was pretty short (around 1 PM on a weekday) so the order was taken. Prices are a little expensive, but far cheaper than its counterparts. Bear in mind: a regular cheeseburger is actually a double, so I ordered it to share. Also, the REGULAR fries are enough to share. It's a cup of fries, but it's STUFFED. Your bag will be full of fries that you will have to dig through to find your burger. The orders do take a while to be made, but I find comfort in that knowing my meal wasn't roasting in the sun for days. While you wait, they have free peanuts and soda choices and refills up the wazoo. I don't know what Pibb is exactly, but it's good! They also earn points for playing EXCELLENT classic rock. On to the meal: the burger was scrumptious. It tasted like a burger made at home. The portion was hefty, the meat was moist, and the cheese was melted well. Grilled onions and mushrooms add a savory touch (free mushrooms for the WIN!). The fries were crispy and potato-y, with just the right amount of salt. This location just opened within the last few weeks and I finally got a chance to stop by this afternoon... ...And holy shit was it mobbed. Not quite Shake Shack mobbed, but it was seriously busy. I normally wouldn't wait 15 minutes to order my food and then another 10-15 for it to be made; but I was starving and I had gotten myself so worked up to eat Five Guys that there was no backing out because of a little line. The interior is arranged so that after you place your order you step to the right and queue up on one side of a glass partition where you can see the employees making your burger on the other side. The only problem is that you can see them screwing up your order. Because of the glass between you, letting them know is an awkward process that involves tapping, hand signals and/or sign language. If that all fails, shouting. I know it was packed but, despite a lot of staff, the cooking and food preparation was painfully slow. There was one guy doing a final check of each burger, wrapping it, taping the receipt to it and finally walking it over to place it in bags. Every order in the line was backing up on him because he had so much more to do than everyone before him. There's gotta be a better way to do this. Maybe it seemed slower because I was forced to stand there and watch it unfold. On to the food. The burger was great, as Five Guys always are. It was actually less greasy than the other locations I've been to. Unfortunately the fries were undercooked and I ended up tossing most of them. Huge bummer because their Cajun fries, when properly cooked, are the absolute best fries in the world. It just opened and they're probably having some normal growing pains compounded by massive crowds. I trust they'll have their act together very soon. I was impressed that the manager was taking a very active role in making sure things were going smoothly. It seemed like every time I looked up he was in a different place. From expediting the order pick-ups to attending to a customer at the other side of the restaurant. Yes, Stay on the line while you read my review it's worth the wait!!....I found it by mistake as I stopped at the Vitamin Shoppe and Fairway to get groceries hidden in the corner tucked a bit towards the back I saw Five Guys?? No way!! but as I passed every week until finally I found it open and it was so packed I came back the next day to have my first "little" hamburger. There is nothing little about it but you might want to get two of them they are soooooo goood!!...The regular hamburger has too much meat stacked up ..two layers of beef making it HUGE...but for those that can handle it GO FOR IT!!..I'll stick to getting the little one....there is no mystery in this meat it is 100% beef, tasty, juicy and grilled!! I went here this afternoon for lunch with a friend. I'd been to Five Guys in the city years ago but this was my first time at this location or at a Five Guys in general for some time. I ordered a little cheeseburger with the works....ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, a-1 sauce, and grilled onions. I also ordered fries and a small drink. The cashier was very helpful in taking my order letting me know that the "small" sized fries were actually a big serving after I told her I wanted the "regular" sized ones. She also let me know that "little" in terms of the burger just meant that it was a single patty versus the regular burger which came with 2 patties. I assumed "little" meant it was a kids size so I'm happy she let me know. The burger was very juicy and well seasoned. The onions were also perfectly cooked. The fries were also hot and salted just right. They have 2 Coca-Cola freestyle drink machines which are great cause it let's u perfectly create whatever drink u want at ur own pace. If u don't like it, u just simply start over. All in all, everything was great including the service from the cashier. Her name was Abria. I withheld a star cause the seating area wasn't clean and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite sum time. Random trash on the tables and spilled soda on the floor making it sticky to walk on. Huge fan of Five Guys. This is a great location too, we come up here to shop at the Fairway and BJ's fairly often and almost every trip includes a meal here. Service is usually quick and efficient, we've never had to wait long even when they are super busy....For those of you saying it took awhile, you do realize they are cooking your food to order correct??? This isn't McD's...you gotta give 'em some time. 5 stars for the burger. One of the best you can get, and the locations are all very consistent. I also love the whole idea of one price and throwing whatever toppings you want on there. I get a different burger every time. As many have pointed out, the regular is a double and the little is a single...choose wisely(double!). 3 stars for the fries. I know, I know, everyone loves these fries, but I'm not impressed. I was estatic when I heard they were opening up a 5 Guys within a 5 min drive from me.. So far I've been lucky where I haven't had to been stuck on a line that moves at a snails pace..I get to the front place my order for a burger(lettuce, tomato, raw onion and mayo/ketchup) and large fries(which they always ask me if I'm sure on that cause the large is for 2 people and whatnot) I assure them that I'll survive(mmmmmmmmmmm FRIES) and I ask for a small drink...free refills is the word..and they have Pibb Xtra which to me is like an addiction I normally don't get to satisfy! While the burgers are filling and tasty I wish the fries had more of a crunch to them..So far they've been a bit soggy, BUT they overpile the fries in the bag so theres spillage..So just when you think you're done..Theres a few more in the bag to scarf down! read more
