This place always hits the spot when I'm hankering for a burger. I always order the children's cheeseburger because it's just the right amount of food for me. The menu says it only comes with cheese, ketchup and mustard, but you can add veggies. Yum! read more

i've personally only been once, way back in the day when i could still eat a burger without gagging. sure they're pricey, but the burger was good. i got the baja burger. jalapenos were fresh, you get a good amount of food and the fries were very tasty. this is a hot spot for my dad and if i could handle beef still, it'd be one of my top places for a burger. for fast food, it's pretty good quality. i'd like to have their fries again or get a chicken sandwich. hm. read more

One of the first things we noticed when we moved to Denver was the abundance of burger joints. We started our search for the best burger with SmashBurger and enjoyed it so much that we haven't gone anywhere else! We took our order as carryout, so I can't really comment on dining in, but the food is yummy. The Haystack onions - delish. The burgers - super tasty and cooked just right. We do the build your own burger thing and have not been disappointed. A great place where the hubs and I can both go and both be equally satisfied. read more

Bad value. greasy. too expensive.. i can find a double cheese at Burger King or MCdonald's for about a buck... why pay 5 - 8 dollars !! Will not return. Too expensive... I came in and ordered a cheddar bacon big burger the service was okay, they took a while to make it which is fine so long as its made right but honestly this burger was a couple notches below big smoke burger and larkburger and so is the inside and outside of the place. The red is corny and overplayed I didn't see any tvs or a beer list. The food is pricey and doesn't even taste very good. I don't get the poor reviews. We ate lunch there today and all was well. The service was prompt, accurate, and friendly. The fries were not warm when served and were replaced pronto. I remember when these first opened in Colorado, and it was one of my favorite burgers. Boy have they changed. The burger patty is smaller and was overcooked. The SmashFries use to be a favorite of mine - they are now skinny shoe string size and too greasy. Have they stopped focusing on quality and shifted to building out the franchise. SO Greasy. Seriously. Burger drips, fries are greasy for like no reason, and hard. How do you mess up fries? Overall, just not very tasty as well. I left this place with a seriously upset stomach, and I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. It's cheap but...not worth it! read more

I was pretty disappointed. I went mid-afternoon to pick up a quick meal. It felt like there were 10 employees working and about 10 customers and still the service was slow and flawed. They forgot to include my fries in my order. The guy was very apologetic about leaving them out which was very nice but I only ordered fries and a burger so it was a weird oversight. The food was also pretty disappointing. The Smash fries were dripping with olive oil which overpowered the potato. The black bean burger was not put together well and just generally disappointing. I have tried a different SB in Chandler, Az and it was awesome..i dined in with a group...HOWEVER, this particular location is not up to par..I arrived late afternoon..ordered for myself and friend.. My guy wanted a shake..I watched the gal make it and she only put about 3/4 in the cup and filled it past the top with a tower of whip cream.. She proceeded to hand me my to go order and walked away with the rest of the shake I PAID for and began eating it with a spoon.. Didn't even hide it. Secondly. The burgers were prepared wrong and missing add ons... So we wont be ordering from this location.. and not sure we would even go back to any location.. 1 bad customer experience can be costly..so i hope they can step it up a notch.. read more

So I enjoy trying new burger joints, and seeing as how I hadn't been to Smashburger yet, I thought it was the perfect time to try when my craving hit for a good and satisfying burger! I had been told they have pretty good burgers and fries, so I ventured on around 6:30 on a Thursday evening. They were fairly busy, so I knew the food would be fresh. The staff was friendly and prompt. I ordered the bacon, bbq and cheddar cheeseburger, the rosemary and olive oil fries, and a oreo milkshake. The shake was fine, but nothing amazing. However, the burger was way too salty and greasy...yes I know I am eating a burger and they are greasy, but this was greasy in the bad way! The fries were also very greasy and lacked flavor sadly. I didn't finish either, because I felt sick about half way through my burger. Don't waste your time here, it will only result in an upset stomach! read more

My wife and I love smashburger and have gone to this location many times in the past 3 years. I actually reseached whether it was part of a publicly held company so I could buy its stock, we were so impressed (it is not). In the past few months, though we have been disappointed with this location. The last two times we were there, most of the staff were cleaning (moving tables around, mopping, etc), basically closing the place down. Both of these times it was around 8pm, and they don't close until 10 pm. When I asked for a milk shake, the person mopping went to make it without washing his hands. We have also noticed the general attitude among the staff to be much less friendly and attentive. The attitude is not bad, just average, but it used to be great. We have also recentl been to the location at 120th avenue in Thornton, and had great expereince. read more

Well, I walked into this placed ordered a BBQ, bacon, and cheese burger sans the BBQ with a side of shoe string onions. Then I proceeded to have a bloody nose for the next 10 minutes. Once I had my dry little Texan nose cleaned up I proceeded to devour my meal. I say devour because not even a bloody nose could keep me from this perfectly cooked burger (I did not think it was greasy). I really enjoyed the egg bun and the sweet quality. This was my first time at smash and I hope we find a way to get one in Austin TX so I could enjoy one on a weekly basis. This smashburger gets bonus points for soft paper towels. read more

This place was dirty to the point of being unhealthy. I don't like seeing waiters clean a floor then handle food without washing hands. Or clean the floor and a table with the same rag. This Smashburger is just OK. The wait is usually very long and sometimes the burger I receive is very salty.

Much like Five Guys, Smashburger is a fast-casual burger joint with high aspirations that has exploded across the US recently. They have the distinction of starting their business in Denver, and I was able to go to their very first store on S. Colorado Blvd. Smashburger replicates some of the trends of the new fast-casual burger places popping-up with a list of burger "creations" that feature various topping combinations. I was feeling in a classic mood and went with the Bacon Cheeseburger, which comes with Applewood-smoked bacon, American cheese, yellow mustard, ketchup, pickles and onion on an egg bun. All burgers are in the $6-$8.50 range (a la cart), depending on what you want on it. Now I'm trying not to be too biased with the next part of the story. So my two least favorite foods on planet earth are ketchup and cucumbers (which means I hate pickles). YES I KNOW that hating these two condiments make it difficult for one to accurately rate a burger. But as we all know those condiments, and specific condiments in general, are not REQUIRED to enjoy a great burger. Ok, so now that that's out of the way, I always have to make it a point to ask for no ketchup and no pickles. If I forget to ask, well then it's on me of course. And if they forget and add pickles then it isn't the end of the world because I can obviously take them off (although pickle juice residue is definitely a detractor). BUT if it's ketchup, well then all bets are off and it can't be salvaged. So I'm used to making a point to list these condiments as no-nos during the ordering process. After order, I sat down, checked out the receipt, and noticed that there was nothing on the receipt to indicate no ketchup and no pickles. Some places have that and some places don't, so I walked back up and talked to someone behind the counter. I said that I had asked for no pickles and no ketchup on my burger, and just wanted to double check that the order when in with those stipulations. He took my receipt, looked up the order, and confirmed that it indeed went into the system as I had asked. Awesome. So I sit back down and wait for my order. The same exact guy that I had spoken with delivers my order to my table, making sure to note that it doesn't have pickles or ketchup on it. You can probably guess where this is going, but I open the hood to find EXTRA pickles and EXTRA ketchup (Ok maybe it just looked that way...). So now I have to take it back to the counter, and be that guy the gives the order back, even though I had even double-checked to make sure. I finally get the right order, but I'm already biased at this point. Luckily the same guy behind the counter was very apologetic, and even gave me a coupon for a free burger on a future visit. Did that right the ship of my cognitive biases? Maybe it did, and maybe it didn't, but I think it helped. At the end of the day the Smashburger was good but not great, and pretty much what you would expect. Much better than fast food, good quality burger patty and toppings, but just didn't have that spark needed for a spectacular burger. read more

This place is over hyped! Service takes wwwaaaaaaayyyy too long. We got there about 10 minutes after they opened. Only 2 couples ahead of us. It took 25 minutes for 2 burgers, fries & onion strings. My god, did they just get done killing the cow! How long does it take to grill a burger. The price is also very high. There are far better burgers in town that don't cost $9 - $10. read more

Oreo Shake is worth it.... Burgers always good here. The only downside is by the time you get a salad or fries, and Then a shake you'll be paying close to or over $15..... so it can be a bit on the expensive side if you order extras. Overall the burgers are worth it! read more

I have been to this location a couple of times. I have always eaten at the restaurant. Usually I am happy...... I always get the same burger (mushroom swiss). I went and got take out for my entire family. The burgers were extremely salty and greasy. Our fries were old and cold. I ordered a large sweet potato fry and feel like I was short about 1/4 of the order. So unhappy! read more

This place has good food however, if it's after 6pm, they won't answer the phone to take a to go order. I have a new baby and I prefer to call in my order before I get there so I don't have to wait. On several occasions the phone just rings and no one will pick up. This is just bad business. read more
