I had never been here because I kept hearing how expensive it was an overrated. Well, after glancing over the menu one day I cannot disagree more. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and I got the classic burger as it comes with cheddar. My husband got the special burger of month. I cannot remember the name of it. Both of our burgers came out hot, juicy and packed with delicious ingredients. Mine was messy but that is the way I like it. I had to cut it in half to eat because it was just so messy. Great burger! I was craving burgers and this place hit the spot! I got the magic shroom and my partner got the voodoo Mac. They were both incredible! I did feel a bit bloated after which may have been my lactose intolerance talking with the goat cheese. The truffle fries were absolutely fire and I wish I had room to eat the whole thing on my own! We had 2 people in our party put a dent into the fries but were unable to finish. First time trying the Wagyu Smash and pleasantly surprised by the toppings. Everything except the huge bowl of truffle parm fries you must buy if you want them. My air fryer does not reheat fried foods well so it's a waste for two people. The happy hour is the real reason you should go! Located in the 9th and CO area, very busy with plenty of street parking. There is also a parking garage close by that offers free parking. My friends and I were catching a movie at the AMC across the street so we stopped here for a quick dinner. We got there and realized we were still in time for happy hour! 1/2 off cocktails, beer, wine, and sliders Monday - Thursday 3pm-6pm! We all got the sliders! It was four sliders topped with American cheese, caramelized onions, and Alabama comeback sauce on a kings Hawaiian roll! The cashier was nice and helped customize the sliders as well. They also brought them to our table. It was a little loud but that's to be expected during happy hour. The sliders were hot and juicy! Very filling for a great price too! We got some Parmesan truffle fries to share as well :) those were nice and crisps with plenty of Parmesan topping. Came in with my 8 year old who loves burgers. The restaurant is really cool. Walk up ordering, an assigned table, huge bar in the middle, TV screens all around. We both got the Classic cheeseburger, mine with bacon, a side of fries, the Parmesan Brussels and two fountain drinks = $48. Not too bad compared to other burger places. You definitely can tell the beef is seasoned differently than other establishments, which K noticed immediately and wasn't really a fan. I thought it was okay. A sweeter taste than normal. On top of that, it was so greasy, he couldn't finish it. We wrapped a napkin around it and it was soaked in grease. However, the Brussels made up for it. We both agree this is one of the best places we've had Brussels. He usually doesn't like the bitterness but there wasn't the strong aftertaste here. Hopdoddy Burger Bar is a national burger chain. They have locations all around the country with most of them residing in Texas. This is their second location in Denver, sitting right off the busy intersection/shopping district of 9th and Colorado Blvd. The wife and I popped in here after an appointment not really knowing what we wanted to eat. This location is well kept and maintained, fairly clean, and lots of seating, including outdoor seating. You order at the counter, are told where to sit (which I thought was odd), and your food is brought out to you. Doddy Melt // two smashed patties, Swiss and American cheeses, caramelized onions, mayo & Comeback sauce on grilled rye bread. I'd say this was good, not great. The incorporation of American cheese was hitting real good, making for ooey gooeyness, but everything else felt a little underseasonsed to bring it all together. I also thought the rye bread (classic for a patty melt which I appreciate) was too overpowering for the burger patties. French fries are hand cut in the restaurant every day. They are served in a gigantic bowl and even for two people you might not be able to split them all. They were indeed crispy, but left a bit to the imagination. The chipotle ketchup had an interesting smokey flavor. The honey mustard sauce slaps, definitely get a few sides of that! I will say, they do try to keep it more local here with Red Rocks murals and local beers on tap. The beers come in a big 20 oz. mug that threw me off guard as it hit the table. It PAINS me to write a review like this for this place. When I first went to Hopdoddy in LODO when they opened it was amazing. I used to go there often until the pandemic started. After moving across town and realizing that there was ANOTHER Hopdoddy SUPER close to my house, of course I stopped in. The first time was just for some takeout sweet potato fries and a shake it was fine. Good. Great. So, I told my friend who is an older veteran who loves to eat and who is on a fixed income but wanted to take me out, that we should go to Hopdoddy. I REALLY played it up, because , well I trusted that I could. They had a good track record, and the recent order of SPF were bomb. So, we each ordered the classic, his medium, mine well. They were cooked fine. We both ordered a mini chocolate milkshake, and that left a lot to be desired. It was more like liquidy chocolate milk, which would have been fine had it been chocolate milk, but everyone knows that there is nothing worse than a partially frozen, mostly melted chocolate shake. Then came out the fries. We ordered one large side parm truffle and a side sweet potato fries. Instead, they brought out all parm truffle, which they made right, although the sweet pot fries didn't come out until we were half done with our burgers. No one offered to take it off the bill or make it right. Both orders of fries were WAY too salty. (we even heard the people behind behind us talking about how their food was way too salty). Now, let's get to the burger. I used to say they were the best burgers I had ever tasted. This burger was so over salted I couldn't tasted anything except salt, and I LOVE salt. In fact, I think the chef probably just had a heavy hand when it came to the salt. So, all in all, it was a huge disappointment, especially for $60. You know, when I pay that much for food I expect it to be a bit better. Also no one came back to see how it was, which I didn't really expect since it's not a true sit down place. I think a burger is such a simple food that I was honestly baffled with how disgusted I was with the burgers here. To have as many locations as they do, I would expect Hopdoddy to make an ok burger. I just got a classic burger with regular fries as my control test - the patty was somehow pink but completely devoid of any moisture, as if it's been frozen for years before cooking. The burger was saturated with so much mayo I had to take some out to make it edible. The fries were dry as well and a bit flavorless - think In n Out fries but worse. The portions were huge but when the quality is that low I really don't want more of it. I also dislike online ordering that requires me to create an account. My husband and I recently had lunch here. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We were a little surprised at how quiet it was given that it was lunchtime, though we split the sweet potato fries and they were outstanding like really good. we also shared a, hot chicken sandwich and another fried chicken sandwich that we just asked for it not to be hot because I wasn't sure how hot was gonna sit on my stomach. Love this place! Especially during happy hour!! Each month, Hopdoddy releases an exclusive monthly burger. Some of them are a hit, some are a miss - but the February burger, which was a sushi burger, will forever be on my mind until it returns. The food here is really good! I highly recommend El Diablo burger if you're into something spicy! They do not mess around with bringing the heat. Fries are a 10/10, regardless of which ones you order. Everything is delicious. Also, check out the Brussels sprouts! So good. The service here is always great. The staff is so friendly! I've never had a horrible experience with anyone. The drinks pack a punch. It's certainly not your average watered down margarita. They are good. They are strong. They will get you tipsy! I do recommend going during happy hour and sitting at the bar, as everything is 50% off when you sit at the bar, as of today 9/12/2023. This could change. The cashier was awesome , good energy and recommended varies items . We decided on an Ahi burger seared to perfection with teriyaki, cucumber wasabi and topped with ginger ..thank me later . Also ordered their sweet potato fries and dare I say it's the best sweet potato fries ever ...hot honey and sage and ask for well done and it was perfection ! Also tried their new green chile fries which were delicious but the sweet potato was our favorite. Hopdoddy has a ton of seating at this location and there is a free parking garage nearby. You order at the counter and they give you a numbered booth to sit at and someone brings by your food. The burgers with a plethora of toppings are really good. I had a mostly plain cheeseburger because I wasn't feeling adventurous and it was just okay. The fries are my favorite, especially the loaded ones. They come in a mixing bowl with all the toppings on them and you can just mix it as you like. Tasty burger and fries. DON'T GO IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES. The kitchen paid absolutely NO ATTENTION TO THE ORDERS. My entire party stated "no onions". All 4 burgers had onion. My son-in-law has a serious allergy to all alliums, including onions. When he let the server know that, and asked for a new bun that didn't have onions (same burger), she brought out the burger in a new bun -- with onion. He had to take medicine immediately on our return home. Ignoring identified allergies is a terrible thing for a restaurant to do, and to do it twice smacks of serious inattention in the kitchen. We can't return until your kitchen staff can assure us that they will make food as ordered. read more

I am a fan of the original location near Union Station. We popped in here after a film at the nearby AMC. My burger had a lot going on. Indeed the bacon jam was good, but dominated the flavors. This was the DOUBLE BACON JAM (two 1/4 lb beef patties topped with both white & yellow American cheeses, house-made tomato bacon jam, mustard grilled onions & pickled mayo). In the future, I will probably stick with my EL DIABLO burger (with pepper jack cheese, roasted habaneros & serranos, caramelized onions, salsa roja, lettuce, tomato & chipotle aioli sauce). This is definitely a fast casual environment so you won't be here forever which was a perk. The BBQ ranch French fries came out first. Long before the burgers. This was a little strange to me. I want to eat my hot fries with my burger. We couldn't do that, but the fries are loaded with seasoning. A little salty so I dipped them in the ranch to tone down the salt. The burgers are buttery on a great bun topped just the way we requested. The burger beef was good. Their staff was busy cleaning and making polite conversation. I liked that everyone seemed to care about the restaurant and didn't appear to be just killing time and sling burgers at us. Even the table busser stopped to talk for a second. I love the fresh food here! The nacho fries are delicious and are definitely enough for two to share. The fries have a kick because of the seasoning on them but if you don't like that then the queso and sour cream will cool it right down. I got their Diablo burger, wowza this is hot! The fries here are absolutely amazing! There is only one size and it's HUGE. It comes in a big metal bowl and there are so many unique flavors. I had the hot honey and sage sweet potato fries and they were fire. Spicy, yet sweet and oozing with flavor. I appreciated that they had a veggie burger and it was huge! We ordered the ahi burger, the Doddy melt and the crispy Brussel sprout leaves. The service was good. You order before you sit down and the guy taking order was fun, as we like to joke around. He played along wonderfully. The ahi burger and the Doddy Melt were delicious. I would order either one again. And I know I will be craving either one in near future. Yummy. However, even though the crispy brussell sprout leaves are exactly what they say they are, I needed more of the brussell sprout itself to satisfy my palate. I like my brussell sprouts crispy, but without the whole brussell sprout to enjoy, I was left with just a salty, burnt taste. While I do like the salty, burnt taste I needed a healthy dose of brussell sprout flavor long with it. Didn't get that. So, I throughly enjoy the Hopdoddy burgers and will be back again soon. But won't be ordering the sprouts. I love that there are plenty of paper towels available at the table. The burgers were delicious and messy. No disappointment there. Full disclosure- I only recently started eating burgers so this was only my fifth one. However, I've had 2 of those 5 at Hopdoddy (not on the same day ) and I can easily say they're the best ones I've tried so far. I discovered that I'm a big fan of "dressed up"burgers-- aka more than just a basic patty + L.T.O. and condiments. Hopdoddy has exactly what I'm looking for! Especially as a #glutenfree foodie. My first burger here was the Llano Poblano. That was probably my favorite so far. It's very savory but the sauce is very slightly sweet and tastes amazing. The burger is cooked to perfection too-- still juicy but not too pink (the way I like it!). This time I had the El Diablo. Don't get me wrong, it was great. However, it's quite spicy for my tastes, which I usually like, but wasn't as in the mood for as I thought I'd be. So just keep that in mind when ordering. Both burgers were made gluten free and I have to point out the gluten free buns are 10/10 good. Good gf bread is rare to find at any restaurant.
