Came here because I heard they were awesome and better than another smash burger spot in silver lake. Was it better? No, BUT it was just as good and now I don't have to drive all the way to silver lake to get an awesome smash burger. I got their single combo with fries. The burger was perfectly cooked and their sauce was really good as well. Tasted like in n out and raising canes sauce combined. Their fries were nice and crispy, just how McDonald's should taste like. They are halal as well. Definitely check them out if you're passing by Balboa Park. read more

Was skeptical because of all the other burger pop ups I've been to Cool enough I arrived to a lot of parking I was greeted by the owner, George super cool guy! He recommended I do the double with house sauce the relish I didn't have to wait in line for long 5-10 mins my burger very very good. Smashin indeed! One single, one double, and one fry. Total came out to ~$30. Delicious, great service, food came out quickly! They are working out the details with the menu, pricing, and various other things as they transition to the brick and mortar from the pop up experience but I'm excited for a tasty smash burger nearby! Parking is limited but not a problem in the evening when we went, there are 5-7 tables--some 4 person tables and some 2 person tables. Bathroom was clean and well stocked. read more

Tried Smashin Sam's for the first time and it did not disappoint! Had the double combo and it was Delicious! Crispy edges, cheese was perfectly melted, and the quality of meat was great! One of the best burger spots in LA These guys went from a pop up in Noho to a store in Van nuys. Great burgers. Highly recommend the choppy Joe. Meat and cheese chopped up with yellow peppers for a little kick. Lots of parking spots available in the plaza. Customer service is friendly. read more

Just when I thought this burger couldn't get any better... it somehow does. The crispness alone is next level--honestly haven't had a spot nail both texture anddd flavor like this. The original is great, but personally I skip the caramelized onions since I'm not big on the sweetness. My go-to: double double with fresh chopped onions and extra pickles. Trust me--it hits. Pro tip: eat it right there. It's still solid if you take it home, but that perfect crispness is best fresh. Also, seeing this place grow from a pop-up into a full brick-and-mortar has been amazing. It was my first time here today and the food is so good! I've had a ton of smash burgers and most are super greasy, but these are not. I will 100% recommend this place to everyone. I had the choppy Joe and my son had a double combo. The service was amazing!
