For all the Smashburger places in this area, be prepared because there's a new kid in town, and it's called Smashin Sams! This is a really cool little burger spot tucked into the corner of a shopping center. The inside has a fun vibe with cassette tapes and surfboards decorating the place, and everything is open so you can see the staff taking orders and the burgers being cooked right behind the counter. What impressed me just as much as the food was the owner. I met him while I was waiting for my burger, and what a great guy. He greeted me with a smile, thanked me for coming in, and even offered me a free bottle of water while I waited. And this was right in the middle of the lunch rush while he was cooking burgers, helping his staff and thanking customers as they left. He took a minute to tell me the restaurant was created in honor of his dad, which I thought was really cool. He also told me about the cassette tapes and his skateboarding days when he was younger. You could tell this place really means something to him. Now let's talk about that burger! I went with the Double with everything on it. Two smashed beef patties, cheese, grilled onions, house sauce, pickles and the rest of the toppings loaded onto a soft bun. The first thing I noticed were those crispy edges on the patties. They were perfect! The beef was smashed super thin on the grill and those edges came out dark, crispy and full of flavor while the middle still had plenty of juiciness. The melted cheese and grilled onions were great with it, and the pickles and house sauce added even more flavor. The bun was soft and lightly toasted, which was perfect with those crispy patties. There are plenty of Smashburger places around here, but this one definitely stood out to me. Between the burger, the atmosphere, the staff and meeting the owner, I had a great first experience. Went out to grab a quick burger and WOW! I have to say, this might be the best burger in the Valley! I went all in with the triple patty, and OMG it was absolutely amazing. The quality of the meat was incredible: fresh, juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The bun was beautifully soft and fresh and held everything together perfectly. And the fries? No, BUT it was just as good and now I don't have to drive all the way to silver lake to get an awesome smash burger. I got their single combo with fries. Was looking for a place to eat after my son's football game and came across Smashin Sam's. My boys and I love smash burgers so had to give it a shot and glad we did. Store had a very cool vibe with nice art and cassette tapes on the wall, had to explain to my kids what those were. Staff was welcoming and helpful with making our decision. Got two doubles and a triple along with some fries. Smash burgers were delicious and you could tell high quality meat with amazing sauce and the fries were on point. I wanted to try out this new place after I saw a post on Instagram. We had the single burger combo which included the burger, fries, and a drink. For your drink, you could choose from cans of soda, water or iced tea. They had no straws or cups, so you had to drink from the can. The smashed burger was about as thick as a credit card. If I knew that, we would have ordered a triple. But who wants to pay 20+ dollars for a burger combo? The fries were good, but nothing special and the sauce was Thousand Island dressing. I tried really hard to find something negative about this place but I can't. The staff and service is fantastic. Pricing is very fair as the portions are as expected for this fast casual spot with its own parking lot. A clean and tidy restaurant that has one of my favorite if not my favorite smashburger. Burger is the most crispy I have had without the heavy greasy feel. The house sauce resembles the McDonald's Big Mac sauce. In the future, I will get 3 patties since the patties get smashed down so well it gets very thin. You can add chopped chilies as well. Was skeptical because of all the other burger pop ups I've been to Cool enough I arrived to a lot of parking I was greeted by the owner, George super cool guy! He recommended I do the double with house sauce the relish I didn't have to wait in line for long 5-10 mins my burger very very good. First timer visiting SmashNSams. Ambiance is straight forward classic burger joint with some really nice street style designs. Owners are super friendly and the service is great. The original is great, but personally I skip the caramelized onions since I'm not big on the sweetness. My go-to: double double with fresh chopped onions and extra pickles. Trust me--it hits. I used to love this place back when it was at the gas station. The quality just doesn't feel the same. The sauce taste completely different and it was my favorite sauce.
