It's important to have an office staff that is friendly, down to earth, knowledgeable regarding completing and submitting insurance and related paperwork and Christina and Special are the 2 gracious and competent pillars that keep the dental dance going at Dr. B office. It's important in today's many stresses coming at us to have a friendly, calm, positive, and engaging staff & Special & Christina are just as helpful and encouraging and optimistic as one could hope for. Jesus christ where do I even begin? i started going here when i relocated to the area about 5 years ago, and they were good at first. However as time went on things got weird. I was told i had 10 cavities one visit (mind you, i have had very little cavities my entire life so this felt odd). I began the process of getting them filled. One tooth was still hurting afterward and the filling was sticking out from my tooth roughly, so i went back in to get it fixed. They tried filing it down and in doing so cracked my tooth. I was then told it could not be saved, and they would need to do a root canal and give me a crown. Because of all this extra work and expense, i did not complete all the other fillings i was told i needed at that time. I was also told on several occasions that i had deep pockets in my gums which required a deep cleaning. They took xrays, supposedly to send to my insurance for approval, but never heard back. when i went in for my next routine cleaning they once again told me about the deep cleaning and i reminded them that they were supposed to be getting approval for me. It seemed there was no record of that happening. No one could tell me what happened to the previous xrays or whether insurance approved, but then had the gall to make me go through this process again only for it to be abandoned for a second time. Never heard back from them. i finally go so fed up with them over this and other bullshit like canceling my appt literally when i showed up there, that i decided to go somewhere else. At my new dental office, i told them about the cavities and deep pockets; they examined me and did xrays and told me I HAD NO CAVITIES OR DEEP POCKETS. It became clear to me in that moment that Smile a Bit was scamming me and now i am questioning the necessity of the work that i did have done there. After years of going to this practice with my kids, everything was great. Than things started to take a turn. I was told I had certain teeth filled with no fillings, filling that fall out and I just received a bill in December 2024 for work that was done in 2022. Because the past biller wasn't doing her job as I was told, I called to have this looked into and a woman named Special was going to look into it and call me back, now my next calls are from collections for the amount owed. Why is this being sent to collections? No call back or rebilled? What? This is just crazy to me. Between me and my 3 boys where there many times, and still never given a bill. Honestly, not sure what happened to this dental practice. Used to be okay, but recent personnel changes have not been for the better. As another reviewer mentioned, they send bills months after providing service and will not accept contracted fees from insurers. They threaten sending you to collections even though the insurance says you've paid the right amount. My insurance is investigating their unlawful practices, and I've filed a complaint with the state licensing board. Expect they'll be out of business soon. Scammers! Zero stars. read more

Went in to see if they could help me they took no information from me I signed and got no paperwork at all. They brought me in to this woman who was the dentist and all she did was complain that she does not have an Oral Surgeon and Joe hard it is to find a good one in the area because she was from New Jersey! She did nothing to me or for me but complain. She told me there was nothing she could do for me and I was ushered out of the office! Never did they advise me while making the appointment nor when I was being ushered out. 2 months later I get a bill in the mail for $125 consultation fee! I called and they were rude like when I was there and said that is their police well show me where I agreed to that because I would have never made the appointment knowing this. My whole family's been going here for years never had an issue until recently. I've had one of the best insurance plans that New York State offers for over 20 years, never once have I ever had an issue until this place. They waited years to file claims for my daughter's orthodontic work and now the insurance doesn't wanna pay, who could blame them. After months of arguing back-and-forth with them and the insurance company (the insurance company says it's their fault for not following the claims within the time the Period Required) they are now expecting me to pay over 10 grand in regular dental work and orthodontic work. Which is absurd the dentist are OK but the office managers act like they have something better to do than their job. Would not recommend this place to anybody unless you're willing to pay for all your work out-of-pocket. I don't know what's going on over there, but somebody needs to get it in order. read more

I've been there 3 times and all 3 times have been an issue. First, after I am in chair with novacaine, the receptionist comes in to tell me they are going to do two crowns instead of one. This has now doubled my cost. The second time, they want me to pay in full, after previously telling me I can be on a payment plan. I don't carry that kind of money. Now I come back and the crown that they have worked on the past two times, is too short. So now I have to go back. They are rough and assuming and do not explain anything they are doing to prepare you. So very unprofessional. If it wasn't for insurance purposes, I would not have work completed. I had a smashed mouth from an accident Dr. Al fixed my 4 front teeth great, then left me in the care of Dr. Elaina Vergier. A brutal woman who doesn't listen, doesn't care, man handles, bruises and does unnecessary work. NOW her so called "professional care" has cost me a tooth (Smile a Bit was suppose to pull , but wouldn't) and a root canal from another dentist. $10,000's later and a mouth that is missing teeth and hurts. read more

went in with little pain to get fillings done to correct pain, left with more pain than before fillings and can't even eat on that side that was worked on since, it's been almost two months and dentist who tried to correct fillings done by him, with no success. correction was drilling my teeth with no numbing in that area. I see cavities still in the area last worked on. Also couldn't make it to an appointment and they wanted to charge me $50. read more

This is a great practice. I have had 2 crowns and a root canal and it has been top-of-the-line! A breath of fresh air compared to so many money hungry dental practices I've been to.
