I have always seen dentists and hygienists who made me feel badly about my teeth (they are very small, I have a small mouth, I grind, etc) and who seemed to imply that any dental issues I experience are my fault (grinding is not something a person can voluntarily control, and certainly I couldn't control my genetics). Dentists in the past have grabbed my face and mouth, stretched my lips apart roughly, taken X-rays in a way that cause sores in my mouth from being jabbed by the blocks that are inserted, and done injections of novocaine in a careless and painful manner. NONE OF THIS PAINFUL OR INCONSIDERATE TREATMENT HAPPENED HERE. I am so grateful for this! Dr Grover did fillings for me and fitted me for a night guard, and always followed up to make sure I was doing okay after treatments. After moving to CT several years later I reluctantly found a dentist who accepted my new health insurance and was hit with a bill for an additional $300, despite having only a cleaning done. After this experience I have decided to drive the 2 hours each way to return to Rhinebeck and see Dr Grover because her care is thorough and considerate and her FEES ARE REASONABLE. My wife and I found this new dentist office through our Insurance company and Google Reviews…read morebecause of our old dentist retiring and issues with the old dentist office procedures. For a first visit we noticed this dentist office was more technically advanced than our old dentist with more modern equipment. We are taking off a star because Dr. Kay doesn't deal with the business side of things which can be a good thing because then he can only worry about the best treatment for your teeth instead of being distracted by the business side of things. We found out from the office manager is is one of several locations owned by two dentist brothers. The one star down is because they do not have a sliding scale for low income people and charge New York City Prices in Dutchess county. The insurance companies are able to negotiate a discounted price but if you need major work and are on a limited income and have trouble covering the deductible they don't negotiate on a sliding scale do to your income but rather refer you to care credit so you'll probably be dead before you pay off your dental care. With the volume of patients running through this place they could have a little more compassion for lower income people or even donating some dental time back to the community. I'm not very happy with the business side of things but will update on future visits as the work I need will take time that my last dentist couldn't get to because he was to busy.

Then when someone does answer the phone, they put you on hold for a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes before they will answer your call. They do not follow through. They do not call when things Are problematic or they have issues with care plans that they have written for you. The staff are extremely limited, extremely overworked and not able to maintain a practice of that size. Don't get your dental work done there because it's not grade a dental work better to pay out-of-pocket and have decent teeth and go to this place and let inexperienced subclass Dentist work on you and staff that don't give a shit about you one way or the other, really not a good experience would never go back. Better to take a loan and pay off the dental work and go to a real dentist and a real place that will answer your telephone calls follow through with your care plans and work with your insurance company this is not the place!!!

I was told by Jeffrey that it needed to come out and I was not a candidate for an implant because my sinus cavity was too close to my bone. ( This office does not do implants). So they he suggested a partial plate which I thought was for the one tooth. But Mo he wanted to extract a perfectly good tooth on the other side for the partial to work. I believed him and proceeded. he installed the partial plate so tightly that within 2 years it had loosened the tooth the partial was attached to! He told me not to worry there was new material and he would make a new partial for 3 teeth! this story goes on and gets worse. Also I had recommended Jeffrey to a friend because of the great cleaning and lead fillings removal I had gotten. She went to him and had a disaster like I later had - quit him but never told me! I now having to have 3 implants for $12k - Yes I am a candidate for implants. This lying Dentist caused me to loose 3 teeth. I wish everyday that I could Sue him - but you know how it goes suing dentists!! Don't go to him or his wife Maureen

He is very gentle ( I get my work done without anesthetic lol!) and he is conservative in his approach so he has never done any damage to any of our teeth ( which has happened with other dentists) the office and staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly and everything is spotless! I am very particular with my dentistry ( a bad dentist can cause irreparable damage) and am very happy that I have such a trustworthy doctor watching over my dental care! ps he also was able to remove my mercury fillings the "right way" for less money than another leading dentist quoted me.

When I balked about the high cost, the dentist actually said that I had to pay for "chair time"! WTF?? The final straw came when I suggested having a small, removable partial made for a lower missing tooth. They took impressions, yet never asked me to look at the color of the tooth replacement for my approval. Sure enough, when I returned to have the partial fitted, not only did it not fit properly at all, but the color was way off! This partial was to cost me another $3,500, but I refused to accept it after the bungling dentist here could not get it to fit me. I also asked why they had never conferred with me about the color. After muttering amongst themselves for awhile in the back, the front desk woman came back and said "We'll call you"...which was their snarky way of telling me that unless I accepted this $ub-quality dental appliance, they don't want me as a patient anymore. So, I'm out $1,500 and need to find a new dentist just to fix the botched-up mess they made in my mouth. Dr Chuan and her staff took care of my sad broken tooth, and spent a lot of time educating me on dental care. The way I was treated was as though this was boutique dentistry and I was paying tens of thousands of dollars yearly to have them at my beck and call. (Sorry ... life and death got in the way)! I had a root canal done by Dr Zhi Wei Cheug yesterday. He was gentle and kind and explained exactly what he was doing. He was constantly asking if I was in any pain and showed genuine concern throughout! I'm so glad I made the move! First dentist that I wasn't afraid of! He and his entire staff put you at ease and made me feel calm about the procedures.
