I'm sharing my personal experience at CDA to help others make informed decisions about their dental…read morecare. I'm using an alias to protect my privacy since I'll be discussing detailed health information in this post. In January 2025, I began treatment at CDA and agreed to a full-mouth restoration from their recommendation, which cost me $40,520. I was told that this would provide a long-term solution to prevent grinding and give me a perfect smile. Although I had some initial reservations, the large number of 5-star reviews influenced my decision to go forward, hoping for the permanent solution to my grinding. However, my experience did not meet the expectations I was led to believe. In January, Dr. Barras removed all of my natural enamel at the direction of the director/dental assistant and the non-practicing dentist/owner, who create the treatment plans. In February, I underwent four extensive procedures when it should have been only one because the same canted crowns were placed multiple times. The office attributed this to the lab sending the wrong crowns, but I had to endure the discomfort each time. After the crowns were initially cemented, I experienced constant and severe pain, especially while eating and drinking. Over the course of several follow-up visits for pain, the director/dental assistant claimed that my pain was due to my bite even though my main symptom was temperature sensitivity, so she continued having the treating dentist do multiple bite adjustments with no resolution to my pain. Unsatisfied with the repetitious explanations yet unable to get resolutions to my pain, I sought second and third opinions from unaffiliated dental offices. The outside evaluations suggested that my ongoing pain was likely due to open margins from multiple crowns not being seated correctly, and that excess cement had been buried into my gums, which they said most likely contributed to the development of 8-10 cavities in a short period of time. CDA never disclosed these possible issues to me, even though X-rays had shown cracked crowns from my first permanent appointment in February. Due to my teeth decaying quickly (possibly from the excess cement) and the extreme pain from open margins, I was told I needed to have the entire work redone. This has caused me significant emotional distress and financial burden, as it will cost me more than double what I initially paid. I was also told by other professionals that a full-mouth restoration isn't always a permanent solution, as CDA had stated, meaning more costly and painful dental work may be necessary in the future after I'm done with the current restoration redo. Another challenge I faced with CDA was the difficulty in obtaining my full dental records. Despite several requests, the documents I received seemed incomplete and inconsistent with my recollection of my appointments. I noticed discrepancies in the records, such as additions that never occurred and exclusions of things that did, with many notes focusing on aesthetics, when most of my visits were related to pain management. I requested a refund multiple times, and although one was eventually offered, it came with conditions, including signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), releasing them from liability, and agreeing not to report my experience to the dental board. Given the issues with the work I received, I did not feel comfortable signing these releases. As a result, they informed me I could not have the refund unless I signed. I received a cease-and-desist letter from their attorney last month too when a review was posted about my experience which was later reported by the business for deletion. For that reason, I am leaving out a lot of details about my experience. Last week, the attorney verbally agreed to give me the refund if I signed an NDA without the liability release, which I said I would agree to, but then they sent another liability release which was never part of the verbal agreement. Ultimately, I encourage anyone considering major dental work to get multiple opinions and ask detailed questions from independent dentists about the necessity and long-term viability of the proposed plan. If you have already received care from this office and are experiencing complications, I highly recommend seeking an outside evaluation from a dentist unaffiliated with CDA. I hope my story encourages others to advocate for themselves. I did not have the luxury of reading reviews like this before choosing this business. I spent many sleepless nights in pain while reading the glowing reviews, wondering why my experience was so different. Now, after this long and painful road, I wonder if others have had similar experiences but were unable to speak out publicly. My experience with NDAs, reported reviews and a cease-and-desist letter has led me to believe that transparency and honest feedback about dental care are critical, and I hope this helps others navigate their choices more confidently.

From the very first consultation to the final placement, the entire process was smooth, professional, and surprisingly comfortable. The team took the time to understand exactly what I wanted -- a natural, bright smile that still looked like me, just better. They matched the color and shape perfectly to fit my face, and the attention to detail was incredible. I was nervous about how they'd feel or if they'd look artificial, but they feel completely natural and look flawless. What I love most is how confident I feel now -- I can't stop smiling! Friends and family keep complimenting my teeth, and most people have no idea they're veneers (which is exactly what I wanted) If you're on the fence about getting porcelain veneers, I say go for it. It's one of the best investments I've ever made in myself!!

My favorite part about this dentist is that during my cleaning I was given a choice to pick a Tv channel to watch. Never before have I had this and I loved it because I didn't have to stare at the glaring light like at other dentists I experienced. In terms of the staff, the front desk personnel were very cheerful and welcoming despite it being 8AM in the morning. My tooth cleaner Cassidy did an amazing job at cleaning my teeth and made sure to let me know the spots where I need to brush more. Lastly, Dr. Ho the dentist was very detailed and made sure to give me a complete rundown of my teeth. He also described what my breathing canal looked like as well as a couple prone areas for cavities. Overall, I have no complaints and I was very satisfied with my experience here.

I live in Westlake, I work in Westlake, I have teeth, and I like eating at Hat Creek Burgers…read more For providing an important medical service at a convenient location with a baked-in excuse for yummy fast food, Dr. Ho should, in view of the above facts, be a slam dunk for a five star review. That said, I feel compelled to give Dr. Ho a three star review. Dr. Ho is a nice guy, and definitely seems to "know his teeth." However, to continue with the dental metaphors, the lingering taste in my mouth from my visit was one of irritation with the practice's inefficient, time intensive workflow, which IMHO, completely negates the convenience benefits of the practice's location, and for the reasons set forth herein, doesn't really make sense from either a dental care or business perspective. My routine cleaning and dental exam took over an hour to complete, with at least twenty five minutes spent poring over 3-D scans of my skull and teeth, and Dr. Ho discussing how the 3-D scan showed that one of my sinuses was fully blocked. (regrettably, the fact that only 50% of the cost of the 3-D imaging would be covered by my insurance was not part of the discussion). Fascinating stuff, that rundown on my nasal passages - but a bad use of my time when I'm breathing fine, my teeth don't hurt and I've got to run back home to ferry a toddler to daycare. Further, about 15 minutes into the discussion of 3-D scan of my head and teeth (including asides on the state of my sinuses), Dr. Ho went from being generally sanguine about my dental health to going back and forth as to whether he saw a cavity . From this, I conclude that there is some probability I have a cavity, and we should definitely keep a close eye on one or more of my teeth. By my math, my dental visit was made ~20-25 minutes longer and $150 more expensive than it needed to be due to the long winded review of the partially out-of-plan 3-D imaging. From a business and prophylaxis standpoint, the better move would have been to skip the 3-D imaging, and to the extent x-rays presented a tricky question of whether I have a cavity in need of attention, move up the date of my next checkup to keep an eye on my possibly latently janky tooth. We'd all win this way. I'd get back my precious time, insurance would have paid for everything, and Dr. Ho would easily recapture the revenue from the $%^&-ing out-of-plan 3-D scan in future cleanings and visits. Further, if routine cleaning/checkups proceeded quicker and did not include a partially out-of-plan 3-D scan as a matter of default, I'd be inclined to send the rest of my family to this practice, so we could all get our teeth done and go for burgers afterwards. But so long as such a visit would foreseeably take four-plus hours and cost me $600 for the uninsured portion of four 3-D scans, that's not a sensible option. That said, I'm a reasonable guy, and if presented with evidence of shorter visit times and making the 3-D imaging optional, I'd consider updating this review and returning to this practice, as Dr. Ho appears to be a thoroughly competent dentist with an uber-convenient location.

I got referred…read moreto Mike Williamson by my dentist and was initially apprehensive as he was out of network with my dental insurance, but went for a consult anyway. Dr. Williamson operates a very smooth-running practice. Every staff interaction I had (front desk, nurses, techs) was excellent and you can tell there's just good teamwork going on here. I made a special request for my surgical operation and was super grateful that Dr. Williamson was willing to accommodate it. He and Sarah had excellent bedside manner during my operation - it went quick and painless. The recovery was (somewhat predictably) miserable for the first week. I had a few questions about the discomfort I was experiencing and was so appreciative of the staff that went out of their way to proactively check in on me and get answers. They even reached out to Dr. Williamson about one issue on his day off which they didn't have to do. Just had my post-op today follow-up today, a couple weeks later, and everything is in great shape. Despite the challenges in recovery so grateful to have this out of the way and gums that are good to go (as Dr. Williamson put it) for life! Though the office will still bill insurance for you, I could have saved some money working with an in-network provider. However, I think this operation in particular benefits from Dr. Williamson's wealth of experience - my understanding is there's a lot of nuances in sourcing and shaping graft tissue. Some things are worth spending on!

He delivers a great dental service, is gentle, and makes a usually (historically for me anyway) painful and horrendous process easy and painless. You don't have to worry about your purse strings because he is also honest. His secretary and dental hygienists are also nice people and easy to talk to. It's like they genuinely want to be your friend. Furthermore, if you are afraid of drilling or having your teeth cleaned he has gas that can prevent anxiety. He will walk you through the process and make sure you're ok before he drills. I recommend him to everyone I know who needs a dentist. On another note, sometimes judging a good dentist/doctor has a lot to do with the company they keep. I'll repeat - his staff is excellent. All around a great experience. Trust this guy.

Someone else would take over the practice, but a dental "hat trick" of finding three good family dentists in a row wasn't likely. Enter, Dr. Aldo Ronci. Ronci looks to be younger and therefore perhaps less experienced than he actually is. (I even asked him how old he was - if he was irked by such an intrusive question he was mature enough to conceal it.) I was happy that he didn't rush the visit, and showed genuine concern, not only about my teeth, but pocketbook too. Ronci's dental chair is extremely cushy. I don't know much else about dental equipment other than his looked advanced enough to do everything but cook dinner. Dentistry has come a long way since days of yore when dental drills were only slightly less jarring than a jack hammer. More importantly, I found Dr. Ronci's work to be meticulous and very nearly pain-free. He even managed to tame my dread of the Novocain needle (assisted by hygienist Denise's calming hand-pats). The front desk is manned by Cynthia and Lei, who greet each of the patients like the friends we have become.
