A Practice That Betrays Loyal Patients - Beware I have been a faithful patient at Enamel Dentistry Saltillo for years and previously left a five-star review--but after my latest experience, I can no longer recommend them. Scroll to see the picture of my tooth with a chip after a cleaning. Negligence: A hygienist hit a tool against my teeth, chipping one. Instead of taking responsibility, they called it a "right place, right time" situation and framed fixing it as a "courtesy". The dental assistant didn't even state what happened. I had to go look in a mirror to see that the giant smack to my teeth resulted in a chip. Deceptive Billing: They framed my filling as a "courtesy" but still billed my insurance. If it was truly free, why charge my provider? The in office person said " they had to charge my insurance so if I get dental care elsewhere they can see what I had done". Why wouldn't I just send my medical records? Retainer Scam: Their mistake made my night guard unusable, and instead of replacing it, they ground down my tooth and retainer for 50+ minutes before I requested a replacement. It was uncomfortable and I had concerns about continuing to grind at the filling and retainer in regards to the integrity of my retainer and tooth. Fake Discounts & Cheap Materials: They claimed a "significant discount" on my new retainer, but they were actually charging full price for half a set--and only offering an inferior, in-house material instead of the high-quality Guardian material I originally had. My product only needed to be replaced due to an injury to my tooth sustained by a hygienist at this practice. Dismissive & Unethical: When I pushed for a fair resolution, they told me to go elsewhere rather than fix their mistake. I used to trust this office, but their negligence, deception, and refusal to take accountability make them a hard NO. If you value honesty, take your business somewhere else.

I came in for a whitening and was blown away by this office. Not only is it located in a central and convenient location, but the office itself is beautiful. The artwork on the walls and the friendly staff really make this dental office feel like a comfortable lounge. After checking in for my appointment I was offered Nespresso or sparkling water while the room was being prepped. My whitening procedure was 20 minutes long but the time flew by! There are three screens in the room (2 directly in front of the chair and 1 on the ceiling) and I was able to chose any Netflix show while I was doing my whitening but even if you're not interested in watching anything, the music in this office is amazing! It was so difficult trying to sit still for 20 minutes because all I wanted to do was dance! My teeth have never been whiter and I feel so much more confident when I smile now. I seriously could not recommend this office enough. Dr. Gulati and his team really made me feel so special during my visit and I can't wait for my next dental appointment (never thought I would say that haha!)

Most recently, I had an unexpected dental emergency involving a salivary gland infection. Dr. Bernal was able to get me in quickly, thoroughly evaluate the issue, and help relieve the pressure by draining the infected gland. What could have been a stressful experience was handled with professionalism, skill, and genuine care. Throughout the years, Dr. Bernal has always taken the time to explain things clearly, answer questions, and make me feel comfortable in the chair. His entire team is friendly, welcoming, and consistently provides excellent care. If you're looking for a dentist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly looks out for his patients, I highly recommend Dr. Bernal and the team at East Austin Dental.

Duyen is a wonderful hygienist, gentle and non-judgmental about my terrible flossing. I'm lucky to not have any major issues but my wife recently had to have an old crown replaced (put in by her family dentist back in CA) and she was very happy with their work. These guys are honest and old school (but tech-forward where it makes sense). No unnecessary upselling or over-treatment, which I appreciate.

I got referred…read moreto Mike Williamson by my dentist and was initially apprehensive as he was out of network with my dental insurance, but went for a consult anyway. Dr. Williamson operates a very smooth-running practice. Every staff interaction I had (front desk, nurses, techs) was excellent and you can tell there's just good teamwork going on here. I made a special request for my surgical operation and was super grateful that Dr. Williamson was willing to accommodate it. He and Sarah had excellent bedside manner during my operation - it went quick and painless. The recovery was (somewhat predictably) miserable for the first week. I had a few questions about the discomfort I was experiencing and was so appreciative of the staff that went out of their way to proactively check in on me and get answers. They even reached out to Dr. Williamson about one issue on his day off which they didn't have to do. Just had my post-op today follow-up today, a couple weeks later, and everything is in great shape. Despite the challenges in recovery so grateful to have this out of the way and gums that are good to go (as Dr. Williamson put it) for life! Though the office will still bill insurance for you, I could have saved some money working with an in-network provider. However, I think this operation in particular benefits from Dr. Williamson's wealth of experience - my understanding is there's a lot of nuances in sourcing and shaping graft tissue. Some things are worth spending on!

This review is long because it reflects many months of treatment and ongoing consequences. I took…read moretime to write it because I genuinely wanted to believe this practice was competent and cared about its patients. Unfortunately, my experience showed the opposite. When I first came in, my teeth were not in good shape. I had not been to the dentist in years and knew I would need significant work, including fillings, a crown, and likely a root canal. Because of this, I specifically asked to be seen by an experienced dentist. Instead, I was scheduled with Dr. Biggs, who according to the practice's own website had graduated only nine months earlier. The work she performed caused lasting damage. Nearly a year ago, I received two fillings on my upper left teeth. To this day, I cannot chew on that side due to severe pain. For months, the only solution offered was repeated bite adjustments, filing the fillings down multiple times with no meaningful investigation into the cause of the pain. After seeking multiple second opinions and transferring my full dental records, including before and after imaging, I was told by other dentists that the fillings were not done properly and likely caused nerve damage. This assessment was consistent across providers and aligned with the ongoing pain I have experienced since those fillings were placed. During a later visit for a cleaning on the lower half of my jaw, the hygienist was unavailable and Dr. Biggs performed the cleaning herself. During that appointment, she broke my permanent retainer. I felt it happen immediately and she was visibly startled. The dental assistant in the room, Ana, attempted to dismiss it and insisted it had already been broken, which was not true. She continued to tell me that permanent retainers are meant to break, which is false, and tried to deflect the situation with jokes despite how uncomfortable I clearly was. To Dr. Biggs' credit, she did take accountability in the moment. She temporarily sealed the retainer and personally walked me to the front desk, stating it needed to be fixed. However, there was no follow up, no resolution, and I later learned the practice does not even provide that service. It became clear the situation was being minimized rather than addressed. I continued treatment but requested a different dentist and was seen by Dr. Blythe. While she was kind and clearly more experienced, she was dismissive of the pain I repeatedly reported from the earlier fillings. During my crown preparation, she discovered I needed a root canal. That crown preparation left me severely swollen, bruised, and bleeding for three days. I was sent home without pain medication or antibiotics and was only prescribed medication after calling back to explain how much pain I was in. During these appointments, the same dental assistant was extremely rough, repeatedly pushing the suction tube against my jaw and inner cheek. This behavior was again brushed off as normal. The endodontist this practice referred me to was alarmed by the condition of my jaw. She was shocked that I had not been prescribed antibiotics or adequate pain management and told me that was not normal. Because of the swelling and inflammation, anesthesia did not work and the root canal had to be postponed. She prescribed antibiotics immediately. At that point, I was in constant pain, missing work, and emotionally exhausted. I sought another endodontist recommended by a friend, who reviewed my records and again confirmed that what I experienced was not normal or acceptable care. Despite this, I had no choice but to return to the original practice because the crown preparation was already done and insurance would not cover starting over elsewhere. When I relayed what the specialists had said, it was minimized once again. The crown I currently have remains painful and requires further evaluation. Afterward, I received repeated calls reminding me to complete additional work and warning me not to miss out on insurance benefits. Each time I explained why I would not be returning. Each time I was told the office manager would follow up. That never happened. The priority was clearly revenue, not accountability or patient safety. Eventually, I was offered a removable night retainer instead of a permanent replacement. By that point, after months of pain and stress, I was done. I have since obtained multiple independent opinions, all of which confirmed that what I experienced was not appropriate care. I spent significant money only to be left in pain and forced to redo work that should have been done correctly the first time. These high volume clinics prioritize profit over patients. If you value quality, accountability, and long term health, go elsewhere. I wish someone had warned me.
