They both have a special gift when it comes to working with children, and their warmth, patience, and kindness shine through in every interaction. What truly sets this practice apart is the way they care for my teens, who one has special needs. Dental visits can be overwhelming and stressful for her, but they go above and beyond to make sure she feels safe, respected, and comfortable. They take the time to explain each step and celebrate even the smallest victories with her. It's clear they are not only a skilled professional but also a compassionate advocate for kids with unique challenges. They have the most AMAZING! They answer your questions, show empathy and make it fun for all ages. My kids actually look forward to their dental appointments -- something I never thought I'd say! If you're looking for a pediatric dentist who truly understands how to meet every child where they are, I can't recommend this office highly enough. Plus, they have the best social media!

The dentist has discussed patients' oral hygiene out loud in…read morefront of staff and other patients on multiple occasions, which is unprofessional and disrespectful of privacy. This most recent visit had even more people present, making it worse. A prescribed fluoride product was explained but not presented as a choice--I was told my son needed it, it was brought out, and priced without asking for consent. The cost was also more than double what I later found for the same product elsewhere. I was also quoted nearly $7,000 out-of-pocket (after insurance and discounts) for removal of four wisdom teeth. We sought a second opinion with a specialist and completed the same procedure for under $1,000 after insurance. That kind of difference raises serious concerns. Additionally, it felt like every visit introduced a new issue that needed to be addressed, rather than providing a clear and complete treatment plan upfront. This experience felt more like pressure and upselling than patient-centered care."

I took her to Dr. McClure and he diagnosed her differently and explained her teeth had not formed completely but that she did not need to have teeth drilled and compromised because there was no cavity. He protected the teeth by sealing and likely saved her from having sedation/surgery and then years of discomfort down the road. She was also very, very fearful and he & his staff were so patient and gentle her fear just evaporated. I'm so grateful to have found this dentist.

From the start this office was the most inviting and welcoming dentist I have ever been in. Before we even got started with the cleaning and exam we sat down with the staff and they went over everything so my son would know what was going to happen. This made my son feel included in his oral care not just there to have somebody poke around in his mouth. Amy talked to my son and made him feel like he had a say in what happened. Dr McClure then came and introduced himself and did some magic that really made my son feel at ease. Then they brought my son back for his X-rays and cleaning. Ms. Sheila was so kind and gentle doing his X-rays and made the process very easy for him. Ms. Lisa is a saint that's all there is to it. While she cleaned my son's teeth she kept making sure he was fine and included him so he would understand what she was doing and what he needs to do to improve on for the next time. After the cleaning during the exam Doctor McClure again went through everything with us and gave us a report card that summarized what they had done, how my son was doing, and what we need to do before our next visit. I wish I had found this place earlier it would've saved me a lot of headaches over the years....

I feel it is necessary to share my recent experience working at Texas Dental Specialists to…read morehighlight the discriminatory practices I encountered, which appear to be rooted in religious and racial bias. As a highly skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), I joined this practice with the intent to contribute my expertise and grow within the team. Unfortunately, my time there was abruptly cut short under circumstances that strongly suggest discriminatory motives. Despite being punctual, professional, and recognized by many staff members as one of the most skilled RDAs at the practice, I was unexpectedly informed by the manager, Ashley, that I was "not a good fit" for the team. This decision came without any prior warnings, write-ups, or clear explanations. When I sought clarification, the only reason given was that I didn't "fit in," which seemed to be more about my race and religion than my job performance. The environment at Texas Dental Specialists was one where most employees shared the same religious beliefs and ethnic background as the doctor, Dr. Yousuf. As the only Black Christian in the office, I was often marginalized and made to feel isolated. Dr. Yousuf and certain staff members frequently conversed in a language I did not understand, excluding me from discussions and creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Additionally, Dr. Yousuf consistently displayed irritation during our interactions and showed little interest in my contributions. It was particularly disheartening to witness behaviors such as micromanaging and creating a hostile work environment being tolerated when exhibited by employees who shared Dr. Yousuf's religion and ethnicity. Rather than addressing these issues, Dr. Yousuf allowed them to continue unchecked, with these employees often retreating to the back to pray together during work hours. Meanwhile, I was subjected to undue scrutiny and ultimately terminated without cause. While Texas is an "at-will" employment state, it's important to note that wrongful termination based on religious or racial discrimination remains illegal. When I questioned the rationale behind my termination, Ashley initially responded with "Texas is an At-Will State," implying they could fire me for any reason. However, when I pointed out that wrongful termination due to discrimination is still illegal, she shifted her reasoning, falsely claiming I was absent twice--both instances were approved sick days with documented communication from my doctor, to which Ashley herself responded with "feel better." She also alleged that I was late, a baseless claim likely made to protect Dr. Yousuf's practice from being rightfully identified as discriminatory. To counter this, I documented my hours meticulously (a practice I started after discovering discrepancies in my first paycheck) and can confirm that I was consistently punctual. To anyone considering employment at Texas Dental Specialists, especially if you are not Muslim or Middle Eastern, be aware of the potential for discriminatory treatment. Patients should also consider whether they want to support an establishment where such practices are commonplace. It's worth noting that many patients expressed dissatisfaction with Dr. Yousuf's work, which was often carelessly dismissed. The reviews on the practice's website do not accurately reflect the reality of the situation and may have been influenced by bias within his religious and racial community, much like his staffing decisions. I am currently pursuing the necessary legal steps to address this issue, and I hope that by sharing my experience, others can make more informed decisions before choosing to work with or support this practice. The unethical behavior I encountered at Texas Dental Specialists is undeniable, and I encourage everyone to use discernment and consider this information carefully.

But when I heard that he needs some filling I just wanted to take him to a pediatric dentist and get another opinion and if needed to be taken care off at this office as well. The staff was very nice and friendly from scheduling to helping me out filling out each form. Dr Kwon is amazing with children. I have three boys and this is not the first time I am taking one of my child to a dentist. But I have never met a dentist who is patient and also great in explaining each procedure to the children. She even showed a little YouTube clip to my 6 year to ease some fears he might have before sealing some of the molars. And of course she explained everything in detail to me and checked in if I have any questions. After everything was done. The decision to move my little ones to her was easy. Even though we love our family dentist. I feel Dr Kwon will take great care of my children's dental health and I value her professional opinion and appreciate the great care she provided to our son today. 5 stars all the way!
