Tlc dentistry is not a dental office you want to visit they are liars. There web site states free exams and xrays to new patients. My wife had a dental emergency they made us a appointment same day perfect we got there 1hr before app filled out paper work informed them we were cash patient. They took the paper work. A few min later we were taken to trays a pano and 2 exrays. Then sat us down at chair assistant set up for a exam dr came in taked to us a bit didnt even look in my wife's mouth just went off xrays and immediately said ok we can try numming front office came to talk over cost to extract 2 teeth k nine and lateral top arch. $350.00 per tooth. $700.00 to have extracted non surgical. Never mention anything about a exam or xray fees. Because again there web site states free exams and xrays to new patients. We denied treatment immediately and explained why $700.00 is steep for a simple extraction. Front desk was pushy on getting a loan true there provider to pay it we denied. We have the $ but we will not pay $700 for 2 small extractuons. To not weist there time we left immediately never once any coment about additional fees for exam and xrays. 2 days later we get a email that we own them $350 for 2 trays and a panoramic and a exam. They need to learn what they have posted on there web site false advertising and its against the law and ethics to out the blue charge new clients because they didnt go forward with there over priced treatment. For a basic extraction. Not recomended and if you do look at you treatment brake down way way over priced will be reporting to the dental board. read more

"I would not recommend this office. The dentist has discussed patients' oral hygiene out loud in front of staff and other patients on multiple occasions, which is unprofessional and disrespectful of privacy. This most recent visit had even more people present, making it worse. A prescribed fluoride product was explained but not presented as a choice--I was told my son needed it, it was brought out, and priced without asking for consent. The cost was also more than double what I later found for the same product elsewhere. I was also quoted nearly $7,000 out-of-pocket (after insurance and discounts) for removal of four wisdom teeth. We sought a second opinion with a specialist and completed the same procedure for under $1,000 after insurance. That kind of difference raises serious concerns. Additionally, it felt like every visit introduced a new issue that needed to be addressed, rather than providing a clear and complete treatment plan upfront. Very bad experience, the doctor just looks the money.they didn't tell us that they don't accept our insurance anymore, but still call and get us come to their office. After done they get us to pay by ourselves. We have insurance!!! Please stay away from this dentist office. I had high hopes being a new patient with the lady eager to help me. Had spoken with them a couple of times prior to my appointment to make sure my insurance covered my cleaning. After she confirmed with me my insurance covered the cleaning I made my appointment. The day of my cleaning the lady told me "my insurance is weird and that she had to do the math herself and this is what she came up with" $80. I did not feel comfortable trusting her numbers she did on a piece of paper. If I would have known my insurance did not cover the cleaning I would of gone somewhere that did. Been a patient here for 4 years to receive the worse service ever by Dr. Lam and Jazmine at the front desk. Jazmine refused to discuss with my plan because it is clear she or Dr. Lam doesn't know what they are talking about. They are over charging for a crown and work and improperly quoted me for treatment on teeth. I contacted my insurance plan to be informed that they are not following the contracted rate and that I was being too difficult! I'm being difficult because you got caught! Beware of their ethics!!! Don't be fooled by the office beautiful decor and high tech equipments. I used to take my 2 children to TLC last 2 and 1/2 years since we've moved to TX. On our last visit, my teen was diagnosed with 14 cavities. And the younger one 8 cavities. Really??? My kids were raised with a minimum of candies and no soda at all. They have never had a cavity issue before coming to Dallas. Since my dental insurance wasn't a good one at the time, I decided to put the treatment on hold. Yesterday finally I took them to a highly recommended dentist by my friends and online reviews, which was booked 2 months ago. The results were ZERO CAVITIES for both of them!!! The other bad news from TLC was the only cavity treated just one year ago on my teen it's presenting a sign of LEAKAGE already!!! The receptionist also has an ethical problem. On the very first visit, I asked the permission to get a cup of coffee. She said the machine was broken, though there were some empty coffee cups in trash bin. So I assumed maybe it just broke a few minutes before my coming. On the 2nd visit, again I asked her for a cup of coffee. She said the same thing. Dr. Lam has been my dentist for almost 10years now. I moved to Houston but always drive almost 5hrs+ to her office for cleaning and works done. She's one of the most professional and ethical dentist I've ever met. She stands by her work! I am in the same profession and this speaks for her skills! Each time if I encounter her patient in the office and I got to see her work for them; I always have a "wow" for her! She is a perfectionist and we all know it's not easy to live up to high standard... but if you can be her long term employees that means you are a hard worker and you got skills! Guys seriously watch out. This is a fraud dentistry. They try to sell you things you do not need and they charge exorbitant amounts to in-network patients. I paid these frauds in office and they charged my insurance thousands and ran it dry and they still have audacity to send me a bill asking for more money. How money hungry can you possibly be? Watch out for front desk lady named Angela, she is extremely rude and aggressive towards customers. That's the first red flag when you go to a dentistry. I had a great experience with TLC Dentistry. I had not been to the dentist in several years and had such a fear of Dentists. The Staff was wonderful and their ability to offer all the services instead of having to go to other specialist made my decision to choose them easier. Their staff was able to talk to me about the costs of the treatment and offered several suggestions and ways to cover the costs. Dr. Lam was great in the treatment and telling me what needed to be done now and other things that could wait. BEWARE- They are completely unethical!! Misdiagnose to rip you off!! I have been going religiously for cleanings every 6mths and unfortunately since I moved to Dallas I had a delay in finding a dentist. Went to this location, it seemed to have good reviews, I left traumatized. After sitting in the chair for 2 hrs, thinking I was getting a cleaning as why I was there, they proceeded to tell me I wouldn't have anything done because I needed a deep cleaning first. From their exam my measurements from the periodontist check measured level 5 on back teeth, and then proceeded to tell me I had 16 cavities!! When I asked the question directly about the cavities to Dr. Jones, he said the hygienist will explain everything and walked out. Needless to say I was in shock and didn't even get the cleaning I had made the appt for. The front desk proceeded to tell me the total for everything would be around $4,500. I left and because I was so upset immediately started looking for another dentist for a second opinion. I was highly referred to a very reputable dentist that I went to a week later, which long and behold... NO cavities and my periodontist exam read at level 2- NO need for deep cleaning as they told me at TLC and certainly not needing 16 fillings. Never in my life have I had such an experience. If I was gullible I could have easily fallen for this. Completely unethical!!! read more

I am a dental student and I shadowed the dentists at TLC Dentistry for 2 weeks. The staff here is very welcoming/accommodating and will make you feel at home. I never felt like an outsider here. Dr. Lam is very meticulous and thorough with her work. She uses the best kind of dental material and instruments available in the industry. She's very detail-oriented and conservative in her approach and only recommends the necessary treatment. She does braces, gum surgeries, extractions and implants along with general dentistry. Here, patients usually get all the treatment done under one roof. She believes in constant learning and likes to keep herself abreast of the newer technologies. Dr. Jones is very personable. He explains every step of the procedure to his patients. He always sets a lighter and jollier mood in his operatory. Overall, you can expect an excellent standard of care right from the reception to the dentists. I had a crack tooth due to old fillings and just got this repaired recently. I don't like pain and the dentist did not mind providing shots to help deal with this which I liked. I have have had some other medical issues which they listen to and help validate this today with other doctors. Think you find this pleasant with some of the seasoned veterans here are willing to help you anyway they can today. Ms. Rachel and Ms. Maria do listen to you and will help anyway they can. This place is terrible. Kooky dentist, rude hygenist. This dentist likes to manhandle patients during procedures. The hygenist proclaims that she has 20 years but thinks it is appropriate to push a handheld xray machine against the patient's face and glasses. This hygenist is also very unprepared, constantly leaving the room. The patient use of cell phones will severely upset her even though she herself is constantly unavailable and not on task. Also, avoid buying a toothbrush from this practice. They say they will help you with any issues and then suddenly claim that they do not have time to call manufacturers. Also overpriced and a lot cheaper elsewhere. Maria seems friendly at first and then she'll turn on you, ignoring you mid-conversation and be rude in other ways as well. She can behave very unprofessional such as telling the patient that using a cell phone "ticks off" the hygenist. This place also cannot keeo prunes stocked for children ... not a kid-friendly practice. This place does not provide TLC despite their name, expensive decor and massage chairs. Since there are dentists practically every other block, look around the corner for a better place with consistent quality and caring staff. read more
