Beware! Stay away from this Thai restaurant. Smile Thai has gone completely downhill. Every time we call, they claim they don't have a driver for deliveries beyond 2 miles, even though I live only 4 miles away. Recently, my wife ordered from them, and the experience was terrible. The food arrived cold, the vegetables were completely undercooked, and despite specifically asking for no spice for the kids, the food was extremely spicy. My 7-year-old even threw up because of how unbearably hot it was. We also requested three extra sides of rice, only to discover they've switched to tiny containers that are half the size of their previous ones--about the size of a sauce container. When I spoke to the manager about it, he insisted the portion sizes had been the same for years even though we order recently before the same thing every time, which is hard to believe. Their portions are now so small that it's impossible to enjoy their dishes with such little rice. When I called back to express my concerns, the woman I spoke to was dismissive, talked over me, and denied any wrongdoing. It's clear that customer service is not a priority for them. I will never order from Smile Thai again. They show zero care or accountability for their mistakes. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for Thai food. read more

Ordered Pineapple fried rice and tofu soup last night for pickup. They mixed up with Thai fried rice or something.When questioned during pickup,they did re make pine apple fried rice for me. After coming home and opened the box ready to eat,pine apple fried rice has just 2 pieces of pine apple,no carrots,no scallions, no tomatoes, no flavor of yellow curry powder! Good Thai food close to home. Ordered through the Yelp app, which was very straightforward to navigate. Delivery came in about 30 mins. The gentleman who delivered our food was friendly and quick. Their menu has a nice variety of Thai eats. Standout dishes from what we ordered would have to be Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice. This is my go-to Thai place in Chantilly. I eat a lot of Thai food and I really like Smile Thai. The food is GREAT and their lunch special is awesome. Before COVID, we use to love going for lunch. You get a spring roll and this yummy garlicy chicken soup plus your entrée, all for like $9. That can't be beat. Nowadays, we do takeout and the food is still really good. We usually get their pad thai and drunken noodles. I have also tried their Crying Tiger beef salad and their calamari too -- both really good! I see some negative reviews on here, but I've been to Smile Thai probably about 50 times and the food is consistently great and the staff is nice. We got 3 different lunch specials, it includes the main entree with their house soup and a spring roll. The soup was ok, it has cilantro, carrots, and some kind of lettuce. We ordered the papaya salad and that tasted pretty awesome, nicely mixed with tangy sauce which I think is fish sauce, with shredded carrots, and papaya. Their pad thai tasted awesome, it wasn't too dried like most places, we also ordered the drunken noodles and that was a disappointment. I ordered with it with beef thinking it will be the sliced beef like most other places but this place makes served with ground beef. Very different. It was not spicy at all, the noodles looked and tasted so bland and dried. Typically your drunken noodles are soaked with oily sauce, but this one dish is dried. This is the second time I have ordered carry-out and placed an order through the Eat24 online mobile app. Unfortunately, since my first review, both the service and portions have been lacking. They already use smaller containers to pack your food and leave a considerable amount of space in them which emphasizes the meager portions even more. I don't know if that is a sign that the restaurant is struggling to stay in business or if they are just stingy with the portions, but for the price per dish they should offer a bit more than they are currently. Other than that, the food still tastes great and the spice level is on point. The papaya salad was not spicy at all first of all and secondly they also have cashews in it which was not stated on their menu. (normally they just put peanuts in it) My friend is allergic to cashews so she couldn't eat that. The chicken larb, just not good. Plain and simple. The noodles of the drunken noodles were a little too thick in my opinion. I know it's normally wide noodles, but it was cut too thick and I didn't like the texture of it.
