A small hole-in-the-wall family run restaurant with a dine-in area. The walls are a bright orange, and a classic Chinese order menu is displayed on the wall. We were greeted when we entered and brought menus. Upon ordering, the patriarch who was asleep at one of the other tables got up and went to the kitchen to cook. My water was off. It tasted strangely of plastic. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. My husband enjoyed his egg drop soup. However, our main courses were just okay. My dumplings lacked flavor, and even with the sauce, the dumplings were just heavy and plain. My husband's chicken and broccoli was cooked well (I love when the broccoli still has a crunch to it), but the sauce wasn't anything special. I think we failed to find a good Chinese food spot. The food here unfortunately is not up to par. We ordered all authentically Cantonese / Hong Kong dishes and it's nothing like what it's supposed to taste like. Unfortunately we will have to go back to Yu noodles as a trusted source for Chinese food :( The Peking pork chop wasn't pork chop. The breading was terrible. It was more like American sweet and sour pork. The pickled mustard greens with intestine was sooo salty. The pickled mustard was supposed to be sweet / sour/ and lightly salty but it was all salt. Also a well cooked intestine should NOT smell and it was smelly. The salt and pepper soft shell crab.. the breading was soooo thick and again it was TOOO salty. A well cooked version of this dish should just be the seafood lightly coated in corn starch and fried. Instead it was like a corn dog batter :( the best dish was eggplant with garlic sauce but it was soooo oily that we could only eat a few bites. I was so so happy to find some of my favorite comfort foods on the menu like tomato egg drop soup, salt&pepper shrimp, crispy basil chicken, and steamed yellow croaker (a delicious and healthy fish dish), and Ma Lah spicy pork intestines. We ordered in the restaurant for takeout and every item we brought home was awesome. After searching so long around Ashburn for good quality Chinese food, we are happy to find our new local spot. They do a good job executing on the staple Chinese dishes. Their General Tso's Chicken is done well here. Good crispiness and flavor in the sauce. But the star of the show here is their Hot Crispy Beef which they do particularly well. It is a serious crowd pleaser and is the #1 reason why we almost always order takeout or delivery from this place. Try it and you'll see what I mean! If you're not that adventurous, you can just stick to your regular orange chicken from this joint too. -1* because consistency is key and sometimes food can be less flavorful than other times. They did not provide any napkins or forks or knives to eat with. Isn't one of the perks of ordering food is not doing dishes?! I think so. Fortune cookies were stale. Honey dew bubble tea - yummm. It tasted like a mixture of every stereotypical american-Chinese dish rolled into one, and heated in a dirty wok. To be honest I've had frozen chicken stir-fry from Trader Joes that was twice as good. The lomein smelled and tasted burnt. Both dishes has same issues as far as no taste. Very very bland. They were also light on shrimp,and heavy on chicken and beef. The beef was small strips of tasteless beef. No red pork which better restaurants use. Ate about 1/4 of each, trashing rest. The spring rolls had one shrimp each, were so so as well. I previously rated this restaurant much higher. Appears to be under new management. The Chop Suey with Shrimp was nowhere like what I believe previous owners. It was bland tasting and they thought they were saving money by using small, smorgasbord size shrimp instead of the larger size used previously. My wife Shrimp hunan dish was also bland, with little taste. Whoever is running this place had better start using the previous owners recipes or I don't believe they will be in business for long. read more

This is quite literally the only authentic chinese restaurant in Ashburn, I don't understand how Chinese places out here can serve sushi and be called Chinese food. They have another menu outside the English one that has many traditional Cantonese dishes. If you're feel adventurous and want a taste of real Southern Chinese style dishes highly recommend the basil chicken or the salt and pepper shrimp (both fried). If youre feeling really adventurous, they have a preserved salted fish with tofu or eggplant slow cooked in a claypot dish and also a szechuan(ma la) style pork intestine that are to die for. It has been a while since I came here. I was at the Global Foods getting something and something caught my nose. I got hungry, so I went in. I looked over the menu and decided to get something I don't see very often at these take out joints. Dried tofu and pork. I've only seen this at a few places. I also ordered a wonton soup. The soup came out pretty fast. Now this place used the big fat wontons with the thick wrappers. Not my favorite ones. I prefer the small wontons. The broth was good. Had a nice flavor and had some of the thin slices of the BBQ pork in it. Soon my main dish came out. Just by looking at it, I knew it was going to be good. I dove in and I was right. This is one of the better places I've had this dish at. The pork was cooked just right. Not over cooked and not greasy. The portion size was good, they did not skimp on things. I wish this place was closer to my home in Leesburg. I might turn into a tofu pig So if you are craving dried tofu and pork this is your place. 4 stars for this dish only!! read more

My favorite Ashburn 'fast-food' Chinese place. We order from here all-too-regularly and we're always pleased. Service is quick and orders are always accurate. (Nothing ticks me off more than realizing they got your delivery order wrong... after the driver has driven away!) The food is good - I mean, it's fast food Chinese, but it feels a little less greasy than most places. The meat quality is better, as well. I have always done delivery at Hong Kong until a few days ago when I promised the Mister I'd bring home dinner after hitting up the gym. (Yes, I realize the irony of getting 198733^4 daily servings of sodium after an hour of cardio.) I stopped in here and was pleasantly surprised. It's very clean, very tidy. I did have to ring the bell for service, but the service was extremely friendly. I was offered a frequent customer card and she offered me coupons my order qualified for. (I turned them down, as I already had enough food and didn't want to waste it. I appreciated that she didn't try to push it on me.) Ok so I'm going to spilt this review in two types of reviews one being the food and the other being the service. Service: Ever been to a restaurant where a server seems rude? Well that's what you will get here. I think this place is ran by a husband and wife and the husband is totally cool but the wife.. Oh man she's the worse! Me and my friend don't really care if someone's being rude but after about 5 attempts of us being nice to her she simply didn't seem to care. Completely rude and seemed like she hated her life. Even at one point she had the phone in my face while she was finishing texting. Either way she needs to just stay home. Food: Maybe the best Chinese food restaurant in town. The prices are not low as other places and you get a bit less here but still fine. My friend got crispy beef which was the best crispy beef I've ever had and I actually took a risk and got a Thai dish which was amazing!!! Overall this place is great to just pick up your food and leave... But that lady killed my vibe so much that I hated eating there. Chiiicken on a stiiick! Easily my favorite, and their chicken in a stick really delivers. In fact, everything they have is on the up and up. For Chinese take out and delivery, they've really set a high standard for the Ashburn area. The food is good, plentiful and really has the right amount of flavor (not overbearing, salty). It's just the right amount of everything. And the eggdrop soup really hits the mark. Best of all, every time we've ordered (via GrubHub) we've gotten something for free. Crab rangoon, eggrolls, soup. I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining either. I've not been to the actual restaurant so this review is solely based on ordering online. Delivery has always been fast, and the employees friendly. My only complaint? The sauce packets. I know it's sort of a Chinese take out thing to toss in a handful of sauce packets in the bag, but they over do it here. When I want an above average orange chicken meal, this is my go to restaurant in the area. Good prices, big portions and tasty food equal satisfaction. Ha! A customer just walked in behind me and ordered orange chicken... Word is spreading! Get yours soon. Later this evening: when I actually got a chance to sit and eat the orange chicken I was disappointed. Their were many tough gamy pieces of "chicken," and the sauce for my rice was almost non existent. I've been here at least 5 times and have never had this experience. I hope this was a fluke. I'm giving these four stars to the DELICIOUS bubble teas i had yesterday after work. I saw the sign saying serve them now and since I love bubble tea, I decided to try one of their own, and bring one for my dad too (who was wanting a taste, as well.) I walked into the tiny café and even though the dining area doesn't say sit down and eat, I was kindly greeted, and the young lady made sure my order was taken correctly. When my lychee and mango bubble teas were ready, she even went as far as color coding the straws to the teas out of special courtesy! I have ordered the same menu items from Hong Kong Restaurant on Parkhurst Plaza in Ashburn numerous times, I was extremely disappointed with one of the ordered menu items (Combination LoMein). Upon plating it to divide it equally with a family member, I noticed it being filled mostly with beef, chicken and pork. I literally counted 4!!! YES, 4 small shrimp in the entire container. I called to complain, asked to speak with the owner which she "said" she was ( Pan, Phan or Pam). I proceeded to express my dissatisfaction with my order that in my previous orders, THIS has never occurred. She rudely and basically saying "if I go anywhere else, it would still be the same" which I disagreed with her, ALL restaurants ARE NOT the same. I asked her "so you are charging the same price for food that is of LESS quality?" In the same breath, she also said "maybe you should order from somewhere else". I replied "going forward I most certainly will even if it requires me to travel to the other side of Ashburn or cross into Sterling or Leesburg, then so be it AND that my restaurant review will fully reflect my dissatisfaction of my order in addition to her unethically rude, uncaring customer service behavior. She responded "ok, that's fine" prior to ending the call. UNACCEPTABLE!!! My money will definitely be deserved and appreciated elsewhere. read more

I am not one to complain, and it's unfortunate because the food is excellent but I placed an order on Seamless at 4:30 to be delivered at 6:30. I received a text that my food was going to arrive between 6:35-6:45, 7:00 rolls around and the food hasn't arrived yet. I call them and they "accidentally skipped" my meal. They offered to still come but it would take 40 more minutes. I ended up cancelling my order because the point of ordering early was because I had two small children to feed and take care of. I am more upset that neither the restaurant employee or Seamless representative did anything to rectify the situation. It's customer service 101.
