I ordered an almond milk latte and the avocado toast without feta. The avocado toast was SO good, the avocado tasted really fresh and they used the perfect amount of balsamic vinegar. Also loved that they had packets of hot sauce available. My son got a bagel with cream cheese and my partner got a bagel with butter and jam plus a chai latte. Only note is that the bagel came with a ton of cream cheese, so if you don't like it piled on, I'd recommend asking for light cream cheese. This place is a lovely spot! My friend and I first stumbled upon it while trying to find a cafe to sit and catch up, and I loved it so much I dragged my husband back at a later date. The decor makes you think of what you'd find at an eccentric great aunt's home, but in a positive way. Each area has its own mini aesthetic that contributes to the entire place; in the back are color themed books that give it a more serious look, while upstairs is more whimsical in it's random assortment of chairs and couches. The food is in appealing display cases downstairs. The stand out pastries for me are the tiramisu filled cronuts. They also have outdoor seating, plus a not-so-secret second floor where you can usually find a cozy spot. The perfect level of sweetness, where you can fool yourself from being guilty... is definitely there. Then the yummy pastries... the perfect crisp, the freshness of the fruit and or filling... It wasn't very flaky, and I didn't love the strawberry filling. The peach danish was fine, but again, not very flaky. The vanilla filled cruffin was pretty tasty, it had a lot of cream and the pastry was flakier. I also liked the crème brûlée donut. It was filled with a good amount of cream, and the sugar crust was crunchy The shop is a cute spot with a decent amount of seating. There was a steady stream of customers, but they had our drinks (four total) out in under 10 minutes. I loved the ambiance--there are 3 distinct "spaces" within the coffee shop. A front part, near the bakery, which feels like a kind of eclectic coffee shop (lots of couches and comfy chairs!). Then there's the library room, in the back of the first floor. This had much dimmer lighting, dark wood bookshelves on all walls, and piano in the middle. It was a cozy, slightly crowded feel. Then there's the upstairs, which is a nice, wide, well lit space with bigger tables. Seems like a great space for larger groups, board games, and so on. What a fabulous café experience! My mini and I stopped by after 8pm, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how lively it was. It had been a beautiful day that transitioned into an equally beautiful evening, so it made sense that many guests were enjoying the patio area. The space is decorated cozily and whimsically - a good amount of seating with 2 floors, and even though it's typically very busy, you can usually find a spot to sit. After seeing Chateau de Chantilly quite a few times on Instagram, I had to try it. We visited on a Saturday morning and it was decently busy. The cafe itself is beautiful and has a cozy atmosphere. There is also plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. Parking is a bit sparse, so you might have to look a bit of park across the street. When you walk in, they have cases of pastries that you can choose from. You are able to grab the pastries from the cases yourself. I ended up with 4 pastries. I really enjoyed the bacon and cheese bread pastry that I got, it was tasty. I tried the strawberry croissant roll which was okay, it was crispy but lacking flavor. The cinnamon roll was disappointing, I prefer my cinnamon rolls to be soft over crispy. Also the almond croissant was okay, it didn't have a lot of flavor. I also got the dirty chai latte, which I didn't like. It had so much cinnamon, I had a hard time drinking it. They even put a large cinnamon stick in the drink. OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. My friend took me here as I'm visiting from out of town and she said it's her favorite bakery and I am on that boat with her. We walk in and it is the most whimsical interior. We came on a Saturday and it definitely was busy but the line moved quick and there was plenty of pastry items to choose from. I ended up getting a strawberry matcha with my pastries. I have been here a few times for coffee. Today was the first time we decided to pick up a few croissants to try to celebrate the new year. We are suppose to be eating healthy but they looked too good to pass up! The service is great here. There were no pistachio croissants out so I asked the cashiers and baristas if there were anymore. I was so excited when I got to Chateau de Chantilly. It's not every day that I'm in this part of NoVA so I convinced all my friends to stop by on our way out of town. One thing is for sure: the decor is so cute and I bet the work atmosphere on a day over the week would be all you need to enjoy a cute little coffee while you work in a lot too loud cafe. It's the kind of coffee shop you'd imagine in the movies with lots of sweet pastries & an abundance of latte flavors. While this is true, almost all our friends picked the s'more lattes, and for the price, our minds weren't necessarily mind blown. By the time I got home, the matcha crinkles I got were super hard (almost impossible to eat), and the only thing I was really able to eat was the red velvet cake that I did not regret one bit (though - if I did have one piece of advice, it would be to switch to cream cheese frosting). It was still good with lots of space but super pricey. Would come again but probably wouldn't be in a rush just yet. read more

It's a cute space inside to be sure And there are plenty of options But the quality of the food leaves something to be desired. They tend to be dry, lack flavor, and overall underwhelming. For example, I'm a big fan of the Disneyland raspberry macaron, they have a version of this- the raspberry look old, the cream is only in the center instead of throughout, and it tastes like cheap whip as opposed to flavorful delicate cream. It's perfect for a chill coffee date or going out for a little treat moment. They usually have a seasonal drink menu and I tend to try it once. If it's not a seasonal drink, I usually get the cafe saigon. It was well made, It's sweet with the contrasting punch of the strong coffee. The pastries are the main thing. My favorite savory item is the spinach croissant. The filling is delicious and the puff pastry has a nice bite. I've gotten a few cakes there for birthdays as well. I've gotten fresh cream with fruit, mango, and red velvet. Honestly, I really enjoy the cakes. Personally one of my favorite treats. I'm glad they also sell by the slice. They're not overly sweet. Service was friendly and try to get people checked out as fast as possible. Friday evenings and weekends are always busy. They would get really long lines those days. Highly anticipated visit. Ive been waiting to visit this place for a while now so it was hard to contain my excitement. There are so many pastries. I wanted to limit my self to only two which was a difficult task. I spent about 5mins just looking at all of the options in terms of pastries. I was very pleased with the options I ended up with (Cookies and Cream Cruffle & Chocolate Chateau Croll). I could go back and visit this place 20 times and still have a variety of pastries to choose between. I've only been once but it seems as though they rotate between their pastries.
