I changed insurance companies so I could leave this horrible practice. The dentist drilled a hole clear to my root canal even after I pointed out that there was no cavity there. His comment was, "there will be if I don't". A massive infection developed while I was in the process of finding another dentist asap. read more

I went to the office to have some work done. I had a bad tooth removed. The work seems to be fine. The problem I have is when my son visited his office, he told my son that I was afraid. I told burns joking that I was nervous. I feel that is very disrespectful and unprofessional, not only as a patient, but as a father. Also, the patient aftercare was nonexistent. Luckly my daughter is a student in the field and told me how to care for the wound. My family will not return to that office. If you have a young daughter that attends the office. You may want to sit in with or ask about the conversions. read more

Read the bad reviews and take them to heart. The teeth "cleaning" isn't that at all. The receptionist polishing teeth for 5 minutes and the dentist scraping teeth for another 5 minutes is not a proper cleaning. The office is did not feel clean or hygienic and the bedside manner is poor. There are better dentists out there. read more

Take the bad reviews seriously. I'm sorry I did not read them before. The staff is friendly and prompt. However, sloppy. As someone who works in the medical field, I know how important cleanliness and being sanitary is, especially when you're working with fluids (saliva, etc). The assistant that took my X-Rays had gloves on. But as she was taking my photos, putting her hands in my mouth, then going back outside the room to take the photo then adjusting the camera in my mouth, etc. So... she was using the same gloved hand for the machine and my mouth. I don't want to think about the germs. She then at one point had to grab something out of the cabinet. Opened the box, THEN took off her gloves, grabbed the thing out of the box then she put the same gloves back on. The doctor came in without introducing himself. He has terrible bedside manners. He began to shame me about my teeth. The real kicker is at one point, he began to make highly inappropriate sexual remarks. As a patient, I was in a vulnerable position sitting in the chair with my mouth opened! It was highly inappropriate and very scary. I have filed a complaint with the medical board. I wasn't surprised to see he has had other complaints filed against him. No patient should experience this sort of unprofessionalism. Go see another dentist. read more

I just spent 5000 to get a implant because of Dr Brun ,according to two dentist he caped an infected gum with a plastic cap.I am told plastic caps will not last and it did not ,(every dentist uses metal often gold) my cap lasted 3 months.First it potentially dangerous to cap and not treat an infected tooth,using a cheap material like plastic with out saying anything when the dentist received 1,000 dollars seems wrong.I would not use Dr Brun for any dental procedure. read more

I just wanted to follow-up on my first review after having my second appointment today to finish three crowns. The fit is absolutely perfect, and they look great! Another reviewer said Dr Brun and his staff are amazing and I wholeheartedly agree. This was the first time that I had ever had three crowns (crown replacements) done in two appointments. The teeth were in a row consisting of a premolar and two molars which I thought might have made the work more challenging in a way. I have had 7 crowns replaced before and 2 of those replaced again. Part of the procedure for prepping crowns is after the tooth has been cleaned out, built up and shaped. At that point is when they "pack" the tooth. They use "retraction cord" when the margin of the crown needs to extend below the gumline." "Packing cord displaces the gingiva away from the tooth allowing the dentist to gain access for preparation and impression. It is usually soaked in epinephrine so it causes the tissue to contract and physically keeps it out of the way." I used to dread it when other dentists reached that point because about then is when the novocaine begins to wear off for me and it can get somewhat painful for some people, myself included. But it also depends on the dentist or his or her assistant. On the three teeth I had done only cord was used by other dentists but this time it was done mostly done using an agent that shrinks and contracts the tissues I asked about it but I forget what the name of the one used was - so I did a little searching at http://www.dentistrytoday.com and found one of the things they use is aluminum chloride (paste) which according to the scientific literature, it is the least irritating of the retraction medicaments." What that meant for me was that I didn't have any pain then or soreness later. I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally find a dentist that is this good and a wonderful staff that are excellent at the work they do in assisting with the procedures. Kudos to Dr Brun and his wonderful staff. If you have been putting off seeing a dentist for any of the reasons I was, don't wait as it will ultimately create more work, make it more painful and could lead to serious problems. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet of Dr. Brun and his dental practice. I love coming to this office. Aside from just being nice, he's a terrific dentist. I've had bad teeth since forever, more than one root canal, and more than one crown. So, I've been to the dentist many times. I've never--NEVER--had a dentist before take such care with fashioning a crown or checking my bite after a new filling. He doesn't take a shrug and "it's okay." He really wants to know how it is. Any other time the dentist has not been able, or cared, to discern what was comfortable and what was not. I've had a couple of urgent issues--like a crown coming off--and he's been able to squeeze me in to the schedule. I recommend his practice without hesitation. read more

These people should not be allowed to practice medicine on humans. Do I seriously have to give a whole star to this place? It doesn't deserve it. It doesn't deserve to even be an option for dental care, but it was the only place I could find through my dental insurance provider that was close by. All of the following is 100% true and happened to me over three visits: - Had to hold the x-ray machine in place myself because it was so shitty it wouldn't stay up long enough to x-ray my teeth. - Had clumps of my beard torn out by the clumsy ass dental assistants getting it caught in their equipment. I swear he has hired some union of retarded Asian women. They even trip over you while you're sitting in the chair. - Got three fillings that immediately cracked, resulting in blinding pain across the right side of my face any time I tried to chew. That was fun for the two weeks it took to get back in to have them fixed. - Had a dental assistant AND the dentist drop equipment onto my front teeth while working on me. That shit is heavy and it hurts. - I have now been diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, which I'm learning can be caused by dental work. On the plus side, they're extremely courteous and friendly while they're fucking up your mouth and falling over you in the chair. read more

I have been going to Dr. Brun for almost 3 years now and am very happy with him. Yes, sometimes the assistants are a bit slow or are new and require a bit of a learning curve but they are always courteous and gentle with my mouth. I highly recommend this place if you want a casual, friendly, and pleasant experience at the dentist! read more

Dr. Brun is great! I truly don't like going to dentists very much, but he makes me feel comfortable and and well cared for. I could tell he really cares about his patients in many ways when during an icy / snowy week, he called me personally to tell me not to drive in to my appointment because he didnt want me driving in that weather. I figured he was not going to go to his office, but he let me know that he would be there, he was just worried for my safety. I thought that was amazing for a dr to do (staff calling, sure, but personally calling like that was above and beyond any expectations) for his patients. I've been going to Dr. Brun for years now and I actually look forward to seeing him. I still hate the idea of dealing with dentistry, but he makes that an ok experience and his personality makes the visit more enjoyable than any dentist I have ever had. read more

I have visited Dr. Brun's office 4 times and was pleased each time. I have bad teeth genetically, and knew I'd need fillings. Dr. Brun did my x-rays, saw I needed fillings and did them both in one sitting (took longer than expected, but was good work). I usually require a lot of Lidocaine and he made sure that, after a few shots, I couldn't feel anything. I haven't had a problem with any of my fillings. He also diagnosed me with clenching (which I'd heard before) and got me a mouth guard very quickly. I also appreciated his honesty. I have a chipped tooth in the front which other dentists usually want to fix cosmetically. Dr. Brun took one look and said he didn't need to fix it if I didn't mind the way it looked. He said I'd be coming back every 6 months b/c my top tooth would just knock it off, the way it did my original tooth (it's an alignment thing). He also explained what he would do and why with my procedures, and understood that most dentists don't take the time to explain the procedures or the reasoning behind them. He was patient with me and took the time to answer all of my questions. I've had a slew of bad dentist experiences b/c my teeth are so high maintenance. I was thrilled to find Dr. Brun who not only takes my insurance, but I am very happy with his service. Oh, he doesn't get a fifth star primarily b/c the woman at the front desk is poor with customer service. read more

Dr. Brun is the man! Very talented and very likeable. He donates part of his year to provide dental service in the Dominican Republic. He has a good heart and this is important to me. I have had zero problems with his staff and have seen little turnover. I have been seeing Dr. Brun for about three years now and he has taken very good care of me and my teeth. I am leaps and bounds better than when I first started seeing him. I agree with the other posts that say "laid back". It is possible to have a relaxed atmosphere and still be professional. Dr. Brun is the man, I've been going to his place for about a year now and I've always liked going to his business despite having a significant aversion to dentistry in general. I definitely value a good dentist and don't throw support behind one lightly, but Dr. Brun deserves credit. Not to mention he doesn't just hack away at a tooth and take excessive enamel when he does a filling but he is thoughtful and not about up-selling you on work you don't need. I love Dr. Brun, but the work that I have gotten done here is not sustainable. I am sorry to say it, but I won't be going back. I had a couple of fillings done and was experiencing some pain, so came back and they were very gracious and worked on it for free, but a few days later the pain was back. The website says they are open Mondays 730am-5pm and no one is answering the phone. WTF?!?! This is not professional sorry. Sad thing is I can't switch dentists till come spring. Have been to see Dr. Brun a few times now and am very happy with him. He doesn't try to sell you on procedures you don't need for your mouth and is very honest about the things you do need (or will need in the future). Like other reviewers, he is patient about waiting for the numbing medication to kick in completely before working on your mouth. I've been seeing Dr. Brun for about 2 years now. He is a terrific dentist, and also patient and kind. I've always been rather nervous about going to the dentist (as are most people), but have only had good experiences here. His assistants are also great. It's a really cute little office in West Seattle and I always feel as though they remember me and are happy to see me. I highly recommend Dr. Brun. Glad to have found a fabulous dentist.
