I have been a patient of Dr. Russ's dental practice for about 7 years now. Love going to the dentist. The office is very nice and extremely clean. Staff is beyond friendly and professional. Everyone makes you feel at ease and comfortable. Both Dr. Russ and Dr. Castellano are awesome. All the Hygienist are great. Awesome with kids too. Beware "Marco Dental Care" under new owners/management. It appears that the previous dentists are no longer there although they are still on the website and on business cards in the lobby. I waited two hours to just reglue a loose crown. A 5 minute job that has cost $70-$85 in the past. The dentist looked and said "only nominal cost". A woman came in with a dental plan stating $49, so with the low charge I did not look at it and signed. I got a credit card alert that they charged $249. I assumed just an error and went back to the office only to be told too bad, you signed for it. True, I should have looked, but I also should have heeded the previous red flags. I recently booked a cleaning and after waiting an hour and a half was told the hygienist was not there and I would have to rebook. My wife recently went to have a single crown checked and endured an extended "hard sell" for a mouthful of implants for many thousands of dollars. A friend happened to be booked at the same time as my crown reglue and related to me that he got home and had a mistaken $3300 charge. He tried calling with no answer or call back. He went to the office to find it closed. He thought the worst when he finally got a call back and was told they are having some problems with the new regime. It has yet not been resolved as far as I know. I would reconsider using this business as it is not the same as before. read more

I arrived a few minutes late because of traffic, and the front desk staff was very accommodating, helping me complete paperwork and insurance information so I could complete my appointment. The cleaning was fantastic, thorough and painless. I then changed over to Dr. Hernandez for the next step in my implant process. Had a crown put on 2.5 years ago & it chipped recently. Marco Dental is refusing to warranty it because I did not see them for routine cleanings/check-ups, although I saw my regular dentist over the years. Do not use!!! I spent 2 hours there for an exam for the routine removal of a wisdom tooth which they at the end informed me they would only do if they could pack the hole with a fancy coagulation technique which costs more than the actual tooth extraction and is not covered by any dental insurance and they refuse to remove it without doing this expensive technique. The will not do a normal packing service. It's greedy and does not respect patient choice. These are not health care professionals when they put the $$$$ before the need of the patient. I only get 1 problem exam covered a year so I now have to pay out of my own pocket to see a dentist who is not a con artist. Plus over a month later and they still have not re invitees me for my $140 consultation despite having claimed the money in full from my insurance company as well as charging me at the time. I have made several phone calls and keep being told it's being processed but nobody calls back and still not received the money. Never known a dental practice be so shady!!!! read more

Dr. Russ is by far the best, most dedicated, accessible and professional dentist I have ever known. Not to mention nothing he does ever hurts!!! He truly cares for his patients and does everything he can to make the experience a pleasurable one. His office staff is wonderful. The office itself is clean and modern, a very friendly environment. I, and my family have used them several times. We are done. Over three hours now for my daughters wisdom tooth removal when we were told 1.5-2 hours. They're still working on her. What's most telling, though, is that we have spent more time with their high pressure sales woman in her office than we have with the dentists or their assistants. Horrible customer service. I started the payment process for Invisalign braces on 9/15/20. Still don't have them. I had to have a root canal and crown first - BUT this appt was rescheduled 3 times. So were my other appointments (except for the very first one - go figure!) I was told they'd be ready a week after my last appointment (10/12) but I'm still waiting. I've called multiple times and never get a return call. I was told by the receptionist that a text rec'd from "Ali at the lab" said "a change needed to be made and I should have patience because of COVID". Receptionist read me the text and said "this is unacceptable". Even the staff knows there's a problem. I spoke to the Office Mgr (had to call a couple of times - didn't get a call back) I said just cancel the Invisalign but I was told I had to speak to Diana only about that. BUT she was was out working on her CEUs and wouldn't be back until next Tuesday. I left a message and said I probably won't hear from her and was told (can't remember if it was Office Mgr or receptionist) that Diana never returns any calls. At this point, I just want my money back that I paid for the Invisalign. Service not rendered - isn't this fraudulent? Dr Bradley was great, but I thought Dr Eck worked there too. When I asked if he was there I got a laugh and they said they've never laid eyes on him although he does own the practice. Beware!! read more

So far so good. I had a root canal done on Friday. Doctor was caring, took his time and took care of the tooth needed the root canal. Two days after, I don't have any discomfort or pain. Doctor offered pain medication but I did not need it. I am going back next week for a follow up. I will post another review if things change. I have rarely in my life dealt with a more pathetic excuse for professionals than the staff of Marco Dental Care. I went to great trouble to move my schedule around to accommodate an 8:30 a.m. dentist appointment only to be called by some snide secretary as I was walking across the street to their office at 8:31am (I have a screen shot of the incoming 8:31phone call) to tell me that they needed to move my appointment to 10:30 because the paperwork would take to long for the dentist to be able to see me. When I told her how ridiculous and unprofessional it was to not keep to their schedule she put me on the phone with some idiot "office manager" who was EVEN MORE unprofessional and claimed that my appointment should have been 8:15, not 8:30 but that they didn't want to see me now anyway. As if it was still their choice and I would ever give these fools a dollar of my money. Another sad excuse for a business somehow existing on Marco Island despite being garbage. Four dentists in two years is a bit extreme. There is no chance to establish a relationship with a Dr. And you become a computer entry to the new dentist when you come back again. Yes they have all the new equipment but the personal touch of a private doctor is replaced with a clinic feel. They do accept nearly all insurance, but it's corporate medicine rather than patient centered. read more

I had to make an appointment for a wisdom tooth extraction. Marco Dental Care had contracted to be a provider for my dental insurance. They told me if I wanted my painful tooth extracted I would need to pay for the service prior. Once the procedure was complete they would submit to my insurance and reimburse me for any fees that were covered. They were asked by my insurance to resubmit claim with some due to missing information. That was over 2 months ago. When I called them I was informed that they have their own fees and do not go by contracted fees. This is in violation of their contracted rates and my claim is now in the grievance process. They collected their fees while I was in the chair waiting for the extraction. They do not return hone calls! They do not honor contracted insurance fees! Their fees are about 2.5 times higher then what their contracted rates are. I will update later as I plan to pursue this matter! read more

Marco Dental is a great place. The only thing I would recommend is a larger waiting room. They let you pay out services during the series of treatment. If you have a crown, they will divide the payments up by the number of visits needed for the treatment. read more

Terrible! If Marco dental is still run by Fred Eck and his salespeople, stay away. I was quoted $5000 to fix 1 tooth and when I said I didn't have $5K in cash 3 other staff members came in one by one and tried to sell me a 29% credit card for dental service. I ended up going to a different dentist office and got the tooth fixed (exam, cleaning, fillings, root canal and crown) for under $2000! High prices and high pressure sales at Marco dental! Just finished up there. I have been there for the last 2 hours for one of my child's teeth cleaning. Thank goodness I didn't bring all three for a cleaning or we'd still be there. I had a coupon from a mailer that was sent out to Marco Island. It was a great deal and we needed a local dentist. I usually don't write reviews but it was an awful experience. The dentist was ok and introduced herself, hygienist was fine, however the office staff was awful. The one office staff member was so annoyed by my other child in the waiting room. Yes, she was walking around and highly impatient but we waited 45 minutes before even going back and another hour and fifteen minutes for a cleaning. I addressed his annoyance because he said twice to her "can I help you" (She's 6) So I asked if there was a problem. After an under-the-breathe comment he basically said that my daughter was annoying him and smelled the "coffee creamer on the table". Really?!? No, we were not annoying other people waiting because to no surprise no one else was there. Needless to say I cancelled my other children's appt and will not be back. First impression, not good... I'm pretty sure the point of the coupon is to get people in the door for a cleaning so that a follow up appointment is necessary or further cleanings. Unfortunately, first impressions was the last for this office. My advice don't sniff the creamer or annoy the man at the front. read more
