I will say that many of the booths are torn up, and the space isn't exactly immaculate. Also, there was a strange and unappetizing smell upon entry that seemed to get worse while waiting for our food The menu is extensive and a little confusing. There are a few different menus along the wall and there appear to be sand which, wrap, salad, burgers, and other options. There are many signature dishes to try. You can get your order on a white baguette, a wheat baguette, a flour tortilla, a spinach tortilla, or on ciabatta The service was fine. The person who took our order also delivered the food to us. I ordered my meal as a wrap but I was given it on a white bread baguette. The staff wasn't overly friendly or helpful Some tips: You can make your meal a combo and get chips or fries and a drink. They also have cookie options and I'm not sure if you can substitute chips for that. I asked if I could sub my drink for a cookie and I was told no. So I had been meaning to try this place. Months ago I came in, got pissed at the line of people waiting and went somewhere else. So obviously if people are willing to wait in a line, it must be good. I was in a hurry so I just picked a random sandwich (Harvest something) and tried it. It was like a salad on bread I loved it since I am trying to slim down so it was nice and light for a hot day. The ingredients are high quality, I used to make salads at a hotel restaurant a & some of the ingredients of the "Harvest" sandwich are the same as a walnut salad. (So beware nut allergen types.) The menu is a huge poster on the wall, or 2 actually. The dine in area is huge and designed for singles, groups and party seating as well. This little Deli is just behind the Mainstays hotel and I was looking for something close and not heavy. There's a lot to choose from on the menu but since I'm a Texas girl staying in North Dakota the Southwest Mo! sounded like home. I chose the spinach wrap because I wanted to chose something healthy they have other bread and a regular tortilla wrap if spinach is not your thing. The cashier that helped me did a great job listing all the breads I think she was even proud of her self. Anyway the wrap was amazing. Absolutely loved the service from the short girl with glasses and the brunette gentleman with earphones. The kid with black hair however ignored the customers in line while he talked to his friends. He was told to go back to work and proceeded to argue with his coworker. Love this place but that kid needs to be properly trained again or fired. I used to love this place until today, I've been preferring the same sandwich for over a year and it was always really good. Today I get it and it's cold when every other time the Turkey, bacon and cheese were hot with the lettuce and tomato still cold. I brought it back in and the first lady I talk to acted like I was stupid. They bring me the same sandwich back with the lettuce and tomato warmed up also. Yuck. I asked for a refund, I hear her say "will you go deal with her!" To someone else. So she comes out and argues with me. How hard is it to do what a paying customer asks and being a decent human about it? I was very nice the entire time even when you both were rude c*nts. It's a new location, so I give them some slack. The service was great, all the employees were very friendly and courteous. I ordered the cream of potato soup and ty cobb salad. The portions are great, but the employee made my salad a little larger than normal he said. I really enjoyed the soup. It tasted fresh and made from scratch, even if it wasn't. I also enjoyed the balsamic dressing. My one complaint, that kept it from a five-star experience. The ty cobb salad didn't have onions listed on the ingredients and they are all over this salad. Thoroughly disappointed! I paid over $10 for a 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup combo and I seriously regret it. I ordered online and showed up 10 min after my pick up time. After waiting in line another 10 minutes to pick up food I already paid for, it wasn't even ready. I got home only to find the smallest, saddest sandwich half I've seen in my life. This is my second week in Williston and I've tried all the usual lunch places. I happened on this place while on my way to the lumber yard. The place was busy, probably ten people in line. I only had to wait about ten minutes to order and five more to get my food (the turkey club). The manager was running around delivering food and helping the others. The food was fresh and tasty. This place is the bomb. Casual, yet sleek and modern. I liked that I can call in and be greeted by a friendly voice who was happy to take my order. On 6/3/16 at 12:55 CST I ordered a "Mountain Club" sandwich without any substitutions or modifications. The 6'' version cost $7.75 + tax. This is my review. First, this is not a "Club" sandwich. It is not served on toast it is served on a heavy roll that they refer to as a "bagquette". It is described as "grilled turkey" which is misleading. The turkey on my sandwich was regular deli-style turkey that they re-heated on their grill - with a fair amount of cooking oil/grease/butter - I'm not sure what they used but there was residual something from their grill. It is not turkey that has been cooked by grilling method. So there is not "grilled" flavor per se but "warmed" via grill, deli turkey. The turkey had no special flavor or taste, it was very ordinary. Thinly sliced and I'd estimate 3 - 4 oz. On top of the turkey was a single slice of bacon. It was of medium thickness, over cooked at another time then reheated, and encased between the turkey by a single piece of thinly sliced melted Swiss cheese. Melting cheese causes flavor loss, especially with Swiss of this quality. I could barely taste the cheese. Like the turkey and bacon, the Swiss was of a very ordinary quality. The roll that this was served on was overwhelming. The bread was heavy and chewy. Not a baguette. I removed all ingredients from the bread and unscientifically - the bread weighed about the same as all of the other ingredients. The romaine and tomatoes are aesthetic garnish, do not expect them to be flavorful components of this sandwich. The romaine was chopped into very thin pieces, and was at early stage of wilting. The flavor I could taste was bitter. There were only the dark green end pieces of the romaine - no light green pieces. This was very inexpensive garnish. The tomatoes were diced into such small piece that they retained no flavor. I had a very strong reaction to this romain-tomato-onion topping as it just tasted awful and doesn't belong on a $7.75, 6'' sandwich. A prior reviewer raved about their lemon pesto mayo so I was keen to taste it. While I could see it - there was such a small quantity that I could not taste it discernibly. The restaurant's dining area was clean and the men's room was too. The cashier gave me correct change and the receipt was for the correct amount. The quartered pickle that was served alongside it was crisp and of good quality. I enjoyed the pickle more than trying to finish the "Mountain Club". Overall, the quality level of the ingredients did not meet my expectations. A turkey-bacon-swiss sandwich should be a homerun for a sandwich shop. This was a three pitch strikeout. Because of these reasons I rate my sandwich experience at Smiling Moose of Williston a 2/5. Smiling Moose's menu is divided into 8 categories. I look forward to trying a sampling from each of the other 7 menu categories over the next 7 weeks (or sooner) and bringing readers professional reviews. read more
