I should have written this review a long time ago because Dr. Jeff Gardner and the entire team at Smiling Oak Dentistry have been absolutely outstanding over the years. One of the things I appreciate most is how accommodating they are. If you have a problem, they'll often get you in the same day or the very next day. That kind of customer service is hard to find these days, and it's one of the many reasons I keep coming back. Over the years, Dr. Gardner has taken care of everything from routine cleanings to crowns, implants, and cosmetic dental work. Every experience has been professional, friendly, and pain-free. Recently, I noticed I was losing some enamel on one of my front teeth and was worried it would continue to get worse. Dr. Gardner repaired it, and I was honestly blown away. I still can't believe how perfect it looks! The colour match is absolutely flawless--you genuinely cannot tell where the repair was made. It looks completely natural, and the attention to detail is incredible. That's the kind of craftsmanship that separates a good dentist from a truly exceptional one. The entire team is welcoming, caring, and makes every visit a positive experience. They genuinely take pride in their work, and it shows in every smile that walks out the door. If you're looking for a dentist in the Mount Pleasant area for routine cleanings, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, implants, or just an office that truly cares about its patients, I couldn't recommend Smiling Oak Dentistry more highly. I am living here part time and did not have a dentist established. I had been having severe tooth/jaw pain for a couple days and called Smiling Oak praying for a quick appointment. They got me in with in an hour, referred me to an amazing endodontist for an emergency root canal and I was pain free in less than four hours! I am so impressed with not only their ability to get me in so quickly but with how sweet and attentive the entire staff was. I am so happy to now have a great dentist established here in CHS. I was floored. Got me in immediately for some pain issues. Had to get a 3d scan. Was diagnosed and consulted. Went to "check out" fully expecting a big bill, especially for the scan. Welp, the super friendly desk agent says "the scanner is no charge, we did one a year and a half ago" "oh wow" and pull out the card for the visit, "nah, we will put tit through your insurance " never been to a dentist that did that, always took the money and handed me a bill, "here you do it". I appreciate being able to afford services when I have insurance and when I am out of pocket. Dr Gardner considers your overall health when examining you. He has seen me for emergencies same. I made an appointment for my son to see Dr. Gardner for a second opinion. My son's dentist wanted to do extensive dental work and I thought it best to ask for another opinion before shelling out a couple thousand dollars. Dr. Gardner took a look at the x-rays and his teeth and said he wouldn't recommend doing any of it, but advised my son to brush better, floss daily and use a rinse before bed. I couldn't be more happy with his conservative treatment, and for encouraging my son to take better care of his teeth. We were driving clear across town for dental work because it was one of the few places to accept our limited insurance that covered cleanings only, but I will now be transferring my entire family over to the much more convenient Smiling Oak Dentistry knowing that Dr. Gardner will take great care of us, treat conservatively and make us laugh while doing so. I have been going to Dr. Gardner for over 10 years. He died AMAZING cosmetic and routine dental work. He does things I could not find at other dentist offices such as my NTI bite guard and Zirconia crowns. These are important to me since I grind my teeth at night to the point if destroying them. He has taken excellent care of my dental needs. Today I broke off my tooth with a crown. They hit me into the office first thing this morning, I saw Dr. Hartnet who is Dr. Gardners associate. She did an EXCELLENT job providing me with a temporary solution until I can get to the oral surgeon for an extraction and an implant. Then they Dr . Hartnet will then do my new crown. I was overly impressed with the new x-ray machine. It was 3D and for problems it can find most everything. Dr. Gardner does a very good job keeping up with the technology and the literature. He attends professional courses and events. He is certainly one of the best in his field and deserves to be acknowledged as such. His staff knows what they are doing. Dr. Gardner is a true professional who believes in conservative treatment and does not push more complicated /expensive procedures if a filling is all you truly need. He's just a really good person. Dr. Gardner and his entire team are truly amazing. I recently underwent a gum graft and was fitted for a mouthguard & retainer to prevent further recession in my gums. It was a heavy investment for me but I knew it was necessary. Not only did Dr. Gardner refer me to a fantastic periodontist who did a beautiful job but not even 2 weeks after I was fitted for my mouthguard did my dog steal it and let's just say it was the most expensive dog toy I ever purchased. I was absolutely sick about it but Dr. Gardner's team got me back in the chair, made another mold and worked with my financially. I am so beyond appreciative there are no words. I actually came to Smiling Oak because I wanted to do the Zoom whitening treatment- my other dentist couldn't fit me in for a cleaning so I just had it done here instead. The dental hygienist Anna does such a good job and is very sweet- I was self conscious about the plaque build up around my teeth but she made me feel comfortable and gave me helpful tips to reduce plaque buildup. She is knowledgeable about insurance-related issues as well. I've been going here for the past two years and it's been great! If you can't get an appointment, just call the day before because likely they have a last-minute cancellation. read more

Once again, my experience with Dr. Gardner and Liz, who did my cleaning couldn't have been better. Liz is awesome at providing a detailed cleaning and is knowledgeable about dental issues. I had a existing problem when I arrived today and asked Dr. Gardner his opinion since it had to do with my sinus area. They took an xray and he suggested I see an ENT, whom he recommended. I am going to be honest here, it's been a while since I have gone to the dentist. No more mommy or daddy making my appointments and no more insurance. It's grown up time. I found this office on google search and it had such great reviews, plus it helps they are one of the only places that accepts my new and slowly growing medical card. The Staff here made me feel right at home, no awkwardness or guilty feelings for not taking care of my teeth properly (flossing is a tough job).
