By phone based on the model and year, they quoted me at $360. Carlos took photos of the engine and told me he cannot give me $360 but rather $160 because it was missing some parts including a catalytic converter. I consulted with my brother and he said diesel engines don't have catalytic converter's. I am going to call the junkyard and sell it for scrap metal for $500 or more instead I would have thought a car service business would know that a Diesel engine prior to 1990 would not have catalytic converters. Makes me question the other things Carlos said were missing Consult with someone before you agree to the transaction. You can get several hundred more by sending to the scrap yard. Could your vehicle have caused the part to malfunction , could I have had something to do with it malfunctioning. I have been working on cars since I was 14 years old and I am 52 now. I think I know a thing or two about cars. As I mentioned before If the part was covered under the warranty Great, if not, so be it. I still needed the part. In the end I ended up getting a partial warranty price on a very pricey part BUT I sure could have done without the rude 3rd degree treatment.
