A friend of mine referred me to JM&H for a faulty sensor. The first person I talked to was super nice, understood my car's issue, understood the issue I had with the dealership - and got me scheduled right when I was available. I asked about inspecting/checking two other things on my car, which they said absolutely, they would check. They did - said there is no issue there but I may want to consider looking into my a/c in the future, the air could be colder. These guys were good up until they tried to put an epoxy patched bumper on my jeep, after backing it into another vehicle at the shop. I wasn't even that worried about it and was going to let them make it right at no cost to them by using their discount for me to purchase an upgrade instead, but when the upgrade took three months and still no idea when/if it would show up I decided to just go with a stock replacement and get it over with, as it seemed like Stephen was getting frustrated with me asking for an update every few weeks and 4 wheel trails are beginning to open up. So I bring my jeep in for the final repair and the next day I notice the patch on my bumper (which coincidentally cracked from expansion of the plastic underneath when it got hot) when I messaged Stephen he messaged back saying the bumper was fine and he looked it over before installing it, which is a lie. There is no way he didn't notice the different colors and material density...also he had to have known something was wrong based on whatever source he used, it clearly wasn't from a reputable source. But the biggest problem I have with the situation is the way they tried to lie about the patch and act like I'm the jerk, telling me they are going to fix it but not to come back etc..I was also told I was being "extremely difficult"...you know what's not difficult? Owning up to your mistakes and fixing them right the first time. That's especially true when the reputation of your business is on the line. I went in today to get the bumper swapped out and they still wanted to act like I'm the bad guy here, taking their sweet time while I had to take one of the few Friday's I have off and stand around in the heat while they swap them. And the kid doing it (who was likely the one that wrecked it in the first place) wanted to act like the bumper wasn't right at first, walking around and looking at it and asking me if it's right and wondering "why it needs to be swapped" when his boss came out and asked what the heck he's doing, and to just hurry up and put it on. I ended up just telling him to take the patched one off and put the new one in the box and load it in the back, I'll install it myself they ended up making it right (sort of), but due to their attitude toward me and the way they handled the situation I feel obligated to write this for anyone considering using them in the future. *edit First of all I've never even met you, so for you to say you were there or know anything about what happened is a lie. Secondly, you know good and well I didn't damage anything, I know how to drive my vehicle unlike you. I'm an EMT so driving is kinda my thing. It's no ones fault but yours that this all happened, instead of trying to weasel your way out of fixing my bumper with discounts and patched bumpers you should've just fixed it right from the get go. And finally Steve is the one who tried to pay for the damage with a discount rather than paying out of pocket to fix it...so talk to him if that was a problem for you. How exactly does being in business for 45 years correlate to the honesty of an individual? Especially an individual who hasn't been alive for 45 years much less worked at this shop? Yelp doesn't have the ability to upload video, but for anyone interested to find out who is lying I did upload the video to YouTube, it is titled "AVOID jm&h automotive Clovis Ca" and you will see who is the actual liar here. Painfully obvious that the bumper is patched and not "limited edition", and I'm sure a simple google search would show that bumper is exactly the same as mine except for the epoxy patch. The short video does prove you are lying about the bumper, there is no bumper for Jeeps that comes from the factory made of different materials on either side...it was normal on the passenger side and it was hard, different texture, different color, and different thickness on the driver...You can tell all of this from the video...I didn't intend to post the video or even update this review but you want to accuse me of lying and continue acting like there is nothing wrong with that bumper you installed...I wasn't even going to post a review at all until you guys wanted to act like this whole thing is my fault. You say things would have been different if you had just replaced it with a stock bumper from the get go...but that's exactly what you did that caused the problem here...I asked for an OEM bumper and you installed something altered, and then got mad at me when I noticed it. What business would I have calling you? After the way you treated me and my jeep...after being nothing but courteous even after you damaged my vehicle... I only cursed after you tried to tell me there was nothing wrong with that bumper.... read more

Where can I start? I just got back from a Combat deployment in Afghanistan to find out that my 2012 Kia Optima had a blown motor. I contacted Stephen at JM&H because I had heard great things about them, and had him diagnose my problem. He quickly notifed me that the entire engine would need to be replaced and got me an excellent quote on a slightly used motor. Despite the great deal I was still bummed that I was having to replace the engine on a car that had always been serviced properly. Little did I know, Stephen was researching a possible recall on my engine that I didn't even know about, nor had Kia notifed me of the recall. After about a day of hard work on Stephen's part he notified me that Kia would most likely replace the engine for free because it was covered under that recall. I had my car towed to Kia, and diagnosed there. They informed me that the car did qualify for the engine recall. I have to say the high level of integrity, knowledge and professionalism that this shop showed, greatly exceeds all of the competition in this town, and is what has ensured I will be back for all future automotive needs and maintenance.
