When Smith Ford say no bull as their slogan, they quite literally mean no bull. I had horrid...I mean HORRIIDDDDD experience with a few other dealerships in the area, and was apprehensive at first when I first reached out to Smith. That apprehension went away IMMEDIATELY and here is why. I was looking at their inventory late one Tuesday night and so I sent an email to them. 9:11 am Wednesday morning (11 mins after they opened) Justin the salesperson emailed me back about the car. At 9:15 he then called me. I picked up, asked how many miles were on the car I was interested in, he told me, I said I'd be there within 2 hours to see it. I pull up, he's got it waiting there for me, he takes my info, I take it for a test drive. I want the SUV. We go in, I ask the price of the car, he tells me. I ask about qualifying discounts, we settle that, we get the paperwork started. I put a deposit down. It was as simple as that. I come back later that night, sign on the dotted line, and I have my car. The only reason it took almost an hour and a half is because the dealership were trying to get ahold of the DMV in my state for the sales tax. But it doesn't end there. My parents were so impressed, they turned around, and bought another Ecosport from him a few days later. I wasn't spoken down, I wasn't harassed about how much I was putting down, it was a simple conversation, yes & no answers, and my auto was purchased. Made a service appt and brought the car in when they opened and left it there. When I called about 4 pm to see if it would be done today, I was told they couldn't find the problem and when I pressed, I was told they hadn't even started to look at it yet (maybe that's why they couldn't find the problem). Car had not moved from where I parked it when I picked it up and no bill for any work. Been coming here for service for over 20 years. Last time I was here, took 5 hours to put in spark plugs. NEVER coming back here again! Told them that I scheduled service at another dealer and they didn't even care! Tried to contact them but no response. Great way to treat your customers. read more

This service department had my car for 2 months, told me they ordered the needed part twice, blaming Ford for the delay. I spoke directly with parts, no second order had been placed and the only order was for an inactive part number. The parts manager ordered the part and it came in less than a week. The parts manager explained that Ford changed the parts number from the original order and that the part had not arrived due to Ford canceling the order. He added that Ford often canceled orders when a part number changed, understandable. He stated that Ford did not have a policy of notifying dealerships when they cancel an order. This is not correct, Ford has a policy of informing dealerships when a part needs to be reordered under a new part number. During this time they had the car, "I'll look into it and call you back in 15-20 minutes" meant "I'm blowing you off and will not call you back." I requested to speak with the General Manager. Again no call back. There were 2 recalls active on my car when it went in related to the 360 camera and an exhaust leak. They address neither of them. They cannot release a car with an emissions or safety recall without addressing it. I was told, "we have no responsibility to address recalls unless requested to do so by the customer." I requested they be checked. I requested a second key be made. No key was made. This was on the original job sheet. When I asked, "is it customary to not address a customer request noted on a job sheet?", the answer was obviously "no". The employee offered to have the service manager call me about it in the morning. This is the same person who did not return calls. My car is drivable, filthy, with 1 of 5 jobs completed. I recommend avoiding this very polite, but apparently incompetent service department. read more

I bought my F-150 from Smith Ford in May of 20212. I've never had any issues/problems with getting my truck in for anything. The service department is and always has gone out of there way to assist me. I have taken my truck in on the weekends and yes it does get busy, but they do there best to get you in and out. No lethargic sales people here that point to a vehicle in the lot as if you were a dog playing fetch in hopes of finding the ball, in this case the vehicle you're interested in buying. No gruff, belligerent service people that bark and question your motives for bringing your car in. Your not victimized at Smith Ford! You're treated well here and this is why I highly recommend Smith Ford of Lowell Indiana for the purchase of your next vehicle. These people are professional and deserve the highest of praise. I had the best experience recently buying a car. My salesman E.J. Viking made me feel very comfortable and was very very patient with all my quirky questions and request. E.J. was not a pushy salesman at all! He simply answered my questions, and I had a lot of them. Even though I was buying a used car, he treated me like I was buying the most expensive car on the lot.
