A year ago I purchased handmade silk turkish rug from someone representing a company I had purchased a Hereke rug from in Turkey. Unfortunately my new puppy had an accident on my silk rug. I knew it would need special cleaning and researched online information and reviews on who in Las Vegas could handle a delicate rug. I contacted Smith's Fine Rug Cleaning and they sent Ron out to pick it up as it was way too large for me to handle. The owner, Pete, called me to deliver some bad news. My handmade silk rug is mostly viscose, a cheap cellulose/rayon. Not only that it is prone to running when wet making cleaning very difficult. Pete offered to clean it or to send my rug to a company in Denver, Robert Mann Oriental Rugs, that he felt could handle cleaning without damaging the rug, so that's what we did. Upon completion they sent the rug back to Smith's. Robert Mann did a good job of cleaning it except for one area that still showed some stain. Pete said he'd try peroxide plus some focused light to treat it but it would be a risk, Given how I had been screwed by the rug merchant on the purchase of this fake rug I though the risk was minimal. Ron delivered my cleaned rug from Smith's the next day and it is spotless. I was really thrilled. I can tell you that Pete Smith, his employees and his company are outstanding. They are professional, talented, honest and caring. You will never find a more capable or dedicated company to handle your fine rug cleaning, authentic or fake. They are the best. read more

Pete and his team did an incredible job cleaning two large area rugs that had been subject to cat fur and occasional cat vomit over the past few years. In the past we had been able to keep them relatively clean with regular vacuuming and spot cleaning but a recent case of cat puke proved too much for us to take care of. I had never used an area rug cleaning service before and barely knew where to start. To further complicate things one of our rugs was a thick and heavy shag-like rug and most rug cleaners I searched for didn't specifically mention being able to clean thick rugs like this. On a whim based on the services that Smith's Fine Rug Cleaning offered I decided to contact them on Yelp. Within just a few minutes Pete Smith, the owner of the business, contacted me on Yelp to discuss my case. I took a few pictures of the tags on the rugs (to get an idea of what materials they are made of, their exact sizes, etc.) and we discussed the options and general pricing. I was satisfied with Pete's proposal and scheduled an appointment to have him come over and do a final in-home quote and if I decided to move forward with the cleaning have him take the rugs for off-site cleaning at his store. Less than a week later (a day or two earlier than the estimated completion date) Pete called me saying that the rugs were clean and ready for delivery to my house. We set up a return appointment and he delivered the rugs and helped us unroll them in our living room and dining room. My wife and I were blown away; they looked better than new and no longer had any offensive odors! Our thick shag rug was nicely fluffed up and looked and felt better than it had in a long time. One final note; Pete did mention that they offer an in-home rug cleaning for cases that don't need as thorough a cleaning as we wanted to have done. The in-home cleaning is apparently a little cheaper and faster (I'll most likely give them a call in a year to do a maintenance cleaning). He also has a store (which I haven't visited yet) that sells various cleaning supplies. To my surprise he even sent me a few texts after the job was done and he had already been paid suggesting a few items we could pick up at Walmart to take care of our rugs. Pete did a great job with maintaining communication (both text messages and a few phone calls) and he and his team did an incredible job at actually cleaning our two area rugs. I have no reservations about recommending Smith's Fine Rug Cleaning and will personally be using them in the future when I need a rug cleaned. read more
