If you like chicken parm you need to RUN to the Smithtown Pasta House! We came here with a group of friends last night and I was encouraged by those friends to give the vodka parm a try. You get 2 of the largest most perfectly crisp chicken breasts under a bed of vodka sauce and melted mozz. Enough to last you multiple meals! I also chose a side of pasta in vodka sauce which was huge and equally as delicious. It was the best chicken parm I have ever had. The service was also amazing. Stopped by Smithtown Pasta House in between 2 events. First of all o wonder why I have never heard of this place before. The decor as you enter is super cute and continues throughout the entire restaurant. They have a bar, a couple tables outside on Main Street and many different types of seating in the dining room. We were there on. Friday around 4pm and there was plenty of seating. Our server was quick attentive and friendly. She was also very knowledgeable and even provided recommendations. The food came out quick and was hot. One of the meals we ordered to split and they served us with it already split on 2 separate plates. They had a creative drink menu and had many creative food options. As I'm not a huge fan or red sauce, I was happy to see that I could get any of their meals with the vodka sauce. The fried gnocchi with the truffle sauce was so good we will definitely be back again. The chicken had a light breading that didn't take away from the taste of the meal. Service: Slow. It took a while for everything to get done. Don't get me wrong, the food came out hot but everything else felt delayed. Food: Crispy Gnocchi- Regular. When they advertise as crispy, I would imagine a crisp to the gnocchi. It was lost because it was drenched in a cream sauce. Short Rib Ragu- Delicious. I would get this time and time again. So we went for restaurant week to try something new. The owner must not care about quality but trying to pull a head fake and hope no one notices. I wanted to take a peak in the kitchen and see it there was really a chef in there. All dishes were edible we didn't get sick but they had to be pre made frozen from restaurants depot or Costco. We waited quite a while for our food but since we were very hungry, we were all pleasantly surprised by the serving sizes for our pasta dishes - we all packed leftovers! It's great that each pasta dish gives options for the pasta noodles, but I felt the price was too much to add protein. I highly recommend this restaurant for parties. Everything about this restaurant is great. From dealing with management, to the most excellent servers that I select for all my parties, the best bus boys, the most excellently prepared food from their chefs, it could not be better anywhere else. So we came here only because we drove by and saw it looked nice. We stopped in and greeted by the friendliest person, Cassie - her customer service skills were so on point. The inside of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their food was phenomenal with a big serving. The staff was great, the decor was super cute. And it wasn't too expensive for a nice, romantic place like this. On the left side of this restaurant, there was a long bar - so nice! Very chill and relaxing. Apparently they have pie sales on a Monday, and Sunday they have a live musician. Their bathrooms were super nice. Also, I had the best drink I've ever had: Rainbow Cookie Martini. It's a MUST try! First the good..Server was great and didn't have to wait long for our food...Drinks were good but a little over priced...Appetizer was great (House Baratta)...My wife loved her pasta dish and salad...Dessert good also. Came here for two birthdays and we were generously greeted with a champagne toast. It also happened to be restaurant week so we took advantage of that and ordered the zucchini fritters for an app, they were good, not greasy. My mom and I split the vodka lasagna and the chicken vodka parmesan and both were amazing and decent portion sizes. The vodka sauce was so creamy and flavorful. I ordered the pistachio martini and I was blown away by how good it was. We also got the bread pudding and brownie alla mode for desserts. Been meaning to try this place for quite some time and glad I did. We went here for restaurant week and tried the prefix menu. Everything was delicious. The only complaint is the service was a bit slow. Also don't like the two different prices for cash vs credit card but other than that very happy with my experience and hope to come back. read more

"Which part of Ireland is the chef from?" is the question I asked our server. The sauce is awful. The flatbread is disgusting. The wine tasted like vinegar.the eggplant was inedible. They don't know how to prepare eggplant and shouldn't serve it. It was cut into thick chunks, wasn't cooked, and wasn't sweated. My plate was still full when it came time to clear the table. I couldn't eat more than a few bites.. The servers brought out two of our entrees and the other three people at our table waited almost 15 minutes for theirs. No apologies. The kitchen staff has no clue what it's doing. It's all a disaster. Terrible, awful, gross, so crazy expensive. $50 each for $.79 pasta from Restaurant Depot with burned sauce. The "family," "gather," and "eat" decor was the initial tip-off. The bread put on the table was the next clue. We all looked at the supermarket white bread, then at each other, then sighed, as we knew what we were in for before even reading the menus. I feel assaulted. Robbed. I want this day of my life back. Follow up a few hours later: the heartburn from this sauce is so bad I'm drinking straight apple cider vinegar. I feel like I want to throw up and then die. read more

What an amazing experience we had last night! We've been to the Smithtown Pasta House several times, and have a favorite server we always ask for. The service is that good! But we had never tried their $25/pp Prix Fixe dinner. In one word, it was "off the charts." (Yeah, that was three words.) Smithtown is a very competitive dining town, and this place knows how to compete. Where else can you start with a glass of wine, followed by your choice of two salads, then your choice of several entrees and then get a freshly-baked cinnamon roll ala mode for dessert? For $25? Twenty. Five. Dollars. Unbelievable. It would be fair to expect Prix Fixe portions to be smaller, as you often see in some places when you order a lunch-sized version of a dinner entree. Not at the Pasta House. They brought a basket full of bread and delicious, seasoned butter. (We both wished the bread had been warmed vs. room temperature, but trust me, that's nit-picking.) The salads were very generous, my Caesar was dressed up with plenty of shaved cheese and croutons, and the House Salad was beautiful. The entrees were huge and out of this world. The Rigatoni Primavera was made with obviously fresh vegetables (the server offered a choice of three different sauces) and my Sautéed Chicken dish with melted (and perfectly flame-crisped) mozzarella was as delicious as it was plentiful. I substituted broccoli (which I like) for the menu-specified spinach (which I don't like) and it was no problem for the kitchen. We came home with enough leftovers for two more servings - each. And then the pièce de résistance - OMG - who'd have ever thought a lowly Cinnamon Roll could steal the show? Well, with the right amount of chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream, garnished with a mint leaf, our only complaint was that there wasn't more of everything. It was comical to see the two of us using our dessert spoons to scrape the last morsels of crumbs, ice cream and syrup off our plates. When the check arrived and it was for less than lunch (without two glasses of wine or dessert) at most other restaurants in the area, we actually felt guilty for a moment. Hands-down, we enjoyed one of the most surprising meals with the same attentive, friendly service - at an incredible value - than we have in a long time. It was epic. Went to the Smithtown Pasta House midweek for what I thought would be homemade pasta. Funny, because the pasta was not homemade as I assumed it would be by the title of the restaurant. I did enjoy my meal of sauteed chicken with spinach, pasta, mozzarella in a pink sauce ($30) and had enough leftover for the next day's lunch. The Zeppolis were yummy as well, but a bit pricey ($12) for $1.50 worth of fried dough. Food: Excellent Service: Very good Atmosphere: Excellent Price: Ouch! Appetizers--they were okay. Service--not very good. Had to search for our waitress at times and didn't come back to check on us. Drinks--awful. How do you screw up a vodka cranberry twice? They found a way. Food--each dish was either bland or average at best. I got the chicken with tomato mozzarella and onions. The mozzarella was tiny pieces and the chicken was tasteless. Cannot deny the restaurant is not beautiful. The inside is festively decorated. Service is excellent. However the food is average at best. Everything is under seasoned. I never went to an Italian restaurant that did not use garlic. But the biggest problem is the cost. $10 for a beer, $30 for an entree (chicken and pasta). $18 for a salad. And $12 for a dessert. Prime location on main st. + atmosphere+ Inflation = is what it is these days.. Overall $200 bill (240 after tip) for 4 (2 kids)..oof 4% credit card fee is a deal breaker for me though. It's obnoxious, we ordered 3 glasses of wine and an app. Plenty of gm% in those extras- don't need to hit me with a surprise 4% to close out the bill. Just poor form. Where do I begin? We had a table reserved for 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. and upon arrival we had to wait in the entrance way being blasted by a loud country singer making my ears ring for the rest of the night. There was no place for us to sit down with my mother in a wheelchair obstructing the door. When we were seated we were put into a fairly empty room and were told that there were having "some problems." They didn't have easy wheelchair accessible tables or designated areas within the restaurant, having us to try and move to multiple tables to even fit the wheelchair. Even entry to the building was a bit difficult having to lift the wheelchair over very high threshold bumps. The tables unfortunately didn't have any standard linen tablecloths with only sticky dark-black painted surfaces. Not a good start to the night, mind you. After waiting for 15 minutes, we were finally greeted and given menus. It was nearly a half hour before someone came back to us to finally order. We ordered standard things with my mother getting eggplant parm and my brother and I ordering chicken cutlet parm. I had ordered from the price fix menu as this was restaurant week. I received a plain fried ravioli appetizer that was cooked decently with some generic canned pasta sauce on the side. It was edible but nothing to write home about. Our main course didn't come until 45 minutes later. The manager apologized and provided us with some complimentary salads as compensation. With our main course arriving, everything seemed to have been deep-fried, very hard and blackened with my chicken being extremely thin and dry, smothered in some sort of canned "vodka" sauce. The breading itself on either side was thicker than the actual chicken itself. This was honestly inedible and we had requested the food to be remade. The breading for the chicken was almost like a southern "country fried steak" batter rather than the Italian herb-encrusted variety. The food we felt was cooked in extremely high temperature oil. When the food arrived the second time, my mother's eggplant was still again burnt and difficult to eat. Our chicken parms faired better, yet the taste was way off due to the Southern thick-batter cooking now with a huge amount of some sort of generic tomato alfredo sauce rather than what was described on the menu. Not only was the service took nearly 2 hours for us to have our meal, they didn't even bother to put salt and pepper shakers on the table and never even asked us if we wanted any parmesan or Romano cheeses for our pasta (this is a pasta house mind you). The bread they provided on the table was both wet and overly dryed. Even the butter that they put on the table was rock hard and un-spreadable taken right out of the freezer perhaps. We were provided butter knives to cut our chicken with initially. This bad experience was compounded by the fact that this was my birthday dinner and was my selection, based on the Yelp and Google reviews which leave much to be desired. To compensate for the bad experience, they comped us our entire meal, but the experience and the night was a complete bust. We thanked them for their generosity. This was my first time ordering from restaurant. I like to try new places when my husband is away! LOL . My test for Italian food, is " How is the veal parmigiana. The first 2 bites were DELICIOUS . Had a late dinner here with my family. Inside we found the place rather cozy and contrary to other reviews here, very clean. Each one in our party of four ordered appetizers and a pasta dish and the portions were nice (They have frequent specials). Despite it being near closing time, the food was fresh and delicious. At no time were we ever rushed and instead, told to take our time and enjoy ourselves. The service was impeccable. This is a restaurant that contains a room in the rear that is used for parties. This is also a location that tends to give back to the community and will work with your organization to meet your needs rather than bleed you dry like so many others do. Gianna was our server and amazing. She was super friendly and efficient. We were a party of 11 last weekend for my fathers birthday and everything was perfect. Food was delicious and portions great, place was immaculate, ladies loved their girly drinks. Old man dad was disappointed they didn't have his favorite wine in stock as listed on the menu but he switched to bourbon instead and was perfectly fine.
