Disappointing. We've been here a few times with positive experiences. We went for dinner this week and the food was disappointing. The flounder oreganato was a small filet and dried out. I've never left a negative review before but our experience was so bad i have to. Roaches everywhere, on the floor, and climbing the walls. They need to close and deal with this issue. We told the wait staff about it and they seemed to be aware and were unapologetic. read more

Recently had dinner with a group of 4 here. I will start by saying if they fix the service issue my rating is a 4 or 5 immediately. Unfortunately the service was so bad and so slow that the rest of the experience was as effected. We started by ordering drinks I ordered an old fashion which was decent but cost $18. I have no issue paying $18 for an old fashion in NYC but if you are going to charge $18 for an old fashion in Smithtown it has to be better than just decent, on top of that it was literally 20+ min from ordering drinks to receiving them. For food we ordered a Penne Vodka dinner for the table as an appetizer and it was tasty, well prepared we all enjoyed it. We also ordered the Caesar salad and house salad both were good. For our meals we ordered the Grilled Salmon, Chicken Parm, Veal Parm and Rigatoni Bolognese. I have to say the food was all prepared well and everyone enjoyed their entrees. The size of the entrees were plentiful and they were cooked well. Unfortunately we waited forever to get our entrees, it took close to an hour to get our entrees from when we ordered and then they only brought 3 of the 4 entrees to the table. We then sat and watched our food get cold as we waited for the 4th entree to arrive. For dessert we got the Zeppolis rainbow cookie cake which was very tasty. One other thing is they offer a 4% cash paying discount to be aware of. Overall the food was good, everything tasty but the service is a real problem. We had dinner last night . There were only two tables with patrons. . I have to say this was the worst service I have ever had. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. Then entrees arrived in 2 minutes .Dessert menues were presented while still having entree.Meanwhile a request for second glass of wine ignored 4% surcharge added for credit card despite the fact we were paying cash Also if note quite pricey ! Last dishes over $30 salades $16-20 I can not imagine how the evening would proceed on a busy Friday or Saturday night . I certainly will not be returning to find out read more

Came here for the first time to celebrate my second wedding anniversary. I will definitely be returning. Started with the burrata vodka flatbread -- strongly recommend, had the penne carbonara for entree and topped the night off with a coffee and apple crisp. I will only write a review when something is really really good or really really bad. I'm sorry to say that my experience at Pasta House was really really bad. I usually go to O solo Mia where I always get fantastically delicious meals at reasonable prices - never had even a 'so so' meal there in years. So my friend read the 4 Star reviews and talked me into breaking tradition and going to the Pasta House. The atmosphere was good and the waitress was also courteous and competent. That's were it ended. My wife ordered the Rigatoni with Mozzarella and Eggplant. I ordered the Veal Parmigiana. A little background- My wife is first gen Sicilian and I am , Unfortunately Irish. Her parents and extended family are Sicilians born and raised in Italy and are fantastic cooks so we know good food from bad. Our meals arrived and we started to eat. Within a couple of bites we both noticed the their sauce (Gravy) was not only blah/poor tasting but extremely sweet. The sauce was like a poor tasting supermarket jar sauce that had a pound of sugar dumped into it. My wife and I are both 66 years old, been to many ,many restaurants around the world (Including Italy). The meal was truly uneatable. In the 47 years I have known my wife she has never ever- not eaten a meal. She put her fork down and wouldn't eat it. And NO she is not a picky eater. My veal parm was dry, over cooked tasted stale and had the same sweet ketchup sauce on it. I ate it BUT I paid almost $30 for a meal that reminded me of a 3rd grade Grammar school lunch - I'm not exaggerating. To be fair the other couple with us ordered Lasagna and a shrimp/pasta meal and were satisfied. The waitress noticed that my wife didn't touch her meal and offered to remove it from the bill. My wife just asked for a dessert for no charge- which she did. If the owner reads this and offered us a free meal to make amends- I'd pass. I'm not trying to hurt these owners- I really hope they read this and review their menu. An 'Italian' type restaurant, first and foremost , needs a Good/Great Sauce that they slather on everything. My family hosted an 80th birthday party last night and I can't say enough good things about Smithtown Pasta House. The food was all excellent and the staff very pleasant and attentive. I have been to this restaurant a few times since they opened and everytime the experience has been excellent. The staff is very friendly and engages with us as more than a business transaction. The food is delicious and there is something on the menu for every palette. The Happy Hour menu is perfect for small plate options along with fairly priced drinks. Chrissy welcomes us with a warm smile. James & Christos, along with bar back Dean are friendly, attentive, and very efficient. Sue, Gianna, and Gabby always stop at our table to say hi and to see if we need anything more than the excellent service we are already receiving. Stopped on a whim . Sat down right away. Our waitress Sue was ultra friendly. Had the Snow Flake Martini which was fantastic. Asparagus soup was flavorful and the Beet Salad was delicious. Bar area is lovely..so pretty!!! We have only eaten in the bar but everything we've ordered has been great-- their eggplant rollatini appetizer is EXCELLENT. The portions are generous. I have dined here many times since their grand opening and I have to say, I am blown away each and every time. I was there once again over the weekend to celebrate a Birthday and we all had the most amazing evening. From the service, to the food, to the ambiance, (always beautifully decorated for the seasons) and all of the employees, all makes it such a wonderful dining experience. Chrissy always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and you can tell that she truly cares about her customers. I have and will continue to recommend this place to everyone I know. Big disappointment. As soon as we entered, there was a woman with blonde hair who rudely sat us. It wasn't the ideal way to be greeted at a new restaurant. When we sat down, I wanted to order the Lobster Ravioli off the menu, but the waitress said they "ran out this morning." How can a place be called The Pasta House and not even have the pastas you want to order? I settled for the penne alla vodka, but when i took a bite the food was extremely bland. It had zero flavor. It was as if someone took a whole box of old pasta from Stop & Shop and threw a can of sauce on top. I at least expected the pasta to be fresh or homemade, but there was nothing special about it. The atmosphere inside also didn't have any relevance to the name of the restaurant. It felt like I was eating in a bathroom. By the end of the night, my family and I spent nearly $300 on 5 pasta dishes and dessert. Huge rip off considering the service was poor, food was poor, and price was poor. They also charged an extra 4% for paying on a card. Now I know why the restaurant was completely empty on a Sunday night. Don't waste your time on this place! read more

First time visit. They have a little bit of a different take on pasta with vodka sauce in place of traditional tomato sauce for many dishes. But it works. The vodka lasagna was tasty and husband enjoyed the linguini with clam sauce. Beware - the salads are gigantic. We had one to share and it was enough for 2 or 3 more people. The service was a little slow which didn't really bother us since we like to relax and enjoy our meals but it might annoy other people. Our server Nellie was a delight. Very attentive. Celebrated our anniversary here last night, and the attention to detail was great. We had a private table with champagne waiting for us, our waiter Lou paid the perfect amount of attention. Our party of 6 ate at the Pasta House on a weeknight, which I mention because we were able to get a reservation. The bar scene was energetic but we were seated at a table in a different area, and easily able to converse. I am writing a review because I must counteract a few of the negative reviews I read. The menu looks rather ordinary when you read it. The actual food, extraordinary. The linguine in clam sauce is the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Other members of our party ordered chicken Francese, Tuscan rigatoni, and chicken caprese-- everyone extremely pleased with their choice. The wait service was Perfect. Our waitress Sue was attentive at exactly the right moments, and contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Out of 6 people, 6 of us cannot wait to go back. read more
