From the moment she started, we noticed a boost in her confidence and a new excitement for learning. The progress she's made--academically and emotionally--has been truly remarkable. A huge thank-you to Miss Sarah and Miss Natalie, who have both been incredibly patient, encouraging, and dedicated. They take the time to really understand her needs and tailor each session to help her grow. Their warm and supportive approach has made her feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of her accomplishments. I absolutely love Miss Sarah's "get to work" attitude and my daughter loves Miss Natiles fashion choices. The environment at Stowell is welcoming and uplifting, and our daughter always looks forward to her sessions. As parents, we appreciate the clear communication and the genuine care they show for her success. We are so grateful for the positive impact this center--and especially Miss Sarah and Miss Natalie--have had on her learning journey. We highly recommend Stowell Learning Center to any family looking for a caring and effective place for their child to thrive.

The front desk knew I was serious and determined and a no fuss mother who wanted answers. Finding a solution, giving me answers and showing me the steps was comforting. I had learned about the center from a speech therapist. She suggested it and said you are the only determined mother who will drive an hour one way daily. Two hours round trip! I did! I drove so much and was exhausted. Needless to say thank you Stowell as I write this with tears in my eyes. My son can read, he is graduating from high school in eight weeks and currently has a 3.74. It has been four years since he has been there but looking back I don't regret all the money, time spent. Seeing your child thrive is priceless!!! Thank you to Kaitlyn!! Thank you Everyone else! It is a great operation!

Even after being with this company for over 3 year (at one point felt almost like a family/support system) as soon as we had an issue with our insurance we where notified immediately that our child could no longer assist the program and given a week to resolve it or else, we would get all services fully revoked. This is exactly what happened, now we're left scrambling trying to get our child into another provider. No empathy, it's all about the $$$$. Once a great case manager, Karen, left this company EVERYTHING came down like a house of cards. From the service, to the communication, down to the empathy- all gone. Not professional, lack of ethics and 0 compassion. Do yourself and your family a favor, avoid this place like the plague!

I've used them for about 2 years, on and off, and unfortunately, it's hard to find good special needs therapy organizations in Los Angeles. I have Anthem Blue Cross so I've used a couple other organizations but ALP tends to have better staff compared to others, but unfortunately, they tend not to stay for whatever reason, and we're stuck with another trainer, coach every 6-8 months. Although Dr. Gina Chang is listed as the president of ALP, she doesn't have any interaction with patients. Most interactions are with staff via phone or "trainers". That one session went very well and there were no problems so i don't know why there was never any follow up.

After years of experience and having to move my children from school to school because of work-life…read morebalance, I feel with deep confidence this was one of the best elementary schools my children attended. Special Thanks: - Dr. Gary Gerstner and prior principal - Ms. Zachach (pardon the misspelling) - IEP staff - Speech therapist - Dolly Chatterton - Lilia (a name similar to Lily) - Parent/Community Advisory Committee - Parents in action Let me give you some context to compare amongst the other reviewers vs my review as a parent. When my children attended this school, I was a single parent, attending UCI as an engineering student, with a child in the IEP program, and having to manage my children's mother who was later found neglectful by CPS. All of this while working at Disney in customer service and born into poverty. Therefore, I had minimal chances to succeed as a parent, let alone the patience for all the possible mistakes I might encounter from being inexperienced. The Community: The people here are great and the kids are decently behaved. There might be a conflict between children every now and then but they do resolve it. The Parents In Action (PIA) cares about making a difference in the children's involvement with school activities. I've never attended a PTA meeting, sorry. The Staff: I don't like to generalize but they were awesome. I especially recall Dolly and Lilia (similar name to Lily). I put Dr Gary Gerstner and possibly the staff through some stuff with CPA getting involved, like the conflicts between the mother and I. In the end, I wish they knew it saved my children's life. Parent/Community Advisory Committee: The Advisory Committee is another level. I recommend attending if you're a parent looking for advance information regarding how to make the best of your interaction with the school system. For example, I asked what was the best way I can make the most out of the IEP meetings with advance resources. The person who answered my question was highly educated and very prepared. They taught me the steps on making a meaningful impact at each IEP meeting. IEP: The help in the beginning was profound. However, to make the changes necessary to improve as a parent for a child in the IEP, I had to be more involved. The specialists and teachers knew my limitations and made the best decisions available to them. The absolute best advice I received was from Ms. Zachach (pardon the misspelling), to make my child love reading and there is no limit to how much they should read.

My son has some unique challenges, and handwriting has always been a significant struggle for him. From the very beginning, she recognized his strengths, understood his struggles, and adjusted her approach in ways that made him feel successful instead of frustrated. Her patience, creativity, and deep understanding of neurodivergent learners are remarkable. Plus she makes it fun and he enjoys going. The progress he's made in such a short time has exceeded my expectations. His handwriting has improved significantly, but even more importantly, his confidence has grown. He feels capable, and that is priceless. It's rare to find a teacher who is not only highly skilled but also so intuitive, flexible, and genuinely invested in each child's success. We are incredibly grateful for everything she's done for Jordan and would recommend her without hesitation.

Jennell is incredibly professional and passionate, not only about the mechanics of writing, but about the craft of writing itself. Our son has made noticeable improvements in his letter formation, sizing, and spacing. Beyond handwriting, he's also developed greater writing stamina, stronger reading comprehension, and increased the length and quality of his written output. As an educator myself, I especially appreciate that Jennell's goal is to help students move beyond simply writing functionally. She teaches them to become thoughtful, confident writers. At the end of each session, she shares each student's work with parents and provides personalized feedback on their progress, in addition to the camp's regular progress reports. We are so grateful for this experience and hope to participate in more of Jennell's camps in the future.
